I popped the left lens out of one and used it to replace the right lens on the other pair. So I had 3D glasses with two left lenses and was able to watch the movie in 2D
About 10% of all people can't really enjoy 3D movies, because....they aren't really 3D movies. A huge mistake (make about in every 3D movie) is to use depth-of-field like it's a 2D movie. The brain might realize that part of the picture is blurry because the eyes are focusing at a different distance...and re-focusing won't work. The eyes just get strained, the brain fails to orient itself in 3D space-time, and nausea can set in. The 3D movie is projected on a 2D screen. The eyes have to stay focused on that 2D screen, not on the perceived objects in 3D space. Fine as long as the apparent viewing distance of the 3D screens remains close to "infinity" (not closer than the distance to the screen, with all 3D action apparently playing behind the screen). So it's a big no-go to have anything appear in front of the screen. Of course, everyone thinks that's a great visual effect (like, ya know, worms or tentacles apparently attacking the audience...), so directors can't resist the temptation to turn a 3D movie into a 3D novelty show.

Hopefully someone who has seen the whole movie can answer you, too. But for me, sometimes movies just had “sad” endings, which leave a lasting impression. The people claim they feel better, but the alien was both sucking their lives out and controlling them, so in a human sense it’s bad. But with one creature controlling everything, maybe the Earth will have a relative peace. If the people are immortal now, though, plus feeling happy in their zombie sense, then it’s maybe technically positive? But of course we don’t like mind control and things like that, so it always will seem a little weird from an outside perspective
Well, an unstoppable alien force has assimilated all of humanity and turned them into mindless extensions of its will. Sounds like a pretty dire ending to me.
going by what Zach said, if the hen-tie alien gives you the succ, you'll no longer feel pain or anxiety but that thing definitely brainwashes you too and turns you into its puppet, so yeah...Bad Ending unlocked sure, the """"moral"""" of the movie is that the older generation ha gotta accept modern tech, but another teaching of this movie is that we let modern tech and the things it brings (social media and other stuff like that) control us too much (like the freaky tentacle alien does)

Hearing this synopsis it sounds kinda pretentious and I still think it is. But I was suprised it didn't end with them defeating the alien. Was kinda expecting the generic "stop being stuck in the past" message and/or the "both generations can learn from each other" message. But this ending kinda gives a very original message, or so I interpret it: The uncle is indeed stuck in the past, but also the young people are being to naive and getting themself into a big mess. But the problem isn't that one of them are wrong, the problem is that both of the generations are too stuck on their bubble. If the niece listened to the uncle a bit more and if the uncle wasn't so anti new stuff, they would have each other's respect and thus be able to fight against the monster together. But having them be divided was what really lead to their downfall.

@@NoahGooder I still remember the days when movie night required you to get your lazy ass off the coach, put some actual clothes on, not sweatpants, and drive to the block buster to rent a vcr and you had to rewind it more than likely before you could watch it. It's when someone has zero cares left and could therefore not care less, that things get sad.

This recap feels like it is a study in how many times the word "Millenial" can be said in one 10 minute video
Meanwhile those were not even millennials but I guess they just needed to shit on some generation and since everyone hates millennials (apparently) they went for them 🤣
Okay, this movie is basically 'They Live' (1988) and 'The World's End' (2013) combined, plus Resident Evil 4 game for the zombies and tentacles.
The Space 1999 episode "Dragon's Domain" also comes to mind.

@@IRMacGuyver Yes, you're right, the vibes of 'horror at a movie theater'. 😁
Is this a good ending or a bad ending? Were the aliens trying to help humans or torture them?
The whole movie is a metaphor that the old time uncle has to accept the new times (he has to accept the world of changing technology)
If they were making them watch *this* movie then they were obviously torturing them!!!
going by what Zach said, if the hen-tie alien gives you the succ, you'll no longer feel pain or anxiety
but that thing definitely brainwashes you too and turns you into its puppet, so yeah...Bad Ending unlocked

Hearing this synopsis it sounds kinda pretentious and I still think it is. But I was suprised it didn't end with them defeating the alien.
Was kinda expecting the generic "stop being stuck in the past" message and/or the "both generations can learn from each other" message.
But this ending kinda gives a very original message, or so I interpret it:
The uncle is indeed stuck in the past, but also the young people are being to naive and getting themself into a big mess.
"We want to take over the world via movie theaters!"
