Your collection of pedals makes me insanely jealous. I'm sure it's in no small due to your skills, but fucking hell, you achieve some incredible tones in every one of your videos.
This song goes so hard. I used to hate The Hives because I thought they were too simple and unsophisticated but then I started singing along and forgetting about all that nonsense. That's when I realised The Hives were made to simply rock, regardless of complexity - they rock my ears. I love that.

In the studio version of this song Nicholaus Arson adds some kind of neck slide between the loops of the chords that gives it some additional texture and flow I've always really liked, and I've never really seen anyone replicate it ever - including the band themselves, when they play live.
I think it's a "tremolo" effect. It is made with a guitar pedal. Maybe they overdubbed that guitar part using this effect.

I'm assuming one. Most seasoned guitarists could nail this song in one take. Simple. But catchy none the less. Garage rock/punk is usually simple stuff.

How are you going to use a rat style pedal to play The Hives. Just a cranked old fender (preferably a Bandmaster) is what you need. Less distortion then you think.
