- This was one adventure that we had never planned for, but we thought what the heck... why not give it a crack in our 2WD Kombi with a 9 month old baby? We were so up for the challenge, and the fact that we hadn't done any research or planning made for an unforgettable journey. Far out we were so impressed with how the van handled it, and seeing the look on people's faces when they saw a Kombi and a baby at the top end was awesome! We love pushing the limits, and showing what really is possible and this trip certainly was wilder than we could have ever imagined!

Subscribed! I once did a 27 month trip in a 1968 combi. Surprisingly capable machine! Also requires some regular maintenance.

I was a bit of a regular at Musgrave Station for a while. I used to work for a bus company in Cooktown and would do runs to Coen, Lockhardt, and other places. I love that country up that way.
As a former Kombi owner (1970 1600 pop-top German Import Kamper), I can attest that a Kombi will go many places that your regular 2-wheel-drive vehicle wouldn't have a hope of making, even those 2x4s with hi-lift cabs. I miss my old Kombi.
I found your most recent videos first. So I just want to say Maxine you are just adorable in these early vids, keeping baby girl happy, getting silly, and keeping morale up. ONE road trip with ONE baby is hit or miss for most folks. It had to be tough, and fun, and crazy. I think that's the coolest part of this video since I'm watching you guys in reverse haha.
