But invisible index will be keep updated by oracle server on applicable statements like INSERT,UPDATE,DELETE. I have one question on this. Setting index unused does not drop the index data but drop index does, you have to use alter table drop unused columns to clean up disk

When you rebuilt the index you can actually see the cost was increased by 1. Is it something that usually happens or is it just a session thing, I mean in the next session it will work effectively?? Nice vdo btw

Invisible index is maintained in the background for every single data change, so as soon as we make it visible it will be used in the query plans again( only if it adds value)

Nope, when the index is invisible it is maintained and updated like any other index, If you make it unusable then you will have to rebuild the index
