    Your suspension should be set to street mode for drag racing situation. Your transmission should be set to track mode, I personally leave my traction control on, I also use a 275 nitto nt555r on the stock narrow body wheels, I bang off 0-60 in 3.6-3.7 and 1/4 mile times off my draggy with 11.2-11.3 at 130 stock 16 hellcat, racerX has a great video about how to set up your car

  • @S8ER
    @S8ER 9 месяцев назад +3

    Check your boost gauge...at around 1500rpm you might already be seeing 1-2 PSI which can quickly bury the tires. If you bring up just enough to trigger torque reserve (closing the supercharger bypass valve) you can still launch clean without having all of the torque increase.
    Launch control is dope I don't care what anyone says... even the DDHC guys talk bad about it but I did 3.43 to 60 (3.23 with rollout removed like the magazines) on all seasons with it launching at 1700rpm.
    Edit: FWIW The shift light doesn't change the shifts at all in auto mode... it does help with manual paddle shifting (I set mine way early in the first few gears at like 5600rpm so I can compensate for the laggy tach display)

  • @onelifetolive199
    @onelifetolive199 9 месяцев назад +1

    I can't even launch my Scat widebody from a stop with factory tires (I daily it unless heavy rain or any snow). In the NE everything comes with 3 season- all season. Like others have said its really best to just get another set of wheels....up north it sucks even more because the grippy radials or high end Michelins are not rated to be used under 40 degrees. For launch though I've heard from HC guys on the street, trans in track, suspension on street, and TC on. Prepped strip is a different story.

    You need to balance your torque output to your acceleration curve. Try setting 1st gear 4000 to 4500 rpm so 2nd gear catches earlier and reduces torque to your wheels. Less wheelspin = more total torque used.

    And that's why the Hellcats lose to so many cars they have no business losing too, and why I'll never buy one.
    Extremely old technology, old chassis that was never ment for 485 hp let alone 707 plus
    Zero consistency other than spinning.
    Then once you get a good tire under it, you can say good bye to its weak rear-end
    Another tip, when doing over and over launching like that, back into and right on the rubber marks of the last runs.. its much sticker than regular asphalt.

  • @scottburns4515
    @scottburns4515 9 месяцев назад

    If you want to eliminate spin, you must get smaller diameter rear wheels -like 17" and run Mickey Thompson Drag Radial Tires. The wider, the better. You can't "Launch" a Hellcat well on OEM tires. You titled your video precisely correct. Even with Mickey Thompsons, you're STILL gonna get some spin but, a Lot Less and less through the shifts. Watch some YT Videos on Hookin Up. In drag racing, what happens in the first 60 feet is everything. ruclips.net/user/results?search_query=How+to+set+up+a+Hellocat+for+drag+racing
