A sponsored film on the building of an oil pipeline - named the Arapahoe - from Colorado to Kansas where it joins up with a larger pipeline. Shots of the digging of ditches, preparing the pipes, and laying the pipes. Made for Pure Oil Company and the Sinclair Pipeline Company, the film shows the laying of the pipeline as a technological achievement and, considering the Cold War era in which it was made, a patriotic defense in case of war with the Soviets.

Coating with asphalt and asbestos without any type of safety gear, yikes. I wonder how many of these workers developed health issues after this

I'm glad we are more conscious of pollution these days. I guess this was the cost of keeping up with the Russians, no time for safety or the environment. These guys worked so hard!

Love it, thank you. Love that bending machine, hot latching rope, good lord I have seen bead hands but shit, that bead went in. Fast. How about that old heavy ass grinder, probably block brush ice pick job huh? Like them old fibremetals, same rock shield I guess. Same cadwelds. Pretty much did not change in 50 years, right?

Hot latching dopers I meant. Ficking spellcheck robots. Dynamite crew is cool. Show some more 583's my favorite, bury it and go, bury the inspector if need be. Seems like we bored under that line in 95
