10 days self drive trip in New Zealand South Island

- It was my priceless memories to drove a motorhome around the South NZ with my girls! Not too hard to explore the car but it really takes time to figures out, but it was fun for sure! I marked 10 out of 10 to all my drivers!
Our itinerary:
Day 1 Christchurch - Day 2 Lake Tekapo - Day 3 Mt.Cook - Day 4 Wanaka - Day 5 Queenstown - Day 6 Milford Sound - Day 7 Dunedin - Day 8 Oamaru - Day 9 Christchurch - Day 10 Home

Any surprises on the campervan rental? We are headed on a similar itinerary next week with a motorhome... Dunedin and Omaru are not on the list for us, would you recommend the addition? (just spending extra days in queenstown).

Is it actually comfy to sleep in a camperfan for 4 for the wholetrip? And do you have to spend much on petrol and campingsite?
For me I think its quite comfortable, because we got upgraded to 6 pax motorhome for 4 of us, so it's big. We only went petrol station three or four time for the whole cheap, is not that expensive. Campsite is really depend to what kind of campsite you looking for, there is public campsite which is free, but without power supply.

@@adrinalee3297 oh yeah by the way, did it felt rushed by only spending a day for each destionations? and if given the time, which would you rather skip or spend more time on?
@@frostchen8406 ya..it's rush, i wish we can spend more time at queentown and lake tekapo. I personally don't really like Oamaru except for the penguin there, I prefer nature rather than town. Oh ya one more tips :) Milford sound is far, but totally worth it!

My country drive on the left side too. It's not hard, u will be fine.

you need check whether it's peak season. We prebook some of the famous campsite like staying infront of lake tekapo, on my video 0:57.

Hi! yea we have, but we did not use, we went shower at the campsite everyday, most of the campsite provide bathroom.

I can't remember exactly how but i think they got our credit card record but not $7500.
Hope you can share how did you book all the activities u did specially the tekapo spring (since you havent seek the help of a travel agency) and the accomodations you stayed at. Thanks in advance!😊
Is 7500 for the motorhome rental collateral? Can’t you just buy full risk insurance?

It makes the trip more convenient, where you don't need to spend time on check in/out to every places. Also driving along the beautiful scenery is amazing.
