Very Dear . I must appreciate your lovely voice and must admit that you are the best Ghazals singer . Keep going and give us opportunity to listen to you again and again. Wish you all the success and many good years to come and enjoy your lovely voice. Jasbir Magon
Through sheer hard work, perseverance, dedication, and professionalism, Hariharan Saab has been able to curve for himself a pride of place amongst the prospective ghazal singers of the country ! As a matter of fact, he has developed over the years as a versatile singer proving his worth in every aspect of music for the last several years -- be it classical, modern or playback singing in films ! What is even more important is the fact that whatever he has attempted so far, he could do it with such perfection and finesse ! The discerning music lovers expect much more from this all round talent in the years to come ! Hat's off to Hariharan Saab for his impeccable track record and stupendous contributions to the World Of Music ! -- Amarendra Borah, Former Commissioner and Secretary, Finance Department, Govt Of Assam (India).
Hariharan's name is the combination of two Hindu Gods i.e Hari(Vishnu) and Hara(Shiva). True to his name,he is equally at ease with both Carnatic and Hindustani Music styles. May God bless him for his soulful rendering all these years.
Muhammad Iqbal Saab/ Balachandran Sathymurthy Saab/ All Others Who Are Concerned, Your comment has come to my notice only today and therefore, this belated response! After the emergence of the great Mehdi Hassan Saab, emergence of Hariharan Saab is the next best thing to happen on the ghazal horizon of India ! Hariharan Saab has clarity, quality, depth and wide range in his voice which is eminently suitable for ghazal gayiki! He has complete control over Sur, Taal and Loy which is so essential for a successful ghazal singer! Besides, Hariharan Saab has a style of gayiki which is so unique to him ! It's always a better option to have one's own independent identity than being a mere carbon copy of someone else! During the last couple of decades, Hariharan Saab has metamorphosed himself into a versatile singer by excelling in every aspect of music -- be it classical, modern or playback singing in films! The illustrious career of Hariharan Saab spanning over almost four decades of gayiki speaks volumes about his abilities as an exceptional exponent of ghazal gayiki! Does he require any other certificate/ green signal/go ahead from any other quarter ; and least from a novice like you or me! Propriety demands that one should be a little pragmatic and magnanimous in accepting the reality and in calling the spade a spade! Hariharan Saab's style of ghazal gayiki is strikingly different from the great Mehdi Hassan Saab and Ghulam Ali Saab! It's an altogether different issue that both Mehdi Hassan Saab and Ghulam Ali Saab are great in their own right in their own individual way in the individual genres of music! However, We -- the Indians -- hold the great Khan Saab in very high esteem and feel very proud of his achievements, being a compatriot, since he hailed from Jhunjhunu, a small hamlet in the state of Rajasthan (India) where sixteen generations of his family lived! Perhaps, Indians are more open hearted and magnanimous in appreciating the compositions of the great Mehdi Hassan Saab and Ghulam Ali Saab and in giving their due than our Pakistani brethren ! To be very frank, we should endeavour to enjoy the divinity of music, as it is, irrespective of whether the singer is a Pakistani or Indian or for that matter, any other nationality and concentrate our absolute attention on merit alone ! To be very true, a true connoisseur of music always steer clear of political and religious controversies ! Politics and religion have got nothing to do with music ! Music is above all sorts of meanness and narrow-mindedness! Infact, music is universal in its appeal and all pervading in its domain! Needless to say that the spiritual level of an individual goes several notches up in appreciating the goodness in others ! -- Amarendra Borah, Former Commissioner and Secretary, Finance Department, Govt Of Assam (India).
Hariharan Saab's voice is eminently suitable for ghazal gayiki because of the quality, clarity, depth, and range of his voice. His reign over the ghazal scene of India is expected to last over a period of time. One gets overwhelmed with emotion whenever he is exposed to his soulful renderings.Perhaps, because of such rare abilities, he has been rated so highly by the connoisseurs of music in so far as ghazal gayiki is concerned!
Sublime! Serene ! Soothing ! Soulful ! Hariharan Saab is the synonym of soft, soothing, and soulful music ! Here, in this ghazal, if was as if the beautiful lafz of Shahryar Saab had found its right expression in the soulful voice of Hariharan Saab with the exact feel, as depicted in the kalam ! To be very true, Hariharan Saab is just Incredible as a singer ! --- Amarendra Borah, Former Commissioner and Secretary, Finance Department, Govt Of Assam (India).
Here, in this ghazal, Hariharan Saab was lending his mellifluous voice to another great Shahryar Saab's poetry( Andhian aati thi lekin kabhi aesa na hua) and the end product was a gem. Hat's off to both of them!
Its really sad that we cant listen one song fully,in between how many advertisement ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
This could be any gaekee but surely it is not ghazal gaekee, dry and boring, I think the listeners are south Indians with little understanding of Urdu Ghazal that's why so much clapping for nothing.
+Abel Forest What non-sense you are talking about,If this is not ghazal then what is it ? Can you elaborate?. Such a divine music it is that even people having little sense of music will be spellbound by its melodies but people like you know only to criticise let alone enjoying good music.
Abel Forest Saab, Your comment has come to my notice only today and therefore, this belated response ! At the very outset, let it be informed that the URDO language, one of the finest in the world, had taken roots in India and people like Hasarat Amir Khusrusaab were instrumental in its emergence! We have quite number of eminent URDO writers amongst us -- Indians -- Munshi Premchand Saab, Jan Nissar Akhter Saab, Raghupati Sahay Firaq Gorakhpur, Kaifi Azmi Saab, Shahryar Saab and Gulzar Saab, to name a few. Further, Karnataki Classical Music is as old as Hindustani Classical Music and is accepted by the pundits of both the styles of music as such!! So, it is not always safe to make sweeping generalizations! Any way, would you kindly come forward with your definition of ghazal and what are its salient features! You are also requested to clarify specifically as to why and how Hariharan Saab doesn't qualify as a ghazal gayak and what are his major shortcomings as a ghazal gayak ! Kindly make sure that your clarifications are furnished in this forum at the earliest since the reputation of a singer of the stature of Hariharan Saab is at stake! In the event of your failure to do so within a reasonable period of time, it will be presumed that infact, you are not in a position to substantiate your stand and instead, you are actually envious of the growing popularity of Hariharan Saab and had an ulterior motive in insinuating Hariharan Saab so as to sully his image as a prospective ghazal singer and obtain vicarious pleasure thereof with a view to satisfy your own selfish ego! Needles to say that it's not fair to cast aspersions on someone without any plausible reason or evidence whatsoever! It goes without saying that the singing style of Hariharan Saab or for that matter, any other singer can't be bad simply because it doesn't suit the taste of a particular listener! Under no stretch of imagination could this rendition of Hariharan Saab be termed as below par or substandard! Those who dislike it, may either have no music sense at all or they don't have a knack for good music! Have you got the guts to furnish your response in this forum, along with all information as sought for herein above, forthwith? -- Amarendra Borah, Former Commissioner and Secretary, Finance Department, Govt Of Assam (India).
