Please make a cold start from inside and show us the full procedure especially what you do with the throttle pedal. Would be also cool to see a cold start of that Squarebody! Subscribed!

Awesome 👍. Love it. My only suggestion is use a gear reduction starter and put Howes lubricant in the tanks. That engine will spin over faster with a gear reduction starter

The 3406B in my 1985 K100 starts exactly the same on a very cold morning but hunts for a few minute until it gets abit warm then idle smooths out

Man it was cold out there! I assume it's straight piped? What's the transmission? If possible, can you please do a super long driving video of this truck? I'd love to hear this Cat 3406B shifting at high RPM's and singing its heart out to the world! Please let me know ASAP.

This is a low comp build with custom injectors. It's actually proven to be better for an engine to idle up when cold to raise cylinder pressures. Low idle chugging while cold is very hard on everything and shown to have a greater chance of fuel contamination from incomplete detonation of the fuel/air mixture. At the time of this video this engine only had like 30K on the new parts.

Do those engines not have block heaters?

It did, I just didn’t have it plugged in then.

@@4barrelgarage I was just wondering I am going to look at an 89 3 79 with without engine but I am a little nervous that he has 650000 miles

Well if it’s a 3406B cat the oil specs are @1200 rpm a minimum of 40 psi of oil pressure. Also need to make sure blow by is minimal.
