This chant would usually be in Russian, so this is a rarity.

It astounds me how so much truly beautiful music is virtually unknown outside the orthodox church. This is one of the true blessings brought about through my conversion; the discovery of an ancient tradition that is so true and so achingly beautiful in its practices, its art, and its music.

This is my favorite chant in English. It awakens my heart every time.
Here is an update of the translation into English to match the track. Some sections of the translation in the comments are not sung. I put those parts in parentheses. The only other difference is that they are singing a different English translation, e.g. 'shall' instead of 'will'. Here ya go:

@Joseph last night tears came as I sang along for an hour to my favorite hymns. I was in the choir for 10 years. It was my life. Divorced over a year ago and abandoned and searching for meaning, I was homeless, mom took in this Christian and homeschooling mother with no where to go. I'd have been in a shelter
He handled finances so, suddenly I find myself with ruined credit, only a part time job, unable to finance a car and mine was being repossessed and unable to rent an apartment. I worked to my current and much lovelier circumstances. Last night I listened again to the hymns that were once my life in tears alone.
However, when I woke up to your unloving and hyperdox criticism, I remembered why I walked away when my marriage fell apart and I was so alone I wanted to die. A new woman sat at my table with my husband of 16 my 2 children, my dog, my furniture and served dinner in my place. You stand in judgement, but have you known the hell of being outside in the driveway, still married officially, and trying to get your spouse to interrupt the life that was once yours and bring your daughter's social security card outside so that you can enroll her in school??? Do you even begin to know my story? Do you even care beyond the word repent?
I met him in college. ..At the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. We had both chosen to go into ministry as young people. He studied to be a music minister and pastor. That almost happened but was short lived...the next 16 years aren't even necessary. The abuse, the abandonment, and the broken dreams.
Before you speak, seek council with your priest and ask if its helpful to call a woman so scarred with life and broken to repentance from your naive place of judgement. Maybe it is I who should call you to repent. "Father, Forgive them, they know not what they do".

@@peto983 they have a version by the same monks, I also heard it in Slavonic at St. Theodosius Russian Orthodox Church in Cleveland (the church in the movie THE DEER HUNTER) that was an experience.

I may be wrong. But I don't think this is Znamenny Chant because there is ison. Znamenny charts are unison and melismatic.

I can transcribe them for you. Although this is Old Church Slavonic, not Russian ― as you would hear in a Russian church. It's understandable to Russian ears.

It's not a true traditional singing of "Znamenny", songing on video is performed in poliphonic manner and it sounds more like a "bysantine greek", when the "znamrnny" should be perfomed in unison.
