I think the alphabet it relatively easy to learn but I can't pronounce words in Korean nearly at all. I even struggle with easy words. Yet I pick up Japanese with ease and can pronounce even the hardest Japanese words with small amounts of effort when I attempt a few times.
Thank you! I had quitted learning Korean Hangul because I was intimidated by the symbols. Also, I couldn't remember how to make a sentence, read, pronounce, or begin a conversation. If I had lessons in this format, I would have been encouraged to continue this language like Spanish and Portuguese.😊

Wow I love the tip about how they start and end with the consonant’s sound! It seems obvious from reading the Hangul now but as a native English speaker I was focused on reading the romanized spelling to memorize the word. Could you please explain why the “여” in 기역 seems to be an exception to the normal “으“ pattern for consonant names?

I use Memrise to learn. Depending how best you learn, I found Lingodeer worked some for me, but I genuinely learn better hearing and seeing it at the same time, from people who speak the language. That’s what Memrise does for me. If you’re better with more written examples, Lingodeer is amazing too. Duolingo was shit for this imho.
