For some reason, this theme doesn't gives me the feeling Hau had on his theme... It kinda feels more serious, somehow...? I mean, he's the champion's younger brother, so I think he has some knowledge with competitive battles. So maybe he's the friendly rival, but he will be battle seriously regarless of his role. Like, even though he has the starter weak against yours, he already has his own Pokemon! So yeah, maybe Hop become one of the best rivals. He is nice to you, but also a hard opponent! I like that.
I'm liking this theme, but it feels more like Hop's encounter theme than a battle theme. It sounds a lot more like a route theme or something that would play in a place like the Battle Resort than an energetic battle theme imo. I guess if I end up hearing this in an actual battle with him I'd probably feel more different, kind of like Hau's theme.
