@@guesswho6902 Never found out much, the only lead I got was that it's automatically set to Razer Headset, and not THX, so just use Razer for now, because apparently it uses THX, somehow.
so i've had no sound for days when trying to use "thx spatial" as my audio device in the bottom corner of windows.... i finally figured out for now why there was no sound.... on the USB audio controller there is a toggle to adjust the sound between game and chat... with thx selected as default audio push the selector towards the game side until you hear sound... seems simple but it took me 3 days to figure this out. apparently after a fresh install of your drivers and synapse the default setting seems to be the whole way towards the chat sound option on the USB audio controller causing no sound to come out of the headset...
It would be cool to include The THX Spatial Audio For free for owners of razer headsets that support's it. Because i have a Razer BlackShark X V2 and i don't understand how to get Spatial Audio.
Recently bought a the razer kraken ultimate headset and the spatial audio is not working properly for me. All channels sound the same so it is impossible for me to tell where a noise is coming from in any game
@@hypiro5941 if you search up “mono audio” in settings it could be turned on. Turn this off, I found that this was turned on by default on my computer and could not find a single video highlighting this simple fix.

Congrats, Y'all managed to mess something that aint broken with the NOV 2023 update. Come on, fix this thing man. The THX Spatial audio device output is gone and your BIG GREEN THX BUTTON INSIDE THE APP DONT WORK AT ALL.
Wait wait wait... so I bought the Razer Kraken TE and installed Synapse 3 on my PC. I've set THX Spetial Synapse as my defaul device and don't hear anything. I have to change it to the "Razer Audio Controller - Chat" to hear something. But to be able to hear something on THX Spetial Synapse, I have to pay additionally 25€ for the THX Spatial Audio App? Do I understand this correctly?

I have a Blackshark v2 (comes with thx) but there isnt "THX spatial audio" in playback devices, I reinstalled synapse but there is only "Razer USB sound card" as playback device
I have no audio coming out of thx spatial even though in the app the output audio is set properly and thx spatial in the control panel is set to default.

@An Evil Scotsman so no one really seems to get it... ill try to post this loud and clear everywhere i can..... THE THX APP (STANDALONE) is a separate premium product from your headset. You have to pay for it if you want it. HOWEVER!! for me, with my Razer Kraken Ultimate, and WITHOUT the standalone app, THX works just fine. Rather, if i turn on Call of Duty: Warzone, I get new options in the audio mixer section of synapse. Most programs have Stereo and Stereo Surround.... where as games that are made with high end headsets in mind, get 2 different kinds of THX spatial surround... one was "environmental" and i cant recall the other off the top of my head. now....to my last lesson for you guys.... (and im not 100% because i havent bothered with the standalone app).... it appears to me that the extra THX program is simply a software expansion for your headsets surround capabilities.... meaning, if you want to "true THX spatial sound" with all your apps and games, you need the app. Im pretty sure thats the gimmick they are running here... To be fair, Im sure the app does all kinds of extra cool shit but i havent even tried the trial....as a "streamer" the last thing i need is another sound mixer....() since I got this headset i havent played any other games then Warzone, so afaik, the Synapse version of THX will work on every sound output with enough sound channels.... but tbh i havent read that much into it yet.... and finally as a bonus.... the people having issues with their sound settings... its likely a problem in the original windows sound settings.... not the windows 10 settings but the kind from all the way back to XP..... you can find it in the control panel or the easiest way is from the volume mixer.... here is a screenshot... so you literally cant get lost. prnt.sc/PtQ8EaWZ6IRh However... if your issues are something directly related to the Standalone app.... then i cant be certain this is your solution but I would bet on it.
with the new update without THX Spatial audio as its own separate audio device All the bass i used to have in the songs and games are all gone. Everything ive tried wont work
bought a razer barracuda x, since the headset is not supported by Synapse I also bought the THX Spatial app separately which is awesome however every time I turn on my computer it would not allow me to control the volume through windows on the THX Spatial. Is that really how it should work?
so i got the nari ultimate headset and installed the sperate app before finding out what its was and now i have no audio out of the spacial device both for and not for synapse

I bought the razer Kraken v3 headphones, and installed the synapse 3 program, but to use THX 7.1 on these headphones I also have to buy the THX spatial audio program ??? Or is it already included in the razer synapse 3 program?

I have the same question. But I've found that choosing THX only in either "playback device" on windows or on the toggle switch in Synapse yields best sound quality. Activating both seems to, well, "double" the THX-ness and makes a muddier sound quality. If you want to do THX through synapse just select the sound card as your output device. I am not 100% sure on this stuff, as it seems rather contrary to directions I've found online. Selecting only one seems to still yield some form of spatial audio, but it is very possible that it is falling back to a stereo. Maybe I'm simply confused and selecting THX both in synapse and playback device truly is the only way for spatial audio with the blacksharks. But at the end of the day if true spatial audio sounds that muddy maybe it aint for me. Month late but maybe someone else finds this helpful, or can finally answer the question.
With further investigation, I was simply confused. Select both THX spatial audio as playback device and toggled on synapse. I'm going to use stereo for most things still though, with audio not built for THX it sounds muddier, so would recommend doing the same and only switching to THX when you play a game with it supported.
Hey there, I have a question. So every time I disconnect my headset or turn it off, the razer audio tab closes and the device vanishes from synapse, so THX audio does not default back because those settings go missing. How do I fix this?
This is normal. Since you have disconnected the Razer headset or Audio Controller that has the THX Spatial Audio integrated into Razer Synapse, the Audio tab will be gone and the headset will not be listed as a connected device. @@Sgt.Hellknight Reinstallling is useless, because they force this new version anyway. You cant do anything about it until Razer fixes it, or make a new windows image before this update
Soo i kind of can use the THX again! After the newest update yesterday, I could use THX again and the Overlay didn't change. The new system use THX in the front Panel "Sound" and there you can activate THX and deactivate it but in windows it is gone for good it seems @@mrcactuar8515

Why can't I use this? I do NOT have a Razer headset. However, the one I am using (Bose QC15) is linked up through a Logitech G510's internal sound card, and I am fully able to activate Razer Surround sound via Synapse 2.0 After installing a new Razer Huntsman V2 keyboard (other keyboard is still linked up acting as my sound card) and opting to install the THX spatial sound software along with Synapse 3.0. I can find no way to get it working on my headphones. Help? Update: I unplugged from the keyboard sound card. I put a headset into my motherboard directly via 3.5mm jack. It STILL won't show me the Audio tab at all. Tried rebooting the PC as well and it still didn't work.
@LuckyS7 I contacted their tech support and they're claiming the THX audio only works with specific Razer headsets, which contradicts what I read elsewhere. I've had no luck with positional sound in general. I tried the Windows implementations of it and it's always weird and buggy. For example in Metro Exodus I get crackling if I turn it on.
THX Spatial - Synapse not showing on my devices since an update of today :( I'm tired and I just bought my headset 6 days ago. I have tried it all, even uninstalling and reinstalling and also repairing, the option is gone from devices to choose and the rest are not working. Only the default stereo Ultimate Kraken :( sad
I don't see paying another 24,99 € for an extended software equalizer. Furthermore, the equalizer overdrives enormously, since you do not lower the basic value. We know this from crappy Realtek software, Creative could do this better 15 years ago. THQ Spatial was the reason I sent my Kraken V3 X back. Expensive software, poor development.
Why the THX Spatial Audio supports maximum 16 bits 48000 Hz - DVD Quality?... I'm using it with my Schiit Modi Multibit DAC + Amp which supports up to 32 bits - Studio Quality...
i have the razer nari ultimate and when i do this i get no sound at all when setting "thx spatial - synapse" as default device and go there to try tuning. i set as "2. razer nari ultimate - game" and sound works fine but the tuning there doesnt sound right or correct how do i get "thx spatial - synapse" to work im on windows 11

After Razer central/synapse updates THX does not work anymore and I cant follow this "how to" because it simple does not work. No sound when I select THX. I have RAZER BLACKSHARK V2 - WIRED GAMING HEADSET + USB SOUND CARD with THX included... Its a noticeable sound difference. Now everything sounds bad af.

@@rzrsupport9502 Ight cool, but I found it weird as when I paired it and there’s option for 16bit 96000hz, but when I switch spatial audio like endow sonic or dolby atmos it will rever back to 16bit 42000hz. Also when I configure thx spatial to 7.1 it will automatically revert.

It's good when it works with Windows 11 but if my computer goes to sleep apps don't appear in the thx section and quite often just quitting a game is enough to do it as well. A restart sorts it out but really. Shouldn't have to do that.

can someone help me, in the normal synapse app it worked at the first day i got it, but now no matter what device I use it won't recognize that I'm running an app, so i used THX spatial audio app and it showed me that he recognized that the apps were running! but it won't let me use my output device as the default one, i even created multiple new accounts and said yes to the app saying is sould make the spatial app as default but it still won't recognize a game and won't let me use THX spatial as the default audio in THX spatial audio app, if someone can fix it pls tell me, i literally searched everywhere.
Hi,i just got the blackshark v2 pro. the synapse 3 lets me turn on THX spatial audio, but i can't find the "surround sound" option anywhere. it's just game mode, music mode, movie mode etc. how do i get it? do i have to spend $20 more to get 7.1 surround sound? or does it come with the headset itself? help me out please
@@emanuelelozito7724 well it appears that the headset does come with THX spatial audio. Just open synapse and go to MIXER. You can see a little exclamation mark beside the profile name that says set THX as default or something. click that and then turning Spatial Audio does the job in games. It doesn't sound good when i'm watching movies or listening to music but it sounds ABSOLUTELY AMAZING when i play games.

@@razercustomeradvocacy4630 Why doesn't it work for me? I have my headphones linked to the internal sound card of my other keyboard (Logitech G510) which does make things work a bit strangely. However, Razer Synapse 2.0 was able to let me use Razer Surround on this headset with the same setup. I think I just had to choose the keyboard's sound device from a menu instead of the headphones. I can't do that on Synapse 3.0 because I can't even access the Audio tab.
Is there any way to disable THX for Discord? When I launch any game THX applies to Discord as well. The game sounds good but Discord ... not so good. I selected "Stereo" for other applications in THX settings but it still doesn't work. I'm using Blackshark v2 Pro. Thanks!

I am having this same exact problem, DISCORD suddenly gets loud and it sounds like THX enviromental mode enables automatically for it, when it should be on stereo? we need a fix for this asap[

It would be nice if you made it free i spent like 50 bucks on the headset now i need to spend more also it does not work at all i have the razer black shark v2 and it says it should be able to have thx spatial without any problems and it gets rid of my audio everything not even a sound even if i make thx the main audio player nothing fixes it

I've tried my Nari Ultimate on 3 different computers and have NEVER been able to get THX Spatial Audio to work, setting it as default doesn't work, reinstalling Synapse doesn't work, smashing the headset under my car's back wheel is the one thing I haven't tried. Fix. Your. Software.
Every fucking single time that I plug a USB device THX becomes disabled, Synapse 3 says the THS Spatial it's not the default device, but Windows says it is, so what da fuck it's going on with this Synapse trash 3 app?

THX Spatial - Synapse is now gone from my devices no matter how many times I reinstall the software, amazing engeneering.

I have a Blackshark v2 (comes with thx) but there isnt "THX spatial audio" in playback devices, I reinstalled synapse but there is only "Razer USB sound card" as playback device

Yes you can, Just add application on mixer tab, and then select stereo and for that application it wont have THX Surround.
So what if after turning on THX under Mixer theres no app list just a message and i cant "add an application"
@An Evil Scotsman so no one really seems to get it... ill try to post this loud and clear everywhere i can..... THE THX APP (STANDALONE) is a separate premium product from your headset. You have to pay for it if you want it.
HOWEVER!! for me, with my Razer Kraken Ultimate, and WITHOUT the standalone app, THX works just fine. Rather, if i turn on Call of Duty: Warzone, I get new options in the audio mixer section of synapse. Most programs have Stereo and Stereo Surround.... where as games that are made with high end headsets in mind, get 2 different kinds of THX spatial surround... one was "environmental" and i cant recall the other off the top of my head.
now....to my last lesson for you guys.... (and im not 100% because i havent bothered with the standalone app).... it appears to me that the extra THX program is simply a software expansion for your headsets surround capabilities.... meaning, if you want to "true THX spatial sound" with all your apps and games, you need the app. Im pretty sure thats the gimmick they are running here... To be fair, Im sure the app does all kinds of extra cool shit but i havent even tried the trial....as a "streamer" the last thing i need is another sound mixer....() since I got this headset i havent played any other games then Warzone, so afaik, the Synapse version of THX will work on every sound output with enough sound channels.... but tbh i havent read that much into it yet....
and finally as a bonus.... the people having issues with their sound settings... its likely a problem in the original windows sound settings.... not the windows 10 settings but the kind from all the way back to XP..... you can find it in the control panel or the easiest way is from the volume mixer.... here is a screenshot... so you literally cant get lost.

bought a razer barracuda x, since the headset is not supported by Synapse I also bought the THX Spatial app separately which is awesome however every time I turn on my computer it would not allow me to control the volume through windows on the THX Spatial. Is that really how it should work?

For the THX experience, which one do I select as play back device? The razer usb sound card or THX spatial (speakers)?
I have the same question. But I've found that choosing THX only in either "playback device" on windows or on the toggle switch in Synapse yields best sound quality. Activating both seems to, well, "double" the THX-ness and makes a muddier sound quality. If you want to do THX through synapse just select the sound card as your output device. I am not 100% sure on this stuff, as it seems rather contrary to directions I've found online. Selecting only one seems to still yield some form of spatial audio, but it is very possible that it is falling back to a stereo. Maybe I'm simply confused and selecting THX both in synapse and playback device truly is the only way for spatial audio with the blacksharks. But at the end of the day if true spatial audio sounds that muddy maybe it aint for me.
Month late but maybe someone else finds this helpful, or can finally answer the question.
With further investigation, I was simply confused. Select both THX spatial audio as playback device and toggled on synapse. I'm going to use stereo for most things still though, with audio not built for THX it sounds muddier, so would recommend doing the same and only switching to THX when you play a game with it supported.

So every time I disconnect my headset or turn it off, the razer audio tab closes and the device vanishes from synapse, so THX audio does not default back because those settings go missing. How do I fix this?
This is normal. Since you have disconnected the Razer headset or Audio Controller that has the THX Spatial Audio integrated into Razer Synapse, the Audio tab will be gone and the headset will not be listed as a connected device.

Soo i kind of can use the THX again! After the newest update yesterday, I could use THX again and the Overlay didn't change. The new system use THX in the front Panel "Sound" and there you can activate THX and deactivate it but in windows it is gone for good it seems @@mrcactuar8515

Why can't I use this? I do NOT have a Razer headset. However, the one I am using (Bose QC15) is linked up through a Logitech G510's internal sound card, and I am fully able to activate Razer Surround sound via Synapse 2.0
After installing a new Razer Huntsman V2 keyboard (other keyboard is still linked up acting as my sound card) and opting to install the THX spatial sound software along with Synapse 3.0. I can find no way to get it working on my headphones.

Update: I unplugged from the keyboard sound card. I put a headset into my motherboard directly via 3.5mm jack. It STILL won't show me the Audio tab at all.
Tried rebooting the PC as well and it still didn't work.
@LuckyS7 I contacted their tech support and they're claiming the THX audio only works with specific Razer headsets, which contradicts what I read elsewhere.
I've had no luck with positional sound in general. I tried the Windows implementations of it and it's always weird and buggy. For example in Metro Exodus I get crackling if I turn it on.

why do i get buzzing noise when i enable the setting?
I don't see paying another 24,99 € for an extended software equalizer. Furthermore, the equalizer overdrives enormously, since you do not lower the basic value. We know this from crappy Realtek software, Creative could do this better 15 years ago. THQ Spatial was the reason I sent my Kraken V3 X back. Expensive software, poor development.

You do not need the standalone THX Spatial Audio software. The Nari Ultimate has THX Spatial Audio integrated into Razer Synapse. Just install Razer Synapse 3 and you are good to go.

@@rzrsupport9502 Ight cool, but I found it weird as when I paired it and there’s option for 16bit 96000hz, but when I switch spatial audio like endow sonic or dolby atmos it will rever back to 16bit 42000hz. Also when I configure thx spatial to 7.1 it will automatically revert.

It's good when it works with Windows 11 but if my computer goes to sleep apps don't appear in the thx section and quite often just quitting a game is enough to do it as well. A restart sorts it out but really. Shouldn't have to do that.

the Razer kraken ultimate headset works just fine and THX spatial audio to some extent but if a watch a video i get no sound it only works in game

can someone help me, in the normal synapse app it worked at the first day i got it, but now no matter what device I use it won't recognize that I'm running an app, so i used THX spatial audio app and it showed me that he recognized that the apps were running! but it won't let me use my output device as the default one, i even created multiple new accounts and said yes to the app saying is sould make the spatial app as default but it still won't recognize a game and won't let me use THX spatial as the default audio in THX spatial audio app, if someone can fix it pls tell me, i literally searched everywhere.

@@emanuelelozito7724 well it appears that the headset does come with THX spatial audio. Just open synapse and go to MIXER. You can see a little exclamation mark beside the profile name that says set THX as default or something. click that and then turning Spatial Audio does the job in games. It doesn't sound good when i'm watching movies or listening to music but it sounds ABSOLUTELY AMAZING when i play games.
So, does THX Spatial work on playback devices without a 3.5mm jack? Like USB only speakers?
THX Spatial Audio is compatible with Analog (3.5mm), Bluetooth and USB headsets.

@@razercustomeradvocacy4630 Why doesn't it work for me? I have my headphones linked to the internal sound card of my other keyboard (Logitech G510) which does make things work a bit strangely. However, Razer Synapse 2.0 was able to let me use Razer Surround on this headset with the same setup. I think I just had to choose the keyboard's sound device from a menu instead of the headphones.
I can't do that on Synapse 3.0 because I can't even access the Audio tab.
Is there any way to disable THX for Discord? When I launch any game THX applies to Discord as well. The game sounds good but Discord ... not so good. I selected "Stereo" for other applications in THX settings but it still doesn't work. I'm using Blackshark v2 Pro. Thanks!

I've tried my Nari Ultimate on 3 different computers and have NEVER been able to get THX Spatial Audio to work, setting it as default doesn't work, reinstalling Synapse doesn't work, smashing the headset under my car's back wheel is the one thing I haven't tried.
