I enjoyed this video a lot. Love these two steps dance and the choices os of music. I enjoyed every dancer. Each had its own techniques and styles. Beautiful!

Solid advanced novice-intermediate WCS by US standards. I would have given couple #3 (094) first place for musicality and creativity. Interesting that all dances were to Michael Jackson songs. I've never seen that done. However, I LOVE to dance to MJ music so I would have been in dance heaven.
When I was teaching for Arthur Murray and Fred Astaire in 60's and 70's..male and female had to wear professional dance shoes for all dances including West Coast Swing
@salsageordie West coast swing is a dance that moves forward or side-to-side. So.... not likely to do a moonwalk.... Can you do a moonwalk while doing salsa dancing?
What do you not like about this? Have you done WCS before? They did not know what music they were going to get until right before.... so it's all spontaneous.
@Annie Been I mostly dance Lindy and specialist shoes have done nothing for me, but a lot of my friends do WCS and Lindy and wear the same resoled sneakers to both.
I've danced on a lot of different dance floors. Some of them discourage the use of heels. The floor that they are on looks like that type. Also, there are different styles of WCS around the world, so maybe this is the style for their community.

They're at a 4 day convention and casual is the way WCS goes. They're wearing professional dance shoes. No one wears the ballroom fashion in WCS.

Interesting. Last I checked Swing is a street dance that's best danced in street shoes, but maybe different scenes have different standards?
