I’m struggling between the Desert Guide and the Hardscrabble!! Any suggestions beyond the obvious waterproofing vs. breath ability! I’m assuming the Desert Guide can be treated to shed water. How’s it for western states September archery?

Tough question as it all depends on the terrain you are in! However, out of all the September hunts I've been on, there are few where I would have taken waterproofing over breathability. The Desert Guide is still a leather boot so I'm sure you'll find it plenty water resistant for your September hunts. But again that's just my take, I haven't personally ran that boot.

The Huntin' Fool - I’ve got the Kenetrek Mountain Extremes which are waterproof/bulletproof...so if these Guide boots can repel water and breathe well, with a bit of advance planning I can swap under adverse conditions to my fortress boots! 👍

The Huntin' Fool - I did contact Kenetrek and they indicated that the outsole is more aggressive and pliable then on the Hardscrabbles sole, which makes them better in slick conditions...(like wet, slick blowdowns!!) I had a pair of the Lowa Tibets that were like ice skates on blowdowns!! Sold em!!!
