Not really, their are a lot of platforming sections in sonic 2 that stop you from holding right. And if you feel that about Sonic 2 I respect you opinion. Advanced 2 didn't really allow me to platform some parts or explore like most sonic games, because you're going to fast, the level mostly does the work for you. Just my opinion

Sonic Advance 3 is definitely one of my favorites in the Advance Trilogy. The music is amazing, the partner system is pretty unique and has interesting combinations you could use with each partner and that true ending is really sweet. I need to get this game again whenever i get the chance.
gemerl legit is my favorite sonic charater, he's story and charater design are just fantastic. i seriously wish he got more love outside the current run in idw.
Out of all of the Sonic Advance games, I found myself coming back to 3 - Each of the levels felt so vivid and unique, the overall soundtrack itself was breathtaking (Especially the Extra boss theme: Nonaggression). As far as tag-actions go, I'll use any character partnered with Tails (I just love having him fly me around). PS: I'm happy that you got to meet one of your Idols Coop, Ryan Drummond sounds like a awesome person to meet.
I think Advance 3 is heavily underated. I know you gushed on the music a lot but I am honestly surprised you didn't mention how kickass the final boss music, Nonagression, is. Hell, I think it is even better then Sonic 3 and Knuckles's Doomsday Zoon theme, which is still one of my all time favorites but holy crap, Nonagression is just godlike. Also, R.I.P Poco. Ironic that your next game you will review will feature a bird companion.
First things first, terribly sorry the loss of your bird. At the very least, you gave him a good life and I'm sure he really appreciated that. RIP. As for Sonic Advance 3, I remember not really liking it all that much back when I first played it. I was about 12 when the game came out and I was initially excited for it and while I really liked the Team Up mechanic, something just felt off about the game. But to be fair I have not played the game in like 15 years so I may need to go back and give it another try. It's always nice to hear people's experiences with controversial games. Though I must admit when you got towards the end about how this felt like the end of an era because it was the last time we ever heard the original Sonic Adventure cast, that truly hit the feels. Like you, I'm another person who vastly preferred the Sonic Adventure era actors and the fact that we never heard them again after this game is just depressing to look back on. And it's the number one reason why I don't want to see a Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 remake from the ground up because unless they re-hire the adventure cast for this, I don't want to hear Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 re-dubbed with the new cast, it would just sound terrible in my honest opinion. Anyway great look through, it was quite enjoyable to watch. :)
I think people hate Sonic Advance 3 is because of how bad the first level was and everyone just said the whole games like that im typing an F in the chat for Poco F
Cris Dude (we absolutely wonder why he went away) said many problems people have with Sonic Advance 3 along with Somecallmejohnny in his list of 5 most overrated Sonic games which could have been better by having Sonic ‘06, the Sonic Storybook games, the SEGA Pico Sonic games and Sonic Chronicles on that list. Most of them were truly over-exaggerated.

While I think that Advance 2 is the best one, Advance 3 is still my favorite because I can play it with my brother. A co op experience like that is hard to find in the Sonic series. Advance 2 is less unique by comparison.
I agree with you! I don't really get why people think advance 2 is the best out of the three. Seriously f*** Advance 2! Advance 3 is the best out of the three. I even say advance 1 and battle are better than advance 2.
I thought I was the only one. I mean, yeah, the level design is straight up unfair, but I actually had more fun exploring spike-plagued levels over getting betrayed by a game that claims its focus is speed when it actually isn't(Advance 2). Come at me fanboys!
Wow someone actually maid an in depth defense review of this one! I’m surprised at some of the flack it gets. It feels out of proportion. I was fortunate to play each release when they came out. And I’ve enjoyed them each for what they were. Even completed each with all the chaos emeralds. So no own personal bias here. I love how Advance 3 kinda ties with Sonic Battle too. This game did some pretty care attention to detail. They each have there own short comings, but it’s really a matter of what hit you more enjoyably. I’m not knocking Advance 2 at all, but I realized how overrated it gotten over time. I don’t know if it was many’s first Sonic hand held, the time it released, or constant linear speed. I happen to appreciate that it attempt to be the balance of the two. People slammed it like it’s just outright bad. There are worst Sonic experiences we all know. Lol I gotta look into the remasters tracks then! 👀 The music in these games were seriously well done! I particularly like Ocean Base. I can’t believe how well they fit the theme environments. And I appreciate the hunt for the chaos emeralds being less pain in the ass over Advance 2. Awesome review. I haven’t played these games in years since completing. I mostly agree with you. It really felt like an end of the better era of the Sonic games. No offense to Johnny ether, but I was surprised how overly negative he felt towards it. And I usually get by his opinions on Sonic. My initial thought were like, huh??? What’s wrong with Advance 3 exactly??? But I enjoyed the whole trilogy. Also sorry for your lost.
On my little defense on Sonic Advance 2, yeah is definitely press right to win and its a big problem on that as it makes the game feel super samey. But I also think that the appeal of Advance 2 come from beating the games with style, using the air jump at the right moment to reach an extra path that otherwise you wouldn't be able to reach and keeping your speed at max, you can pass the level no problem, but you do it faster and with style. Sonic Advance 3 sort of does this too, when they usually dedicate 1 act each zone to be mostly about speed (Sunset Hill act 2 and Ocean Base act 3 for example), the same rules apply, beating the level with style, but, Advance 3 give more variety with those levels.
So is this your favorite sonic game? I also hate advance 2. I haven’t played advance 3 game in 2 an a half years which I wanna change. Amazing video and R.I.P poco
I personally find Advance 3 to be mediocre. I like the partner system, but I find some of the level design in it to be frustrating at times. The easiest examples of that are those moments at the beginning of the video with those spikes and the blocks that come from nowhere and crush you. It further has the same issue as Advance 2 where you're going very fast, but the small screen ratio doesn't help in showing what's ahead of you. The controls are also a mess since they get increasingly slippery depending on how many rings you collect. Advance 1 has the best controls in the opinion.
And yet. I take Advance 3 over the Mega Drive trilogy nowadays anyday. No boring and slow paced levels like Sonic 1, no game breaking bugs or the piss poor last third like Sonic 2, and almost no levels that drag on or feel like I'm going fast with little to no control like in Sonic 3. I don't really agree about the control. I got used to the slippery factor quickly as the hub world gave me room to practice Sonic's faster momentum and he feels properly fast this time around. Both control systems have their cons really since I find the original control to be a bit stiff. It's like Sonic Adventure 2. I used to think it was just okay but repeat playthroughs made me fall in love with what it has to offer.
Hey cooper. I was wondering about becoming a reviewer at some point. Could you give me some advice about how to get started. Like in a video or something.
Get a video out, no matter the quality, don't overthink it. Just make it, if you find something you don't like about it, use that to improve your next video. Then your next video, and so on, and so on. You'll get better with time.
This was very unexpected cause I absolutely hate this games level design and control but good on you for having fun with a game that has a lot of really cool ideas
I dinfitney agree with you for some call me journey's opinion being wrong about game this game is great and I can tell you put your heart in this review good on you and RIP podco 😢
Personally while I don't I find this one the worst of the trilogy it's not my favorite either. The hit detection is awful, bosses included, argubly one of the worst in a Sonic game. (seriously just having so much as a pixel of your foot on the side of a moving platform somehow counts as getting crushed) the game is also very spike and crush heavy so you'll most likely die frequently from those. The level design just isn't good imo. I also don't like the hub world design as I feel it slows progression from level to level. Still that does not mean its a bad game I still enjoy it for what it does offer. Plus it goes back to stationary bosses which I much prefer over running bosses. While I think Advance 3 is the worst technically I enjoy playing it more than Advance 2 because I dislike playing Advance 2 the most. I still think Advance 1 is the best of the trilogy. For instance I think Advance 3 has the best soundtrack of the entire trilogy, every zone has one track I like. Cyber Track Act 2, Twinkle Snow Act 1 and 2, Toy Kingdom Act 1 and Route 99 Act 1 being my favorites in the game. Especially Cyber Track Act 2. The chaos emerald system still sucks, but its at least miles better than Advance 2's system. I love the team mechanic because I love options to experiment in games. However its also a double edged sword as certain options are also limited. For instance a player can't do those trick actions unless paired with a specific partner that ties into their labeled name which is very limiting considering some of the best combinations are outside of those. Or how some combinations outright nullify other character's utility completely such as Tails and Cream losing their flying abilities when paired. I guess this might have been for balance? But I feel it limits in a way. There's also the fact that you can only unlock them as Sonic. Still I won't lie and saying team combinations are by far the most fun about the game. Also my condolences for Poco I'm very sorry that happened to you.
What was your favorite part in Advance 3?
The music, particularly Cyber Track Zone
Chaos Angel to the end of the game was great.
Also the special stages are awesome

It's only the best so I can pair Sonic and Amy but then say "I don't like sonamy, sonally is better"
Same it's better than mania
octo cam I like Mania more.
Lol
Sorry for your lost man
So is this your favorite sonic game? I also hate advance 2. I haven’t played advance 3 game in 2 an a half years which I wanna change. Amazing video and R.I.P poco
Rip birdy bird.
You'll get better with time.
coopercastille Thanks. RUclips didn’t give me the notification for this so I am just now seeing this.
Not every Sonic fan hate this game. Matter of fact, most fans like myself consider it to be the best GBA Sonic game.

#SonicAdvancedTrilogyOnNintendoSwitch
Advance 2 is based
Poor poco......
Sonic Advance 3 > Sonic Mania
Both games kick ass!!!!!!!
