Fell's Point (Brown's Wharf) one of or the most bars per square block in America, (The Horse You Rode In On has been a bar since the 1700's). The Brewer's Art Pub, Charles St. The Betsy Ross House, The Edgar Allen Poe House, The Babe Ruth birth house. The Peabody Institute, Ft. McHenry, Federal Hill, John's Hopkins, Antique Row, Howard St., (Howard Street has tons of cool stuff), Little Italy (Vacarro's has thee best pastry's in the world, imo) and Greek Town just to name a few.
I grew up 5 miles north of B-town. Don't let these buildings fool you. All of these were built in a time when labor and materials were cheap. I knew and visited many people who lived downtown. Almost all of these buildings have lathed and plaster walls, 9-10' ceilings and oak floors and 4 inch beams. My brother lived in a row house that had a 3 story mahogany staircase. Across the street houses were huge, 3,000 to 3,500 square feet with 6 foot windows. The best one was a true "town house" on Charles street. Basement, 3 floors and full sized attic. The foyer was 10 feet wide with 2 12 foot french doors on both sides, one for the parlor and the other for the sitting room. An 8 foot stairway leading up and branching east and west and back to the front of the house with rooms on either side. This was a single family home. Don't quote me but I believe this was built in the mid 19th century. My friends apt was 1 of 4 on his floor and it had 4 large rooms and a kitchen. B-town's architecture ranges from the mid 1600's to the present and is wonderful and very diverse. I hope someday these building are restored to their former glory.
Thank you so much for all the information! We absolutely love the architecture in Baltimore, especially the buildings in Old Town Mall. We really hope these beautiful structures can be restored. It’s such a shame when they’re demolished and replaced with generic buildings.
I always thought my city was normal but when I started to travel I realized I was living in a very dangerous place I thought everywhere was like my home
Thank you for commenting! It seems like, no matter the situation we grow up in, we think it's normal. But I guess hard situations create very resilient people.
Haha, it’s actually not that bad. We’ve visited the Old Town Mall a few times and never had any problems, but yeah, it’s definitely not the safest place.

@@underground_travel I agree, so much history in a "small" area.
The mall would make a great set for a post-apocalypse movie.
Totally agree! It would fit perfectly in the next season of The Last of Us!

Never heard it called "Baltimore City". Is that something the locals say?
I'm not sure about the locals, but in the video, it was to differentiate Baltimore County and Baltimore City. Thanks for watching!
