    Just got one! It’s amazing and completely suits my lifestyle. Fast startup, simple and small size all packed with cafe commercial grade features. Only thing I realised is that the group head is really tight and if you don’t intentionally tight it, it will start to leak around the portafilter when brewing.

    I have this machine, and found that the 21 gram basket (needed to order) gave the best results.

    Love the fact that this is done in one take!
    I love the La Marzocco brand but the machine is a bit too twee for my clumsy hands

    Another fantastic video again Luke, I have the Linea Mini, needs to go to the doctors though. When not brewing coffee, I just leave it on, now every now and again the pump kicks in for a second or two, opened it up but can’t see a leak anywhere. Someone has suggested that it might be a vacuum breaker, it will maybe do it about 5 to 6 times a day.
    Thank you so much for inviting my cousin for a coffee and a wee tour of the roastery, I have messaged her and told her.
    Kind regards to you all from Scotland,
    Johnny
    P.S. Luke I have sent an email to your company, hello@artisti, once again, thank you so much again.
    Johnny

      Thanks Johnny! Yes we got your email! The pump will kick in if the water in the boiler is removed by steam. A machine will always use some water as it’s loosing steam all the time even when idle

    I have a mini right now and I am replacing the mini with the Micra. Mini is flawless but for the 18 months I have owned the mini I have used the steam just thrice, so all I need is a smaller machine that just makes espresso daily. My ideal LM would be something like a ECM puristika made by LM.

    Hi Luke, my Micra since December '23. The only improvement is that I wish they could redesign the pump pressure screw to be external (like on the redesigned Mini). I keep it at 7 BAR for all round use. I converted my 7 year old Mazzer Mini-Timer 58mm to SSP Red speed "Brew Burrs," which is the same as the 64mm multipurpose burrs. Yes, it is possible to get great tasting light roast espressos with the Micra (using the reservoir). I also use a top puck screen (Normcore, with a hole in the middle).

      Thanks for your info, we can’t have it all, the boiler rotation to save space is the outcome they were after, maybe a aftermarket option for pump pressure will come up. Interesting about the red speed burrs, 👍🏻

    would you recommend the micra for a small coffee cart doing pop-ups and small events? or would you say the mini is necessary?

    • @basedakali
      @basedakali 6 дней назад

      You would need a mini for that. With micra, the machine needs to boil after about 6 shots. It's not able to pump out shot after shot, but the mini can.

    I own one. Negatives: small space under portafilter. Very short want makes steaming some milk jugs difficult. Steam capacity is strong, but large lattes will drain it to nothing. Quick recovery but end of a large latte and you’re out. Finally and my MAIN complaint: most things need the app. You can’t even turn it off (except full power off) without the app. I would buy again, but it has weaknesses.

    • @ystebadvonschlegel3295

      @@chrisH-uv5wx I only have it with my wife's preferred huge latte (20 oz or a bit more). "normal" drinks don't have the issue and it gets back to pressure by the time you're ready to pull another shot.

      For the boiler size and machine size it is fantastic compared to other brands. Yes a bigger machine will be better but you can’t have it all. Cheers luke

      Agree with small space in the portafilter. The steam wand not an issue, just use the right jug. Steam power is awesome. In setting 3, I can steam 120ml of milk in 7 secs. The biggest I’ve done is 260ml of milk in about 25 seconds without any lost in power (just make sure you start steaming when pressure is going up and right to the end). Same 260ml in my breville dual boiler used to take 1 min

    Do you need the basket to brew 2 Espressos, or is the black double outlet attached to the portafilter sufficient?

    • @ArtistiCoffeeRoasters
      @ArtistiCoffeeRoasters  4 месяца назад

      You can use either but the portafilter attachment with the two spouts is what you need to split the shots.

    If there's no timer, do you just stop it manually by weight?
    Can't use scales with timer because there's a non constant delay of time start VS extrusion weight increasing..
    or do you conjunctionally start a stop watch making it a two hand operation?

    The review of the hardware itself is one thing, but the app is so integral with the Micra and the Mini that it’s surprising it wasn’t covered.
    I’ve heard that owners regularly complain that the app disconnects and is buggy. Is that true?

    • @ArtistiCoffeeRoasters
      @ArtistiCoffeeRoasters  5 месяцев назад

      We did not experience any issues in our testing, but yes it seems to be the common issue being talked about. I will investigate further. Apps can be updated easily, do you all have the latest version? Cheers luke

    • @stevengalloway6323
      @stevengalloway6323 2 месяца назад

      I’d say the complaints about the app are overdone. Maybe in the past the app was of lesser quality. It’s not a perfect app today but I’ve barely ever had any issues with it. I also don’t think the performance of the app has much to do with the day to day use of the machine. Sure you may need to adjust boiler temp from time to time, but you’re not constantly needing to do that. And even if you were, the app works fine enough to do that well.

    to be honest the one reason I decided against one is in North America they only provide a one year warranty which is ridiculous at this price point

    Is a large cafe latte 8 oz of steam milk? The Micra machine does not look like it steams that many oz. Your drink was small; looked no more than 5 oz. Please clarify

  • @jeroensbbq620

    Does the linea micra also work without the app, or does the connection no longer work?

    • @stevengalloway6323
      @stevengalloway6323 2 месяца назад

      If by “work” you mean does it turn on, get to temperature, and steam, then yes. It works without the app by simply turning it on. However if you want to change the brew temp or steam power you’ll need the app to control that.

    "I own a Linea Micra. Whenever the steam boiler is off, the coffee brews fine. However, when I switch on the steam boiler to make a hot drink, the next shot I pull runs much slower. I suspect that the brewing temperature drops, causing the shot to slow down."

    • @dbenalcazar
      @dbenalcazar 5 месяцев назад +3

      The micra is dual boiler, and the brew boiler wouldn’t let you pull a shot until it reaches the target temp. Also lower temp shouldn’t slow your shot down.
      I’d be getting in touch with LM customer service, because mine doesn’t do that.

      @@ystebadvonschlegel3295 Nothing like that with my Micra. Either there is a problem with the machine, or, your power outlet is bogged down and cannot handle the wattage from the steam boiler. If that is the case, an electrician is in order.

    • @ystebadvonschlegel3295
      @ystebadvonschlegel3295 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@markw-2025 Power unit cannot be "bogged down" either the circuit handles the current required or it blows. How often do you do LARGE (i.e. 20+ oz) lattes? I can get it done but the steam is very weak at the end. Standard size drinks it's no issue and the re-heat is very fast. But the capacity for very large drinks definitely is marginal. Maybe an edge use case, but putting out there for others who have wives that like a little coffee with their steamed milk, lol. (Oh and yes it's on power 3 level). Maybe we do a test - put the steam on full power and start a clock and let me know how long before the steam coming out starts to be weak? Would be interesting to see if there are intra-machine differences. I've had mine a year now.
