I love seeing the obscure corners of our hobby, like beetles, I'm happy I found your channel with this video!

Love your sun beetle set up, stunning! The pupa are bigger than I thought they would be.

Some are much larger than the beetles, crazy as they start around the size of a hair

Thanks for this. So many videos are just a quick run through the very basics of keeping critters. It's good to see more of the 'mundane' maintenance and how to do it without losing anything. Thinking of getting some of these very soon and they will be my first beetles.

      You are more than welcome.
I’m very aware that some of my videos may not excite many, but I do them for me to document my routines etc. so glad it was, or may be, helpful in the future.
These beetles are a brilliant observation pet. Thanks for the comment.

We have the sun beetles they are great. They got the kids interested in bugs and inverts. There also nice and cheap to get.

Yes - some of the "feeder" grubs arent as healthy initially as the captive bred for pet grubs, but they are still cheap and a decent bug. I love the citrus smell they make.

Cool video Matt. Cool beetles that you have. I'm always having to check something for breeding, it's fun. I've been having problems with getting bramble. You don't realise how many creatures need it. I may purposely try and grow some 😸.

I like Beetles but am still creeped out with the Grub stage though lol the Spiny Devils (Eurycantha Calcarata ) are AWESOME I have a colony of them had them for years I mainly feed brambles but I have heard of them eating Oak, blackberry, raspberry ,fire thorn , ivy, chestnut , hazel and rose leaves too but I stick to what I know Brambles plenty here lol and removing the new growth from the Brambles stops their enclosure from being infested with green fly too i found that out when I first got them the green fly lay their eggs in the tightly packed new growth leaves I also shower the leaves down before I put them in with them freshens the leaves up and gets rid of unwanted hidden bugs lol
