YES! This the video you should have on repeat just before you go to sleep at night, while you spend 4 years in the garage making your own dream come true
Awesome - that’s a lot of wind at that speed! We’re lucky to briefly see 100mph/160k in the US. That’s what that motor needs to get off the leash a bit! 🐍
Nice to have a road to legally do this speed! I built a Cobra replica and used a 302 cu in Ford Windsor with 5 speed Borg-Warner transmission and one night I took it up to it's top speed on the freeway, hitting 147 mph or 236 kph. I had a high final drive ratio which gave 50 kph per 1000rpm in 5th gear, so that was at only 4700 rpm Had to work out that speed by calculation (tyre size/gear ratio/final drive etc) as the speedometer went only to 140 mph. But at that speed one could literally feel the aerodynamic resistance preventing the engine from building any more revs!
With this car there is two ways of going...you either become a much better driver from its rawness, or you die trying. Or in this case, you already have the skill set to harness it.
Suspect ... Only 29 Semi Competition (SC) Cobra's were ever built, and almost all of them were powered by 428 engines. Ford had allocated its production of 427's to other projects and Carroll had to elect the 428. This of course upset many of the owners who had bought the SC's.
The only one cobra I would have.. she was a replica and the owner made the wheelbase 14 inches longer.. the body was tastefully moded to hide the stretch.. and oh boy does i make it more stable at speed..
Nice car and video tysm. What are the 8 small gauges? I can't see. I'm guessing: fuel, oil pressure, coolant temperature, oil temperature, voltage but that is only 5. What are the others? Obviously the two big ones are Speedometer and Tachometer. I like the dash layout. I'm curious if you know the 0-100kph time and the quarter mile time?
This is a replica MKIII. Too many gauges for a stock, original 427 S/C, no padded dash, no glove box on that car, seats are wrong, no chrome side exhausts, hood and scoop not stock.
Sorry, you're telling me that this replica with 550 hp can only hit 230kph ....it must have the aerodynamics of a brick. My Lotus Exige S260 with 260 hp hits 278kph easily.
First Cobra (real or replica) that I have ever seen with the O2 sensors sticking up on the side pipes for the world to see !! Ugly !! Dashboard layout is hideous as well .

Super!
Dieses Auto wird "artgerecht" bewegt.
That drive was awesome

RUclips algorithm finally got it's shit together 👍
Wow sir that car moves

was für ein auto. da wächst der haben will faktor in's unermessliche. tolles stück cobra!!! einmalig!!!
If you want see how these cars supposed to be driven then youtube (Jaguar E-Types vs AC Cobra side-by-side battles in tense Goodwood race)
Notice how slower traffic moves to the right. No finger waving, brake checking or wavy key scratches on the side of his car.

smart owner, knew what he was making.
May I ask what trans stew you using
And then a Frau shows up in her AMG Wagon flashing her lights to get by
is this a bored and stroked SBF or an FE Series?
😍 👍

Could be from a French car? They aren't correct.
SC:s were 1966-1967, not 1964.

Does not make sense as in 1964 there was no Cobra SC, that came about in 1965.
This car is very confusing.
It’s a kit car. Don’t get confused. Nothing on this car is period correct.
Yes. And 1980's seats and sun visors from a welding booth?
i feel that this car would float at excessive speed.
ohh ya it does!! absolutely zero downforce.
@@kaizer2k2 especially the 289 version we have 140 floats not too terrible
Їдеш як бабка на шелбі, дай мені цю красу я тобі покажу шо таке сила шелби😂 вижму з неї весь сік
C'est une réplique
Anything over 100 in this feels insanely sketch
It looks very scary to me to drive so fast in such a light car probably without having any downforce…
Those cammer engines weighed in at almost 700 pounds dressed up, and the body of a belly tanker. At those speeds it’s hanging on to an iron rocket.

It's more about the gearing.
The originals in the 60’s did over 300kph at Le Mans.
@@ryanhenry21 If I recall correctly they were coupes.
Got the power to do 200mph i would think but may not handle at anywhere near and who wants to die when you have a car like this
The front-end of a Cobra *IS* flat like a brick. And the open-top design does no favors for drag/aerodynamics either.
First Cobra (real or replica) that I have ever seen with the O2 sensors sticking up on the side pipes for the world to see !! Ugly !! Dashboard layout is hideous as well .
That’s what happens when people build a kit car the call it an “AC/Shelby Cobra”. Nothing on this car is period correct.
@@ryanhenry21 - Bravo, you couldn't have said it more clearly!
