I’m an evening runner and with Fall season upon us here in the 🇺🇸, it time to transition to the flashy gear. I ran 3-4 times a week last season and first started with my bright yellow bike jacket but that often got too hot and I end up taking it off and tying it around my waist. I ended up just going with a winter long sleeve but most my run gear is black. On cold days at or near freezing it’s my run winter vest over a long sleeve. I do use reflective wrist and leg bands but a head lamp is a must for me. I used my trusty Rock River head lamp which produces a nice 350 lumens on 2 CR123 batteries. Countless times the 30-40 yards light projections on the road has saved me from cars coming out of driveways or side streets. My run paths are very dark and it is a must to see and be seen. This season, I’ve ordered a reflective vest and plan to upgrade to a 500 lumen headlamp that uses rechargeable 3500 li-ion batteries. Some really don’t like head lamps or a head torch but key for me is something light weight and snug. I often suggest to folks if it’s bothersome for a head lamp that to wear it over a cap worn backwards. People have told me a headlamp worm over a cap or hat isn’t bothersome or they don’t think about it. Or maybe I just have a big head? 😂
I was looking at that chest torch in other reviews! I’ve got a couple of other chest torches already, but wanted another one! Definitely going to buy the one featured, as it’s the best seller. As a trail runner, personally I find wearing both a chest torch and head torch the best. One or the other can make the ground look very 2D, which is not great on trails. Both together really give better definition. I also like the fact if I look sideways for any reason the head torch illuminates where I look, but my path ahead is still being illuminated by the chest torch.
Looks like a nice bit of kit. I definitely tend to sway more towards a headtorch, ive tried a chest torch in the past and I found that the light infront to guide you would sway side to side which I found really disorientating so i just use headtorch instead
I’ve just purchased a chest light. Really great, some reviews said it was really heavy, but for me not too heavy either, which is fab!!! Mine doesn’t alter though, hopefully I’ll still be able to see 👀

Awesome gadgets! My hydration pack has reflectors but only on the back and I usually run against the traffic so I can see what’s coming so I attached 2 reflectors from a motorbike to the front straps and PRESTO! 🏃🏻♂️ 💪🏻

Thanks for watching and commenting ✌️
I'm new to running in unlit areas at night. I am not sure if I should get a head lamp or a chest light.
I prefer a chest lamp personally

Awesome work 🤩
In a cold climate all that plastic isn't an issue I guess. Not at all desirable if it is warm.
Just run on the bright side...
