Hemlata, Suman Kalyanpur, Aarti Mukherjee, Sarda, Anuradha Podwal - all were extremely talented singers but I believe the Mangeshkar sisters dominance on music directors didn't allow these soulful talented singers to come up and become popular. The result is true music lovers deprived of listening to these fine singers. I'm a huge fan of Lataji and I must say that these singers may not be as good as Lataji in voice and tonal quality but could give her tough competition if they were given more opportunities.
If it so, then today Lata ji, Asha ji are not singing. And there is no competition, no dominance. So how many great female singers are coming up?? How many of them matches to the quality of Lata ji??
i completely agree with bheem raju, last 40 years i am listening to Hindi tunes great voices like hemalataji ,suman kalyanpurji,arti, anuradha and sharada etc, were simply sidelined by many musicians because of industries dominance of mangeshkar sisters .though within the limited opportunities these singers could manage to get their identity under the shadows of great mangeshkars. in my opinion, Bollywood could have give chances at right time to get best out of these soulful voice of their genre, its great loss to Indian listeners and the world music lovers
listen songs of old movies "MAHAL", "ANDAAZ" before 1950 and tell all those fools who shouts that suman kalyanpur's voice is similar to lataji. This is half truth. Lataji's voice has changed after each 20 years of her huge career. Neither suman kalyanpur nor anuradha paudwal , hemlata, vaani jayram has such wide range of career.......Do not cry that all of them not got songs..........monopoly is not possible for 70 years.........lata ji is simply great and her hard work, dedication, blessings of god made her legend

i completely agree with bheem raju, last 40 years i am listening to Hindi tunes great voices like hemalataji ,suman kalyanpurji,arti, anuradha and sharada etc, were simply sidelined by many musicians because of industries dominance of mangeshkar sisters .though within the limited opportunities these singers could manage to get their identity under the shadows of great mangeshkars.
in my opinion, Bollywood could have give chances at right time to get best out of these soulful voice of their genre, its great loss to Indian listeners and the world music lovers
listen songs of old movies "MAHAL", "ANDAAZ" before 1950 and tell all those fools who shouts that suman kalyanpur's voice is similar to lataji. This is half truth. Lataji's voice has changed after each 20 years of her huge career. Neither suman kalyanpur nor anuradha paudwal , hemlata, vaani jayram has such wide range of career.......Do not cry that all of them not got songs..........monopoly is not possible for 70 years.........lata ji is simply great and her hard work, dedication, blessings of god made her legend

हेमलता जी महान गायिका हैं और रहेंगी । कितने संगर्ष उन्होंने किये इस मुकाम को हासिल करने में, ये उनके द्वारा सुनायी गयी अपनी जीवन की कहानी में झलकता है । लोग तो गाने सुनकर झूमते हैं पर उस गायिका का दर्द कोई नही जानता जो छिपा हुआ जैसा कि हेमलता जी ने बताया 1990 के दौर में कई तरह कॉरपरेट के आने से गाने में बदलाव होने लगे और अच्छी गायिकी और गायिकाएं गायक वास्तविक गाने से दूर होते चले गए चूंकि अब सिलेक्शन कारपरेट के लोगों के हाथ में था किसे गवाना है कैसा गाना होना चाहिए । उस समय से पुरानी फिल्मों का दौर भी खत्म होता चला गया और फिल्मों में फूहड़ता ,द्विअर्थी संवाद , यही दिखाई जाने लगी और फिल्मों का स्तर गिरता चला गया ।

Hem lata ji aur Jaspal Singh ji ke jodi hit rahi. Unhonay bahut he respectable songs gaye. Abhi bhi Hem lata ji ke voice young girls jaisi hai.

Lata's voice has changed after each 15-20 years. No doubt that suman kalyanpur's voice very similar to lata mangeshkar, anuradha paudwal is also good singer. but please donot compare them with lata mangeskar. Lata mangeshkar's career is so huge. Lata is great singer due to her dedication, intelligence of music, gift of god.
