Dude, I have been searching and searching until I came across your video. This is by far the most comprehensive and detailed trouble shooting video out there regarding this exact refrigerator. You gave me a place to start out with in trying to figure out why my brand new Furrion 12V 10cf frig just wont cool below 50 degrees and I am plugged in to shore power.

This is the kinda crap that made me sell my RV and build my own Cargo conversion trailer...I'm installing this same fridge and doing this right the first time! Great video!

I had the problem with it shutting off shortly after starting when I first got my 365pack16. We returned it to the dealer and they swapped it out with another fridge. We got it home and it didn't work again. Turns out that the wire is too small for the current draw when the lights in the slide are on and the fridge is running. The fridge has a low voltage shut off. I see in your video that the lights are on in your slide. Try this without the lights on. In the end, Forest River instructed our dealer to increase the size of the wires to the slide. After increasing the wire size, I have not had any problems.

Yeah it's what I figured originally apparently the new redesign of the fridge they must of found a way to reduce draw. It has still crossed my mind to rewire it at this point they warranted it so will see what happens. Thanks for sharing you experience.

Out Furrion double door is in a ‘23 Grand Design less than a year old, would not hold 36-39, mostly held at 40-43 until started going up one weekend. Mobile techs declined to work on it do to “call backs” with this brand. Parts being unavailable when diagnosed also an issue. Read enough negative people’s problems on all 12 volt fridges last two weeks I don’t think the manufacturers have engineered the problems out of them yet. Never had a problem with my 3-way that ran continuously for 6 years. Only drawback was couple defrosts per year.

I'm curious how it's working now after 5 months? Did it fully solve your problem? One thing to keep in mind, your fridge and those lights are sharing a circuit on 14AWG wire. 14AWG at 12v is only good for about 7-10 feet on 10A current draw with the lights (hence your flickering). If you were to change out that supply wire for your fridge to 12AWG wire back to your fuse panel - it will likely solve the problem. 12AWG can handle a 10A draw up to about 16ft.
I ran into something similar on my plane with the pitot heat. I had to run a larger wire to handle the amperage. Even though the multi-meter was showing good voltage, the draw was too high.

I agree but so far so good was just in the fridge 10 minutes ago its been fine since the new fridge.

Good Morning - I’m Not Sure ; But Your Lights Should be on a Different Circuit from The Fridge. Try Plugging into a 50amp Then Your Lights May Stay On. As Far as The Fridge ; Looks Like Your Change of Fuse Looks Good 👍🏼 Wish You The Best !

30 to 50 amp no change, and it is on the same circuit

Thanks for the info! I just bought a brand new 2022 Grand Designs Reflection which comes with the Furrion 12V fridge. Since i left the dealer 10 days ago, the fridge never worked. The lights turn on just fine but the compressor isn’t turning on. They can’t even see it to diagnose it for months. I need to try something myself. I wouldn’t have thought it was the fuse because the lights in the fridge work just fine. But now after watching your video, maybe it is the fuse still after all?

  • @dennyoconnor8680
    @dennyoconnor8680 Год назад +2

I stopped watching it the instant you said "I can't believe it's the fuse" Yeah, it's the fuse - and the wire.
The 14 ga wire from the DC Convertor is acting like a resistor and the Furrion is trying to pull more current to make up for the low voltage. And the fuse holder for the godforsaken orphan fuse they put in is overheating.
I just did a Furrion 10-DCTA-BR that had partially melted the fuse and was having the exact same symptoms. $30 dollars in 10 ga. wire and a 30 amp blade fuse holder with wire pigtails from the auto store (15 amp is the right value) Took me 4 hours. The lady said to me the next day that her refrigerator has never worked that good. I did extend the wires on the new fuse holder and it is now at the air intake grill on the bottom front under the door. If it ever blows you don't have to pull the frig out of the wall, just pull the intake grill - 2 screws (needs cleaning anyway)

This is exactly what I'm going to do with our brand new 2023 Sprinter. This frig just wont cool down properly, freezer is fine, but frig wont cool below 50 degrees. I'm going to try starting by changing out the wiring and adding a blade style 30 amp inline fuse in place of the factory fuse in the back of the frig.

So the flickering generally comes from the converter which is veritable sometimes it's having a problem waking up.

@@CruizinWithTheCarsons I'm having a similar issue; freezer is fine but fridge is not getting as cold as it should. Did replacing the fuse and wiring work for you?

First I would see if there is any warranty left even with the fridge manufacturer direct if you have to. If not I would go after that fuse In the back of it. What manufacturer is the fridge and what year is the camper?

Good Morning - Did the New Fridge that they sent you Have The Same Fuse or Different one ? Since they changed The Wiring Box ; maybe the Fuse as Well.

Ours works when slide is in, but doesn't when slide is out. Thinking might be a pinch in wire or something.

Definitely a pinch look at the wire track underneath the slide out. u will see where they go in

I think it could be the wrong gauge wire in your 12 volt install. Too small gauge.
