Managed to pick up a week old white dial for $2750. Hasn’t left my wrist since. Has knocked my Oris and Tag Heuer watches firmly into the watch box. Love my Breitling!
Thanks Rob, we not always agree on style but I bought one basically due to your reviews. I went for the complete blue one in 42mm to commemorate the birth of my daughter.
Getting mine tomorrow for £2100 new from a store and can’t wait, that’s cheaper than pre owned on eBay right now And it’s on a rubber strap ,the only difference
I agree with you . One of the best dive Watch.every six monthes i come back to this vidéo and looking this Watch . In us Amazon in 2021 the white one was 2900 $ and i was stupid to not buy that Watch . I’am in France but i bought some Watch in us Amazon . Their prices were more twice cheap than french. My Another mistake : in 2020 seiko sarb017 was 450€ but i didn’t buy 😢😢
A helium escape valve is only required for saturation diving, where helium is mixed with oxygen in a compression chamber. Helium atoms are small enough to pass through the seals of a dive watch and must be able to escape in a controlled manner when the watch is decompressed.
You can work around the issue by unscrewing the crown when your decompressing you know that one time you decide to saturation dive 😀😃🙂. To scratch it off your bucket list you know what I mean 😉
Couldn't agree more, the SO 42 is just a fabulous watch. It is not staid or boring, has oodles of personality and the Orange dial is perfect for summer wear. I have the black dial version and have either the blue or orange on my radar next. I would have said the 44mm yellow will fit you perfectly, I find the 42 wears a little small even on my small wrist lol
Looked for a while for second hand white dial but none came up. Ended up buying brand new for 15% discount. Would like either bigger date window or none. Too small for me. Time keeping great so far. Went to Breitling store for bracelet resize in London. Really helpful. Resident expert said inlay was not DLC but something else that I can’t remember that is as hard as DLC, not KVM either as you say as on prev edition. On the fly would be good but meh. Ring the Bond Street store and ask. Bit weird they don’t say what it is on the site but then they don’t tell you what changes they make the ETA movement they start with. Missing a trick. Guys love that nerdy stuff.
I just picked up my white dial superocean42 as well! brand new from Retail as I could not find any one the 2nd hand market lol, maybe it's just that good that no one wants to let it go! XD
I have 5 Breitling watches I have told myself no more. But a Yellow dial and I'm wearing one tomorrow 💛 night. The only thing that bothers be about this beauty is it power reserve at 38 hours with a 12 watch collection this would be living in a watch winder. But I have a yellow 97 NSX 💛 and this watch would be so great with it at shows and car events I would definitely get over the power reserve.
Just got my 42 in black on a braclet, including a new rubber and a nato, for way less than 3k! I don't regrett at all going for second hand on this one!
@@NormalRitter yeah , I have found the black and blue one second hand for like 2500-2800 dollars range here in Norway, but not the orange. And if I buy from foreign seller I will have to pay 25 % taxes so it will be the same price as a new one
Those Breitlings are just perfect on you Rob. It's one of those "that's the perfect watch for that guy, and the perfect guy for that watch" moments---rock on! I'm an Omega SMP300 guy myself, but have been tempted to add a BSO42 a few times and just might one of these days, esp as I also love orange (I say with a blue dial Edox Chronorally S on a bright orange rubber Strapcode on wrist)...
The new Aquaracer is a fine watch too if you don't mind the slightly larger size (43mm). The Aquaracer movement is not chronometer certified, but has a ceramic bezel if those things matter to you. In terms of price, it will undercut the SO considerably on the gray market so that makes up for any perceived shortcomings in my book. If I were in the market for an Orange dial diver, I would probably go with the SO as the Aquaracer styling is to close to the wave dial Seamaster (which I have already).
Damn it Rob I just tried on these and am now looking for a way to justify buying it. This isn’t helping lol. Literally these are the 2 colors I tried on also.
I've been looking at this watch for quite some time it's just out of my price range. I really like the looks of this watch. Thanks Rob 🙏 Do they make it in a smaller model ?
They know that maybe 1% of their customers will ever need it or even miss its not there. I have one on two of my divers and know I'll never have a trapped helium issue. My 🛀 isn't that deep.
For $3k i want a watch that will last a lifetime. I keep asking myself how the vulcanized bezel will look in 30yrs ? Ceramic can last 100yrs. Not sure about rubber.
I bought this watch based on this review just before the last stock went. So glad I did, it stands out for anything else within that price range
I bought one 6 months ago and it’s an awesome watch it fits like a glove on my wrist. I just love it.
I have exactly this model in 42mm yellow but with the date. So nice the yellow color.

Thanks for the review Rob! If it had a 3 at the three o'clock position I would be sold. Just can't get past not having symmetry.

Thought the Submariner was is your favorite dive watch
I just picked up a blue 42 from the tampa breitling boutique this past Monday while on vacation!! LOVE it!
I live in Tampa. International plaza has some awesome watch stores. You can basically hit everyone at once. Love Mayors

@@robertsullivan4773 I'm more likely to go to space than do a saturation dive - which is to say, "not very likely!"

Yes ! Please make the yellow in 42. I would love to add it to my collection also.
I hope they will launch a yellow 42 variant, that would be amazing
The white dial is amazing....
Where the date window is there should be the number 3. With that date window I consider this watch a factory defect.
On the third that will happen

A no date yellow in 42 would be instant buy for me even at full MSRP. And I already own the 42mm orange version in the video!

Wow the NSX. Don’t see many of those.
Which are your 5 Breitlings?

Love my white one. Wearing it daily.
If been a fan of the 46mm SO. In the green color way it's titanium so super comfortable on the rubber
Or put the date at 4:30; white numerals against a background colour matched to the dial.
Hey Rob have you reviewed the yellow dial one ? I thought u had , but I can’t find the video on your channel
Best watch is the one you love to wear , and don’t need to think of babying it … congrats Rob!
Lovely, just get rid of the date and its spot on.
Agreed.
It would be cool to see a comparison with the new Bell and Ross models that look very similar - Thanks for the Vid
I am so close pulling the trigger on this, visited my AD on friday but no discount given. Its this or the orange aquaracer. Cant decide 😥

BSO for life
100 percent
Love these bold divers.
I love that watch. I can't wait to buy it from you when you flipped it. ;)
Pelly's jelly now.
I cannot decide between the SO42 or Pelagos. These videos aren't making that decision any easier....
Upvoted!! Way off topic but is the gshock solar ga2100 coming to the usa?
Yes June I think
it would be irresistible if this watch was offered without the date
This breitling, versus new tag heuer aquaracer 43mm orange. Which one is better?. Thanks for movie😊.

I wish they would do the orange in a 44mm.... in fact why not do ALL colours in ALL sizes??
Your way right away!

💟
Yes indeed, ditch the date & so have 12, 3, 6 & 9 for definite....
I've been looking at this watch for quite some time it's just out of my price range. I really like the looks of this watch. Thanks Rob 🙏 Do they make it in a smaller model ?
I just looked they do make it in 36mm
I also like the Longines Hydro Conquest .
I got the Longines Hydro Conquest four months ago and love it. The current version can be bought new for $1150 or the older model still new for $909.
My Doxa Sub 600T doesn’t use a helium escape valve either. I’m curious how they make that work.
They know that maybe 1% of their customers will ever need it or even miss its not there. I have one on two of my divers and know I'll never have a trapped helium issue. My 🛀 isn't that deep.
Will the clasp from the rubber strap fit on the stock bracelet?
The 42 in a yellow dial would be perfection!
top AR coating 😬. that scares me.
38 hour reserve right now is a joke
Thanks again Rob. But that's hideous

It’s DLC not rubber
I stopped watching at "... 50 lug to lug"
I see you have your mother’s wrists.
Those tilted center links are triggering my OCD like a badly misaligned bezel
