  • This video goes over what the benefit is of these heavy duty rear shocks for the 2017 and newer Yamaha Drive 2 Quietech and how to install them. These upgrade rear shocks not only come with a stiffer spring but are also slightly longer than the OEM shocks. This extra length will help with clearance issues while running a 20" tall rear tire with 4 passengers.
You can find these shocks on our website - powerequipment...

Excellent video. Clear and precise instructions. Not too short, bot too long

What lift do you use? I like the idea of getting the cart off of the ground to work on it.

What my problem is is that I guess my camber is off. I do have a rear seat kit on the cart but rarely use it.
The rear tires do not look out of camber but I wore out the INSIDE of BOTH tires prematurely. Hardly any wear on the outside of these tires. This tells me something is not right and likely the camber.
Will these shocks likely fix this issue? I was running good radial tires (not cheap!) and it was very disappointing that I had to replace them after less than 200 hours of use.
What about just replacing with heavy duty springs instead of the whole assembly?

Any chance you have a Drive2 lift kit review? I have a Jake's 3" lift that's got some serious front camber issues. Doesn't look like there's any adjustments either.

At this time we refuse to install any lift kits on Drive2s due to all the issues it causes. I have yet to talk to one single person that was happy with their Drive2 after installing a lift kit. My recommendation is to take it off. Maybe someday a company will design a lift kit that actually works well on the Yamahas, but as of right now that doesn't exist. Thanks for watching!

I took my 3" lift kit off of my 2021 Drive2. It rode horribly compared to non-lifted. Just my 2 cents. I have front negative camber issue as well. Apparently this is common with Yamaha Drive2's.

Will these work with a lift kit? I have a lift with 23" tires and have some rubbing issues with 4 passengers going over rough terrain.

If the lift kit you have reused the OEM rear shocks, then yes you could use these heavy duty shocks to replace them.

How can I soften my ride? Really bumpy golf course, 2022 Drive 2. Softer springs?

Great video ! I have a 2022 drive 2 , quietech with rear seat. It seems to really "roll" in the turns, especially with 4 peeps. Will these shock/springs lessen the rolling when taking a corner ?

Yes, stiffer rear shocks will help with body roll issues. Thanks for watching!

Hey I bought the heavy duty shocks because I've had some tire rubbing issue. I'm sure it from turning corners. I don't have a rear seat. Do you think this shock is too much, or should I just bolt them on?
    Thank yoy

They do make the cart ride a little rougher with just one or two people in the cart, but if you have rubbing issues they are the best way to fix it.

Frank with the non quieteck issue from before. First thankyou for selling my dealer the correct high speed gear set. Being my 2021 cart has the solid axle and with 20" tires installed, what set up would you recommend for adding a back seat and not having it have rubbing issues. With 2 passengers in the back it should be around 400lbs. I will custom order the seats so cushions would not be necessary. I believe you also mentioned mounting the rear seat on a solid axle is more involved due to widening holes or drilling new ones. Or you still would not recommend I do this? Thanks Frank

Installing a rear seat kit on a non-quietech is pretty much the same process as the quietech model. They aren't too hard to do.
If you have tire rubbing issues on the rear, you will just have to install HD rear springs. But they will make your cart ride rougher. I do not know of any company that makes an extended length shock for the non-quietech model to give you more tire clearance.

My main concern was you stated that a rear seat on a quieteck you would not really recommend. I thought the reason was due to the independant rear suspension being affected where with mine being a solid axle the ride would not be as rough. Thanks Frank

Are these heavy duty shocks the same as what the Adventurer 2+2 comes with from Yamaha?

Our vendor for those shocks just got some in earlier this week and they sold out in less than 24 hours. We do not have a new ETA yet for when they will have some more.
