For me, this was a meeting of my heroes----Stanhope is one of the all-time greats, talking to Fat Mike of NOFX, one of the greatest punk bands of all time.
For real I never expected to see these two together though it makes sense given their similar sense of humor
I realize it is kind of off topic but does anyone know a good website to stream new movies online ?
After reading NoFx’s book and watching this, I would bet Fat Mike could do a tight 15 for almost any headliner in the country. The sheer years of Hefe banter, crazy punk stories, and life lessons that he’s lived through... shit. Take my fucking money, after covid I expect to see this!
Straight Outta Massachusetts is as funny as top tier bits.
We drove down to SF to see this show at Cobbs Club, and met Fat Mike in the bathroom, he was nice enough to take a picture with us. Awesome night
If you meet your hero in a toilet you're encouraged to try to see their penis.
I've been a punk and major NOFX fan for around 30 years and a major Stanhope fan for probably 15. Both of them are probably the biggest contributors to who I am. Well maybe I should say I relate with their material on a level that is amazingly similar. The time I briefly met Doug at his merch table after a show I told him "You and I think exactly alike except your'e funny". Opening my youtube and seeing Fat Mike on Dougs Podcast made my day. I never thought I would be so happy and get so excited to listen to a podcast.
mute8s heard that
#fellow #killertermite
Well said. I feel exactly the same. I am ugly too (in addition to not being funny).
Holy shit, are you me?
Evan Goch hell yeah past that. The music has stayed very good and it keeps getting better. Fat Mike continues to do new really great stuff. If you're not familiar with it check out the musical he wrote called Home street home.
mute8s im 26 and have known of fat mike for 12 years and just discovered Stanhope last year!
I just love Fat Mike
This is on par as a crossover. I'm glad they get along
mike says ''that was my first routine'' like he hasent been doing jokes in between songs since forever. its the best part of NOFX's act, i mean show.
My 2 favorite entertainers finally meet.
BB Gun big Mike was on episode 200 as well
I was thinking the same fucking thing!!!
I met Mike in 1996 during the “Eating Lamb” tour in London, he was a total asshole. Smelly was sorta an asshole too. They were having coffee outside the venue. I still love them though.
Amazing how many other ppl feel the same as I do here- Two of my all time favorites together at last! Two unabashed successful outsides who don't take shit from anyone and live on their own terms while I die in a cube lol.
Well said and i couldnt agree more, homie!!
Don’t know how I found this 3 years later
i love when musicians and comics get together, always good.
"Anything can fit in your ass in a dollar store" - Doug Stanhope
2 icons, each a hero in their chosen field, just shootin' tha shit. They even have a lot in common with regard to matricide, drug use, and speaking freely about their sexual proclivities. I worship both of these guys because they are the best at what they do, and their work has had a profound effect on me on a personal level. Even though he seems oblivious to it, Doug Stanhope is Punk AF. and Fat Mike made me laugh more than a coupla times in this conversation that I wish they continued to record well past where they left off.
Slayer Snacks
Hahahaha
This was pretty surreal.
Wish there was a video for this
My two heros.
Fat Mike wheezing like he's hooked up to a CPAP machine.
Keep in mind that he's probably been drinking for like 5 days and is most likely on cocaine.
holy fuck yes ive been waiting for this!!! ahhhh thanks so much fr this podcast Stanhope & fiends!!
I love both these men! The greatest two in their respective fields of all time!!
That’s hilarious bc Doug is one of the most punk comedians ever. For some reason I always figured he listened to it at least a little bit when he was younger
Fat Mike was great in Movie 43
Wow thank you for teaching me a new word today, ive never heard of matricide before haha
Superhero team-up in the vein of Batman and Superman.👍🏼
I had the guitarist from Slayer pegged as a chip hog.... I fucking knew it.
"I made this one guy give me a ten dollar check...I wanted to be a professional!" Ah, I love you, Fat Mike! PUNX FOR LIFE!
I totally feel standhope has punk rock in him more than just the music is concerned . His overall perspective of life and the system is very punk.
He's very punk rock in his own way. Oddly enough, he follows ska band, The Interrupters, on Twitter.
you'd be wrong,... he's more REO Speedwagon, than NOFX,.. check out his old shit with his hocky hair mullet.
"Anything can fit in your ass in a dollar store." -Stanhope
I love the story about the Hideaway Bar at 1:12:10
god why the fuck is Murphy there?!
Why do the birds go on singing?
thanks for commenting this so i can avoid the podcast all together. Doug brings lameasses from time to time.
His non-comic friends are consistently funnier than his comic friends.
Phil the Stalker wud up!!
see you on a lot of the podcasts
It's about time
Wankers!
Slayer snacks
Love the nofx.
I don't shower much... I totally smell.
#killertermites rise
Doug please come to NC!
love the book
also gave you a review on Amazon
...and for the second book as well
34:53 lmao "worked out"
Kinda tired of hearing about fat Mike's sex life. I got into NOFX in 7th grade as a band who dealt with a lot of different topics & had a sense of humor. These days it's almost like exclusively "fat Mike & the S&M show"
What happened to Andy’s molester tape?
I've had a love/hate with NOFX since the get; I've (for the most part) always enjoyed the jams but have always felt they (fat mike in particular) try just a bit too hard to be "punk" and it comes across as stereotypical and disingenuous.
in my fuckin' opinion
Hell he's even more punk than me!
I actually thought the same thing for years...Pretty sure thats just him lol
Two of my favorite writers. One for music and one for comedy. Both are dark souls trying to find their way in this dumpster fire called life.
Have to listen to this later!
David Cassidy did strange things to my dog when I was a child!
I mean, Fat Mike did strange things to my punk, BDSM dog when I was a child.
Me too. We had a support group but our therapist told us to take drugs instead
Rip Gary Floyd from the Dick's
T16 Machines Within
dirk bowman f all the haters
got a gun, terminator gun
Take 13 benadryl and smoke some weed, jeans.
F the haters. F ALL THE HATERS.
Stab Basket and Kilt Shame
Awesome
I didn't even know this was a thing
Just a bit after an hour into it someone wins big on a slot machine
i love nofx but i always thought that book was probably shit lol, never gave it a chance. if dough says its good then ill have to check it out
It is the most entertaining, riveting book I've ever read.
i live in argentina and getting it here is pretty hard so im listening to the audio book. it feels a bit lame i know, but its cool cus they are the ones that read it! im actually really liking it.
mchepen it was dark. It wasnt a fart and joke book. It has funny parts, sad parts, and really dark parts
mchepen it’s good.. plus u can find the audiobook for free on RUclips
It’s a good book, should probably check it out before deciding what it is lol
Fuckin love you Stanhope. Would watch your podcast more if there was video, but still you're underrated. And you know it :)
Guys/girls: please don't listen to Mike's advice of having to "pull the hood up". It's very ignorant to think all girls like that. If she is highly sensitive it feels like torture and you will get kicked out of bed.
lady space The mythical clittoris?!!?
You where a kilt because sheep are scared of zippers
Doug is punk without knowing about punk is the same I always thought. Eric Andre a bit too, some of these clowns might have talent.
I love Stanhope, I try to listen to all of his podcasts/content.
But goddamn, I cannot listen to the sound of a fat person breathing. 5 minutes in, I don't expect it to get any better from here on out...
Please consider editing/re-uploading :/
Every nofx song of the last 20 years sounds the same
Kevin Guziec well that’s just simply not true
Someone doesn't play music
Bull shit.
at first it was interesting to hear someone who was this open about there fringe sexuality but it got really repetitive and harder for me to bounce on my boys d as the interview progressed. also his band is soft and weak.
Benjamin Bradley im gay and fat irl
fucked reality soft and trash
@@freeassange8864 lmao close but no cigar. Listen to their Mystic shit. That's as hard as they got.
@@freeassange8864 death of john smith is such a sick song.
That was terrible
Nofx is cool ,but they are pop punk.and kink is overrated, but Mike should take him to Gilman or a warehouse show.Crash worship type show...
vic aldama wrong
Blah blah blah. The music is good. That's what fuckin actually matters.
I absolutely love fat Mike
