LIU: A College Hockey Program is Born in a Pandemic

LIU hired head coach Brett Riley a month after announcing the rollout of the 61st NCAA Division I men's college hockey program - coming Fall 2020.
The 29-year-old was hired last spring, in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic. Recruiting and building out his vision in such a short window was a challenge. Coaching the Sharks to their first ever win in their first ever game was the reward.
