I own the 149 calligraphy flex, and my favorite is the elbphilharmonie
Elbphilharmonie is the most classy looking one imho. And the calligraphy flex has the most exceptional nib ❤

I really like the Albert Einstein edition. I would like to get this for my son graduation gift.
The Einstein hands down. I come from a science background and would love to own one one day. I also love the Beatles special edition as well :)

Great share Samuel. I got my first 149 back in April with the release of the original collection, the 149 origin. It is my favorite pen and writes like heaven. I love the Elbphilharmonie edition. Extremely exceptional.
Piece of trivia: The seal of Hamburg is not a “tower”, it’s meant to represent the Hamma castle, a Viking fortification that founded Hamburg (and was actually only a palisade fort) and later was interpreted as being the “gate to the world” - a common phrase for Hamburg as Germany’s biggest port.

I really enjoyed this video, thank you. I have the 149 Calligraphy flex, and I absolutely love it. Since I got it in 2020, I've had it inked continuously and use it almost every single day, my favourite fountain pen bar none. The flexible nib is magic! I would love to get my hands on a MB Albert Einstein. Well I can dream about it for now. I recently acquired the MB Donation John Lennon fountain pen which is gorgeous. Don't see much info in the fountain pen community on this pen, would love to see this one featured in an upcoming video if you come across one.

Great video Samuel, thank you. Non Montblanc question, why do some of the high artistry pens such as Namiki have no clip, or rollstop? I would think just the thought of one rolling off of a desk would be cause for cardiac arrest.
Probably to enjoy the lacquer painting without any visual interruption caused by a clip. It‘s a typical japanese pen thing.

I have a 149 Flex from the Hamburg store, the last one. At the time they offered me one of the last Elbephilharmonie (I didn't realize it was a limited run) which I said no to, and I said no to the first Orient Express before it was even released. I regretted not buying the Orient Express the next day, but it was a Sunday, so nothing I could do, and by the time I got back home they were already sold out.
If the Einstein counts as a 149, so should the Homer - I will never understand why the Homer is not more popular.

I’ve tested the Calligraphy at the Hamburg boutique and as a flex pen it’s actually pretty disappointing compared to proper flex pens (e.g. the Pilot FA nibs). The other are nice, but I think I would rather go for a 90 anniversary model or for a vintage 149. I wish MB would offer more variety for their nibs, imagine a 1,1mm stub (or better proper italic) or an architect option. The sad truth is that MB nibs are great performers but also pretty boring.
