LL COOL J DISSES RAPPERS TOO BIG To Come Out For HIP HOP 50, Doesn't Mention JAY-Z But Crowd Agrees!
I am so happy and grateful to LL Cool J for remembering and paying tribute to Whodini! Those guys are my family and with the passing of Ecstasy, it was very difficult for us to cope with. From the bottom of our hearts, Thank you LL for remembering the legends in my family, Whodini!
But it was disrespectful how you played Jalil
Very underrated and one of my very favorite hip-hop groups, my condolences to you all🫂

Everyone forgets Whodini. They were right there at the top with RUN-DMC, PE, and BDP. You could also include UTFO. LL was easily the biggest solo artist, then Kane, then KRS, and you'd reverse that order if speaking best emcee; although LL for many replaces Kane behind KRS. Man, the sheer variety of Hip Hop until the mid-90's was D-O-P-E AF!!!

I am more than proud to see LL doing what he's doing. The fact that he knows the lyrics to somebody else's song is saying something about his musical tastes and respect!!! Go L!!!!
Love that this happened, this is a Roots MO though. They not only do other hip-hop artists at their shows, but other musicians. They did an Immigrant Song (Led Zeppelin for those who don't know) cover at the last show I was at that was 🔥🔥🔥🔥! Matter fact, I think they did LL I'm Bad too.
I commend brother LL Cool J for doing his part to keep old school hip hop alive because without them there wouldn't be a rap genre.
LL is a legend, I'm 50 years old and I've been a hip hop fan my entire life. LL COOL J was my first favorite rapper, he taught me how to be cool, how to be sexy for the ladies and everything. I love this guy, I mean this 🐐
Not to mention he's the most successful rapper turned actor with movie roles in every genre and his own series. He might not be the best ever lyrically but he was always solid and never failed to rock the crowd. An absolute legend.
Im 47 he was my first favorite too.. solo anyway.. Run DMC was my group.

@@KrishnaSingh-ow1ie 💯 if you have a problem honoring the genre that made you then I don't think you should remain in the game profiting off of the fans you show to care nothing about, plus I knew he was that way since the late 80s from what he did to his own brother, to how he used those who put him on, done dirt to his ride or die folks yeah I'm never surprised by the shady mess he does and never supported him cause he's flawed and homie can't get down with that.
@69TT the one thing I hate about him. They tried to erase biggie legacy. He always tried to do that. When biggie was destroying the game. Nobody did even know who this guy was, know they tried to make it like biggie was irrelevant . But we have to blame ourself because where the one going buying there product. Jay Z and other recent rappers feel they're to godly on a certain level to perform and pay homage to the culture that gave a lot of them a better life than they would’ve ever had- proud of LL for addressing the issue
Jay-z is supporting his wife and young daughter by following them on their world tour. Can the man fcking live. He's released over 15 albums as an artist and put on many artists (Kanye, J Cole, Wale, Beans, Just Blaze, etc). He's also created Made in America festival which gave rappers a platform. Ya'll think about Jay-z way too much and if we're being honest Jay-z is still music relevant he doesn't need to do legacy act concerts. He can drop an album and do a stadium tour.
Yes it’s pretty pathetic really, they do it to keep themselves relevant or COOL but there’s nothing uncool about paying homage to A CULTURE that gave u the life u enjoy now , someone or something inspired them to pick up the mic in the first place , so pay respect, it don’t cost nothing 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️

I know L.L. is the Goat 🐐 an all, but he's really putting this legacy of rap on the map.
NYC and him never mentioned James Brown , James Brown started that movement and his music carried it. I'm Black and I'm Proud.
I agree 100, and then add in George Clinton and Parliament/Funkadelic
yes they did... you didn't pay attention
James Brown is not mentioned because James Brown was not a hip hop artist. He was a pioneer in R&B and Soul music. A lot of hip hop music sampled James Brown. Hip hop music would not be the same without James Brown. But he wasn't a hip hop artist. Hip hop music sampled so many people.
Also, I would give James Brown the moniker of being one of God Fathers if hip hop because of the many songs that were sampled but hip hop sampled so many other artist. Artist whom didn't even want to be associated with the genre unless they were getting a check for their work.
Hip hop always respects Parliament and the godfather of soul/funk James Brown.

For one, it was Whodini’s concert that started LL’s career. For two, Whodini was left off most of these Hip Hop 50 lineups! Including LL’s show! So him doing this was sort of a slap to the face. As far as people not coming out…. If people feel that event was wrong for excluding certain hip hop pioneers, why would they want to be there?! I didn’t go because I disagreed with the unfair ticket prices. People from surrounding neighborhoods could literally hear the entire concert from their homes, but could not afford a ticket to get into the event! The cheapest tickets were $91 for the super nose bleed seats!
Maybe they asked and the members of the group said no
Preach! Big arena hip hop shows are ZzzZzz for a fan.. A few 90s throwback shows are coming through town and nosebleeds are $125-$150. Literally no stage show. Just running back and forth.

If Lil Wayne can show up Kanye and Jay could. And Eminem. Word
Kanye lied about his money and even begged Forbes to list him before they ever did at 1.7 billion. MJ was definitely the highest paid player in the league. Do your history.
