Mayonnaise is great for water marks but you can also use any soft nut - like pecan or walnut - and rub it on those tough spots. Nuts are also great for removing scratches. There is also a product called Restor-a-Finish that would work as well.
Thanks for the info!
Wow! That Mayonnaise really brought the wood grain out as well as made the water stains much less noticable.
Do you ever use a little soapy water to clean your baskets? I buy them from time to time and do not know how I should clean them so wondering if it would ruin the wicker.
I use Dawn to wash my cast iron pans. I just don’t let them sit in soapy water. Learned that from mom and they are perfect.
OH MY GOODNESS JULIE.... WENT SHOPPING AT GOODWILL YESTERDAY WITH MY MOTHER.... GUESS WHAT I GOT FOR $6.99 LOL I SQUEELED AND SAID THIS IS LIKE JULIE'S!!! SHE SAID LOL WHO IS JULIE.... IT IS THE SAME BEAUTIFUL PICTURE OF THE GENTLEMAN PRAYING I THINK OVER BY YOUR FIRE PLACE......
Way to go !!!😊
It sounds beautiful
Oh wow! How fun! 🤩 I’m excited for you! I love mine too!
I hope to find one soon. They are hard to find.
Yay 🎉 I have one too! One day, if I have my own home again, I’d like to decorate my kitchen around that picture. Love it ❤
I like both the basket and the brass planter..i think I'd leave the brass planter down on the hearth or on the floor by the table and the basket on the table. I like the size of it on the table better and like you said the color looks good there too. The brass planter is large enough to sit lower.. that way you can have both out! I love a your picnic baskets & how you have them stacked.. looks really good. I really love the black piece you put the little light in.. since i love collecting all sorts of lamps, i'd love to add one like this! Looks kind of primitive too, which i also love. I like where you placed it, looks really good😊 Wow the table turned out pretty good.. Nowhere near as bad as it was! Its such A pretty little table. I like where you placed it with the plant on it, so pretty! I'm definitely going to remember the mayo trick in case i ever need it! Thanks for sharing how you styled your pieces & for passing along to mayo tip😊
Everything is styled beautifully as always!!! I did the mayo trick on my great grandmothers solid oak dining room table, it had one stain about the size of a saucer on it. It worked, but was gonna need a second treatment. I put the mayo on and later on I came to check on it and there stood my 25 pound puggle Winston on the table licking it off 🤣😳😂 I also use Dukes, won’t buy anything other kind, of course it’s the most expensive 😬 the table is definitely an antique and also has the matching buffet!!! I’m 69 and it was my great grandmothers, so no telling how old it is!!! It really helped your table, I can tell a big difference!!! Peace ✌️ Love ❤️ and Thrifting 🛒
Lol, my kid’s cat is Winston, love him to bits.
I was wondering if she would find the cat on it, licking it.
Julie, I do love the brass pot, however, I think the basket looks light and airy and is great for summer.!! I've been watching your daughter's channel and I love her too! Beautiful, sweet and genuine...like Mom👍❤
Thank you! 😊
I'm thinking the basket does look a little more summery with the brass " heavier" for fall.
Okay, I left a comment with my tried, and true towel and iron water stain, removing method, which I have done for years, and I’ve always been blown away by its success. But after watching you with the mayo!! I am changing my ways. Ha ha ha! I do use mayonnaise on sandwiches and macaroni salad but I cannot stand the smell of it so I don’t know if I’m gonna be able to do it without gagging, but I’m going to try it on my latest rescue from the roadside table😂🤣
The table came out nice 👍 did you ever find out what the blue and white thing with the screen lid is?
Let me know how it turns out!
I got several comments on what people thought it was but no definite answer yet.
Love it when you share 2 videos a week, thanks for sharing what you did with all the thrifted finds
You are so welcome!
Hey Julie… yes good job w/mayo, when I tried it on a dresser yrs ago, I was told to leave overnight. I hope you choose to do, looking forward to Friday. My 2 grand Girls & I thrifted yesterday (Monday) ❤️ it. 🌸
Then maybe put old English on it to cover stains and scratches and give a shine. Looks good after Mayo.
Happy Sunday Julie. I always give a like to your videos for others to see it. I like all your pretty basket. Take care. 🥰💖💞💖
Love the table and how you styled it!!🥰
Thank you! 🤗
Mayo was a nice trick 👌. ❤the table, and the couch nice and comfy, like it with different colors of pillows..
Would you believe....way back in the 60s one of my older family members would wipe Miracle Whip on the leaves of her pathos plant? Shiny and sure removed dust!
I believe it now.
Love your Lounge Julie it looks so so cozy ❤ The Wooden Lamp base / Table next to the Lounge is lovely .
You can use ketchup for silverware it really works i love the ideas from the kitchen great stuff thank you for sharing this video 🍄 much love a follow from California xoxo
Wow Julie ! Can’t believe it ! Table looks excellent to my eye . You’d have to look really hard to see spots. Table looks great where you placed it .
I love the picnic baskets piled up .
The plant looks good on table in basket .
And brass planter works where you moved it !
Punched Tin piece is cute in kitchen .
Thanks for extra footage today . Look forward to Friday’s video .
Bless you and your beautiful family and stay safe throughout your heatwave !
Marilyn ❤xx
Thank you so much!
Hi Julie the table turned out so pretty when I was a teenager we use to use mayonnaise to condition our Hair it always was so soft afterwards ❤ thanks for sharing ur home is so beautiful Laura
Loved the table before and AFTER the mayo! 😜 BLESSINGS!!!
Your home is always so beautiful 😊 that plant table looks great!
Thanks so much! 😊
Oh Julie. I love your thrifted items and how you style them !! Your home is absolutely beautiful !! Thank you for sharing
Thank you so much!
The mayonaise really worked so well! I've heard that before but never tried it. I like it with the plant on it.
Hi, I love that little table but that dry wood round you put on really takes away the beauty of it. Maybe with the stool you needed it but not now. Just the plate to catch the water. If you want it, maybe stain it to match but I don't think you need it at all. Do rest of table with oil to feed it to match top! I love everything but just thought that dry wood round took away the beauty! Not trying to upset you!
Thank you! 😊 It definitely does not upset me.
I agree. The wood charger covers up the beauty of the pie table. Just use the Currier and Ives plate.
Well, how about that?! Fix yourself a sandwich and repair furniture at the same time. Love it! Great tip about the full-sized pillow, no rules. Thank you ma'am! Blessings 😊
I am going to try the mayonnaise on my dining room table. The table belonged to my husband’s grandmother. We had a house fire several years ago and half of the table was destroyed but an antique refinisher was able to rebuild it for us. I will keep you posted on the outcome of the mayonnaise.
Wonderful! Please let me know!
Julie it was amazing how much deep cleaning the mayo did . I could see some difference difference. I love the star tin night light in your bathroom . I did enjoy what you did with your thrift items .❤❤
Yes Ibwas going to type mayonnaise before you mentioned it🎉🎉🎉🎉 .
The table looks great,,much better. Maybe try washing it with Murphys oil too , I love the stacked picnic baskets. I saw your idea and used it myself.. love all your ideas.
Everything looks good..I enjoy your videos...take care.
I am going to try the mayonnaise on my grandparents table that I have. Thanks for the tip!
The basket by the couch looks more summer to me
Baskets are used year round. As a basket collector my baskets are many shades of brown. Some are the same color. Some are even white.
Maybe use a beeswax paste in a color.
Sorry is it called a stain? I'm not sure but it isn't a paint color. It's beeswax of some kind.
You might wash liner and then put it back in after you sun dry it.
Love all your fines!! The table looks nice.
Thanks so much!
To remove water stains, taking a towel and dry iron to a water stain has worked for me. The stain has to be pretty fresh though. Also consider using Restore a Finish and some fine sandpaper or very fine steel wool to get the tough stains. Another method is use vaseline, just like you used the mayo. The mayo made it look soooo much better though! Good job.
Julie,
Enjoyed watching this video. Great finds. So amazing how the Mayo got most of the stains out of the table. I love the table and how you used it.
Julie your videos are such a pleasure to watch. I can’t express enough how much I like them. The mayonnaise hack definitely made the table look much better. Who would ever of thought to do that. Thank you for always posting such wonderful inspiring content. God bless you dear friend! Marion
Love that little black nightlight!
Thank you! 😊
A few old books stacked under your little primitive light would be sweet..❤️❤️❤️love all of your finds.. some great treasures, indeed ❤️❤️
The brass planter on table and the small planter on fire place.
My mother used mayonnaise to dust and shine the leaves of her house plants! Lol. They were beautiful.
Your husband and mine say the same thing.
Styling of couch is super cute!,
Thank you! 😊
Girl! You used DUKE’S?!! You must have gotten it for free.😂 I would have gone to the Dollar Twenty-Five (and going up) Tree. Thanks for sharing though. Blessed be.🙏🏿
Wow Julie the table looks so much better who knew mayonnaise could remove those water spots I have heard of people putting mayonnaise on their plant leaves to make them shine but never had heard of using it on wood thanks for sharing❤😊
Thank you! 😊 I was definitely blown away.
OMG JULIE, you are amazing!! Thanks for all the tips! The mayonnaise trick is unbelievable..❤❤ see ya Thursday
You are so welcome! Thank you! 😊
I really enjoy your videos and your home is very beautiful!
The mayonnaise trick done the job. The table looks amazing from what it did look like great job. All your finds turned out beautifully. God bless and have a wonderful weekend…..🍃💗🍃
Your cast iron pan looks like what Mexican resturants bring your sizzling hot fajitas to your table on! Nice!
Yes, that’s what I thought ok!
I’m like you- I looove pillows- my mom told me one time if I ever needed to raise some money I could sell some of my pillows 😂😂😂 She’s been gone 5 yrs now😢 the mayonnaise hack is AMAZING 😯😯 wish you could figure out something else to put on the little table- the wood is too beautiful to cover up😉
HAPPY TUESDAY in June Julie, family, and fur babies. Thanks so much for all the ideas and tips. LOVE your home. Cozy and comfy. Love the mayo hack. STTB
Thank you! 😊
Julie, I love your videos. Also, it is fun to watch you style your finds. Your wood antique table is beautiful! The mayonnaise trick was fun to see. But, be careful! Paper towels are made from wood and can scratch the wood on your table. It is best to use soft cotton cloths to clean your wood furniture. I love old cloth baby diapers. Thank you so much for sharing. ❤
Love your tiered display of picnic baskets!! As far as the mayonnaise, I would wonder how you would remove the mayonnaise smell.
Everything came out lovely. Love the pie table. The basket on the side needs a bit larger plant. Love the color of the pillows. The couch is perfect for just being comfortable. I like that. I really enjoy how you decorate and your lovely personality. You are a delight. Can't wait for the candle making that will be fun.you take care blessings to the family. ❤ Deana
Everything is styled so beautifully Julie , and who would have thought mayonnaise would get rid of watermarks ! Have a wonderful week ❤
Omg, I just bought a paper log maker! I put faux greenery in it. ❤. I love watching your videos!
Hello Julie from the UK.I wanted to thank you for all your entertaining and inspiring posts and especially the mayo tip.I have just tried this on a number of marked tables in my home that I thought I was going to have to spend time and money renovating and they have been transformed.I am amazed and very grateful.Love to you and your beautiful family x
Love the little skilett.
I love a lot of pillows on my caoch
I have my favorite standart pillow on it to with my favorite floral cover
I need a lot of support for my back
Definitly gooing to use the mayonaise trick too
Rings not completaly gone, but way better
That little table is so beautyfull
I always love your styling
Thank you for sharing
I love, love that table! The other day when you showed the water stains I thought about suggesting the mayonnaise trick. I have heard of that before, but haven't had any water marks to try it on. So, I'm so glad you tried that and it looks beautiful! Tfs❤
I have started scrubbing all my purchases-you’re a great influence!
Thank you!
I had no idea about mayonnaise trick. Definitely going to try that. One thing that stood out to me is how nice it conditioned the wood. The wood grains looked much more vibrant. You have found some great finds! Just got a cast iron pan too recently. Great idea to use the salt. Love your videos. So many great tips!

Happy Wednesday! I enjoy watching your videos and the way you show how you style your home with the items you thrift. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for sharing your thrifted items, all looks great and very homey...you are a joy to listen to...😊
Thank you so much!
i love the way you decorate...you are so creative !!!!
Wow, I love how the table came out. I love comfy pillows and throws on the couch, too. I think the couch and the basket with the plant looks really good and they compliment each other. Can't wait for the candle making vlog. Have a great day. I look forward to your next video. 😊
Thanks so much! 😊
Hi Julie it all looks beautiful 🌻🌼🌻
Thank you! 🤗
Mayo is good for your hair too
You just ever wonder who one day decided to rub mayo on their table to remove water spots.😂 I'm glad it worked, and I need to try to remember in case. Julie put you some felt on the bottom of the plate and ditch the wood piece on the little table. It hides too much of the table (in my opinion).
The table looks very beautiful good job ❤
Ironing over the water stains also works. You place a piece of fabric on the wood and just iron on the fabric. It releases the trapped moisture.
Wow! I have heard about the mayonnaise trick on water stains but have never tried it. Thanks for sharing that with us. It did a really good job of removing the stains!
Never clean old wood with water. I have a retro tv from the 70’s and the top is so dried out and easy to water stain! I learned early to never wipe it down with a damp cloth. If I don’t have feed n wax I will use olive or coconut oil and let it sit on it for at least 30 minutes! I can’t wait to try mayo!!! The wood round looks totally out of sync on the precious little table!
Love the little table! Looks so nice instead of the bar stool. The little black lamp really changes the look on that counter top. Very pretty. You have a good eye for design.
Julie, you find some really nice things. But I love that little table, it's so pretty. It looks good by the fireplace.
Everything looks amazing! Have a blessed week!
Thank you! You too!
The mayonnaise did a lot! I have my husband’s grandmother’s dining table and they watered plants on the table. I am going to try the mayo on this table!
Mayo magic! Good to know! Great finds - I love that blanket.
OMG! I knew about the mayonnaise trick, but I never used it. The table came out great.
Thanks so much! 😊
I always learn from you how to "style" some of my things....one in particular, the blankets on my couches. I just did this today and FINALLY! They look good! Thank you! And yes please, more pillows! lol!
awe, thank you ☺️
Julie ur a magician with your finds. Your so creative. You are very smart to take that liner apart. I use to buy things at pawnshops and heard abt bugs living in the tvs 📺
Thank you! 😊 and oh gosh. Ewwww
My precious Mother use to use mayonnaise to put on her house plants, to clean the leaves and make them shine. I guess it was good for them too.
Wow mayo
I have heard that a broken section of a walnut rubbed on scratches will remove them.
Also, I think outside-the-box for items like you say 💪
With the pillow in the couch…watch tv? That is for taking a daily nap.
I think the table came out perfect. One thing about a table we are always putting something on them, so no one will be the wiser. Tfs😊
Thank you! 😊
Wow! That mayonnaise trick is amazing! I’m going to have to try that!
I think that table looks great. I think whats left is just looks like part of the wood grain.
Love this video! I’m also invested in Elizabeth’s kitten now
On the table rings... itcworks better if you rub it with the grain of tge wood after it sets in.
That mayonnaise trick amazed me… the table looked much better
I would put the brass pot down in the basket, it will stick out and you’ll see both of them.
I don’t think it will fit 😩
@@ThrilledThrifter oh well. Was a thought, that basket will look beautiful wherever you put it.
The table looks fantastic!
I love your videos!
I remember my mom using mayo to polish her wood and remove water stains.
I like the basket.
Julie you need a crochet doily on the little round table instead of the round wood piece
I'd definitely keep the basket instead of brass planter.
❤
Hi Julie I'm watching your video of decorating your house with the things that you found at Goodwill I love the idea of the picnic baskets stack up in your room I have several of them and I didn't know how to use them in my decor do you put anything in them? or are they empty
About the mayonnaise that sounds awesome to use the mayonnaise to take stains off tables you know what you also could use it as a conditioner in your hair you leave it for an hour or overnight and your hair is manageable and beautiful I used to use it when I was younger I haven't used it in a while well thank you Julie sorry for the long comment
Thank you 😊 and yes I actually store a lot in my baskets. Candles, seasonal clothing, ribbons, material, dishes. All sort of stuff no apologies needed on long comments. I love reading them.
Love the stand and I think mayonnaise was a good idea❤
Thank you! 😊
