My mother was born in here in 1900. It was great then and still is pretty much the same. It is like a time warp. I now live in Yuma, AZ and would like to go back. I'm now 93 years old and still remember it as a kid.
The Jersey Shore area has lot's of nice places (you'll be seeing many of them here in the next few months). Ocean Grove is nice because it's sleepy and beautiful yet you have the very active Asbury Park beach with it's restaurants, night life, concerts and developed boardwalk right next door. You can walk there along the boardwalk! Thanks Richard!
I lived there as a kid from the age of 9 to 13 back in the early 80's. You walked past my street (Surf Ave). I plan on visiting again this year with my girlfriend. It will be our second time visiting OG. I can't wait! Thanks for the great video!
Another great video, this one may be one of my favorites from your channel. So beautiful and informative. And I know what you mean about the parking: I foolishly went to the Grove a few years back on the Fall Saturday they were having their annual giant flea market along Ocean Pathway and had to leave in defeat after about an hour of driving around looking for a spot!
That was nice! Very interesting on the tent rentals. They look beautiful, but not sure if I'd want to be there in a bad storm. Out of curiousity, I wish I could see the inside of one Really enjoying your Jersey Shore Series!
I snuck a peek here and there when the front was open. They are about the size of a small bedroom and most have comfortable furnishings (sofa, rug, chairs, tables). They are wood framed with heavy canvas and quite sturdy. The attached 'shed' has a kitchen and bathroom. As you can see, many have beautiful gardens. The beach, parks and downtown area are withing walking distance. If you hurry now, you might nab one for the 2033 season ... if your lucky! Thanks for watching Cranium Lost!
Now, there I've been. It's been a while, but I've visited. Out of curiosity, suggestion: what about a behind the magic video? How a video is made. If possible.
Way back when I did a video on how I edited a video. It was part of another video (I believe it was an Ocean Casino Resort room tour video in Atlantic City). This has been suggested before. I also get asked about the equipment I use. I'll see what I can do. Perhaps when the summer winds down, I'll do a thorough video and reveal what's behind the curtain! Thanks Dan!
You failed to mention a bit of Ocean Grove history. Namely that Ocean Grove isn't its own town anymore, it's an unincorporated community located within Neptune Township, New Jersey. The reason it occurred is because Ocean Grove used to have their own municipal powers: police, court and officials; but to vote for those government officials the Camp Meeting Association required you to be a "good and upstanding member of the Methodist Church" which is illegal under the 1st Amendment to the US Constitution and the New Jersey State Constitution of 1947, so the NJ State Supreme Court dissolved the municipal powers of the town and turned all power (except the leasehold ownership interest of the buildings, which you did mention) over to Neptune Township. This all happened apparently because of a pizza delivery or courier who drove through Ocean Grove on a Sunday getting a ticket, which went all the way to the NJ Supreme Court, where having your car there on a Sunday within the gate was illegal until Ocean Grove lost it's municipality powers.
@@NuYawk I was born and raised in Neptune Township, so I like to give that bit of history about my town because some people still believe Ocean Grove is its own municipality.

Thanks for watching and subscribing Robert! Glad it bought back some good memories!
If Ocean Grove wasn't so expensive, I could see myself living there. What a Beautiful town.

A mix of property taxes and high demand for OG homes is what brings most people to shy away from OG housing.
I live year round, and even in the fall and winter it is very pleasant and relaxing.
I Envy You.@@headsuphockeypodcast2707
