I reused my pen and it works great. My su demonstrator threw out her pen and I grabbed it. She said it could not be used again but she was wrong. Great Videos. Thanks
An absolutely stunning tutorial. I use wink of stellar pens all the time. I had wondered if I could recycle it to use again. A fantastic tip thank you I had never thought of useing one of my reinkers, thank you very much for showing me how to reuse my pen again.❤ Fantastic tip!
Great video and tips!👍🏻 I need to try adding ink and glitter to an old waterbrush. I’m thinking adding a plastic bead to aid in mixing will work well. France you inspired me! Thought someone may find my method, recipe, useful. I refill mine with a tiny amount of crystal pearl cosmetic glitter, it’s a dry super fine ground glitter dust, distilled water and a few drops of Versamark ink refill or glycerin. The Versamark or glycerine adheres the glitter to the paper. I’ve refilled my original Wink of Stella purchased over 3 years ago many times, huge savings for me. Plus I love the resulting glimmer mixture even more than the original!
Thank you so very much, Frenchie! What a way to recycle! Thank you so much for showing us the proper way to do this, even though you weren't sure either. It's so much fun when we learn together. I enjoy your videos.
Oh my! I am so glad that I found this video,! You always do fabulous videos, but this one was so informative, and goodness knows how many wink of stella we use! Tfs. I also love the card you made, I am so glad that I also got the chance to see how beautiful that stamp set it! Blessings. Lisa
The Zig Company, the makers of Wink of Stella pens, that's who! They don't want you to get more life out of your old pens - they want you to buy new ones. Personally, I'm too frugal (ok, I admit - I'm cheap) not to squeeze every single use I can out of all my supplies lol! I like the challenge of trying to get more out of less and I love videos like this one that help to do just that! Thanks for posting this 😉
What a great idea! I used the wink of Stella and used it with just drinker, it worked okay, but I am gonna try it with the alcohol. It may work better! Thanks for the idea!
EXCELLENT idea, I am very impressed!!! I LOVE being able to re-use, and how WONDERFUL to be able to take a favorite Stampin Up reinker, ESPECIALLY perhaps of a long-retired favorite that we have like Baroque Burgundy, I'd LOVE to make this and send it to my aunt who loves this color as much as I do. And to do with some special greens like your kiwi and lime greens, yum!!! Just a thought!!! I love seeing your success on SU!!! I live in Ontario, Canada, so proud of all you have accomplished, France!!! Best wishes, Joanne
Thanks so much for this video. I just ran out of my wink of Stella, and I was sad because it finished but now I know I don't have to be sad anymore when my wink of Stella runs out. Hugs and kisses. ~ CreativeCraftsNiche
I didn't know that these were refillable! I hadn't bothered with these as I thought they were just expensive! This is good to know! I use Stayz-On for stamps I watercolor over, but I think I have Memento & them embossing ink too. Next time I see these on sale, I may have to go get some! Nice tutorial! TY!
aHA exactly what I needed to know. I just bought wink of stella clear and playing with using it over Ohuhu markers. Wink of Stella really livens those colors up. When mine runs low I'll be back for this tutorial again France, thanks!
France, Can you stamp with Archival ink and then use the alcohol colored wink of stella, also do you notice that the shimmer comes off on your finger if you rub the image? Thank you
Hi, So this make a colored wink of stella, depending on which ink that you put in or is the shimmer all gone and you have a brush to paint Wisteria Wonder with? Thank you
Great idea but Wisteria is purple not black. Yet the color looks like a silver black and not a purple or lavender color? Just saying the name doesn't match the color. Thanks for sharing. Kathy B.
after it is dry you can see it is wisteria yes purple tone you can view a close up picture on my blog at www.frenchiestamps.com/2016/06/recycle-wink-of-stella-pen-tip-of-day.html

Glad it was helpful!
also Frenchie, if you put mica powders inside along with the alcohol you'll be back to shiny again :)

This is a great idea. Add Pearl Essence to the barrel when the shimmer runs out.
Germaine Benson Pearl Essence is that a Stampin Up product?
~X💜X~
This is brilliant, France! I was wondering what I was going to do when it was empty. I certainly didn't want to throw it away. Thanks!

Does it matter whether you use dye reinker or pigment reinker?
Yes you need the water base ink Dye ink to dry fast

Question: Is it best to store the clear Wink of Stella horizontally or vertically? Thank you France.
brush face up
aHA exactly what I needed to know. I just bought wink of stella clear and playing with using it over Ohuhu markers. Wink of Stella really livens those colors up. When mine runs low I'll be back for this tutorial again France, thanks!
Just wondering if this tip would also work on the Spectrum Noir version, Sparkle pens? I hope so, this is such a great idea! x
Sorry I a not familiar with the Spectrum Noir
Ah, ok, many thanks anyway! xxx
It seems there is no waiting time between the stamping and the coloring in- I always worry about the black mixing-do you wait til stamp dries ?
I wait a little but if you use memento ink it shouldn't bleed
@@FranceMartinFrenchie Thanks- Will do that!!!
Thanks for this - wanted to try it but not sure to use water or alcohol.
Water is not the best on reg card stock okay on watercolor card stock but not on reg card stock
Smear on the side? Will an ink eraser take that off?
no sure I didn't try it
What a clever Lady you Are, France.
cheryl7476 Agreeeeeeed!

France, Can you stamp with Archival ink and then use the alcohol colored wink of stella, also do you notice that the shimmer comes off on your finger if you rub the image? Thank you

You are a genius! Why rubbing alcohol?
Because that is what wink of stella have plus alcohol and reinking is like alcohol markers dry fast

Store stand up with the brush facing UP
Wow I will have to try this! Thank you
Hi, So this make a colored wink of stella, depending on which ink that you put in or is the shimmer all gone and you have a brush to paint Wisteria Wonder with? Thank you
At first it will still have some shimmer so you will have shimmer color after refile a few time it will be a alcohol coloring tool :)
Thank you France for the great videos.
Is it ok to use the wink of stella brush as a water brush?
