Back in 67 my dad had a red 64 convertible 390 automatic on the floor red white top I was five at the time driving up to 84 lumber on 309 north of Allentown the good old days
I have a fully restored black with red interior 1963 1/2 Galaxie 500 XL "427 "R" code car. See my profile photo. Very unique car because the side trim has red stripes. All other 1963 Ford Galaxies have black stripes in the sides trim.
@@dondoes4303 I bought a 406 tr power manifold, carburetors linkage and air cleaner for $50.00 in 1968. Put it on a 427 in my '66 fairlane. Ah. The good old days...
I had one of these XL's back 1987... put a strong 460 with electronic ignition, swiched it to alternator, and put an AOD trans in. With 3.73 posi. Then she ran good. State of the art 1963
Not currently able to afford such a beautiful car, but just out of curiosity, what are you asking for it? A few more years, and I'll be seriously looking! Thanks in advance!
Beautiful car! My favorite cars are the 63 and 64 Galaxies, especially in the 500XL trim!
Beautiful machine 🖒
It's an awesome ride, for sure.
Nice looking 👍👍👍👍👍👍
looks like an early ‘63 with 405 horse tri power 406 before the top oiler 427’s were offered?
Yes bored and stroked to 435 CID
@@dondoes4303 Its a beauty Don. Always liked the XL interiors. Very flashy when these were new. Remember them well!
We sold it at auction yesterday on Hemmings. It’s going to a very happy owner in the North East. A genuine “car guy”.
Lucky man. Very good find.
Discontinued mid-year 1963. Replaced by the 427.

Gorgeous car. Same color combo as my 63 fastback.

Love love LOVE my '63 G Code. Doesn't matter where we go or who we're with EVERYBODY loves the Rangoon red raider 🚗
Would love to see it! Actually I just looked at it on your channel! Love it!

This is the 406 with 3 twos and electronic ign. Runs like a beast! Manual 4 spd. 4:11 posi rear end.
When I was in high school a local Mennonite hat a single-4-barrel 427 4-speed four door liike this. Had the chrome painted black.
There’s something seriously wrong about painting over all that chrome. My 1st car was a ‘63 500 XL 4Dr, auto with 390.
Needs driven ! I drive mine all the time.
We sold it two weeks ago.
I love square tops.
Stupid wheels!!
Not sure what you mean? They are absolutely the best looking wheels on these long body Fords!

@@dondoes4303 its worth more than that!
Anything less than 55k is a steal for that car. I have yet to see another 406 at a car show, not in the 2 years I've owned mine.
Beautiful, rare car. Thinking this is probably Ford's retaliation to Chevy's 409.
