    It is a simple game, but astonishing how expensive it is for both the gameplay and the components.
    On KS the version that you are showing was 129$ + 20$(shipping) =149$ (179$ if you add VAT) which is absurd for the position it should take as a filler game.
    And the retail 49$+20$=69$ is laughable for what you get in it.
    I played it, it's nice, but nothing special , but I would not pay more than I would pay for a Ticket to Ride game. Actually, I would never pay a dime for that retail version.

    • @TheBrokenMeeple
      @TheBrokenMeeple  5 месяцев назад

      It's definitely a high price. However I never said it was a filler game, we're talking 90 minutes at least.

    • @moo2k4
      @moo2k4 5 месяцев назад

      Not sure that a 60-90 min game is really a filler? Also the component quality does make it worth the price tag if you dive in the deluxe.

    • @adukovski
      @adukovski 5 месяцев назад +1

      Regarding the level of gameplay and the complexity, it feels like a filler game regardless of the time it takes to play.
      It also has a potential to become boring after several plays. IV Studios will for sure pull up some expansion for it.

      @@moo2k4 Not sure what you mean. For 150$ there are way better produced games than this deluxe version. The screen shield is flimzy and it doesn't hold firm. The entire tray is taking forever to fill in with the plastic components and if you just accidentally move it, all the components fly away from the tray. The insert and the tray makes the game very tedious to set up and tear down.
      And the "holographic" cards, hahahaha, who ever thought that is good to have for readability especially if you have lights on top of the table.
      For 150$ you can have Brass deluxe, you can have Nemesis, damn you can have any game.
      As for retail and that pricing, I won't even talk about it.

    I appreciate your reviews when you share your rating for player count. I was thinking of backing the reprint on KS, but am not going to anymore because I am not going to get the game played with five players. You saved me $200.

      The rating change had to be done - I'm sick of the internet mentality in gamers that 7/10 = terrible game.

    I think this is the super deluxe. The deluxe only has non-painted coloured plastic minis (which you can paint yourself)

    'Lenticular' tile is the word you're searching for IIRC.

    I really liked this with a few reservations. I can understand what Jason points out but I think the negative I had was that the resolution phase for each location takes up a fair amount of time compared to the placing of ships.
    Production of this was amazing. Very, very cool game. Would definitely like to play this again.

    • @TheBrokenMeeple
      @TheBrokenMeeple  5 месяцев назад

      Resolution is very quick and easy you literally just count numbers and collect rewards. The placing takes way longer as you have many actions and tactics to consider.

    I just got an ad for "Fractured Sky is back" as I clicked on this video... I see IV studios is pushing heavy on marketing again

    I am quite intrigued by this one. Our group leans on heavier game but sometime its fresh to have something lighter and faster. Though the price tag and just bonkers (no interest in boring card board chips). I could see expansion adding more meat for experienced gamer though. Perhaps some asymetric powers?

    Very nice review, I don´t know if I miss it, but the game doesn´t have much of a theme, no? Great reviews, honest and truthful. Is a game is going to my wishlist, since I play a lot of 5p games. The next reviews to come sounds awesome, Moonrakers is a game I enjoyed, but don´t know yet if its a most buy.

    The luck of the star falls is crazy. There are usually not enough resources to look at anything so most of the games I have played people just go places and hope for star falls or goals. That is what this game boils down to most of the time go somewhere and wish for the best.

    • @clanechelon
      @clanechelon 5 месяцев назад

      I haven't played, but from the gameplay I have seen, it seems leaning heavily in markets or sending a little skiper (what ever they are called) on uncontested location generated a decent amount of resource. Is that a strategy that you've tried and still felt there wasnt enough resources?

    • @TheBrokenMeeple
      @TheBrokenMeeple  5 месяцев назад

      Well it costs to build a skimmer so it's not as lucrative as you may think. Both markets and fortresses have their uses.

    Not interested in the solo, but I think it works quite well at 2 actually :)
    I still have to play it at higher counts (just received it 2 weeks ago and played it twice), and I'm sure I'll like it more at 3-4 players, but I enjoy it quite a fair bit at 2 :)

  • @JonoNZBoardGamer
    @JonoNZBoardGamer 5 месяцев назад

    I skipped on this game because I can't see myself getting it played with 4 or 5 with the people I play it with. I definitely got the impression that more players is best, so buying it for low player counts is a waste of time. I would love to try it if the opportunity arises to play someone else's copy.

    Classic IV Games. Marketing Marketing Marketing. Flashy production but the games are ok to good. Never truly great. Maybe one day they will hit gold. This one isn’t it. Also, in this specific case I really didn‘t like the AI like genericness of the art

      Did you watch the video he rated it “great” lol.. I haven’t played this one but I really like veiled fate especially at 5 +.. moonrakers was also enjoyable.. I will say this IV games are very dependent on the play group. If people don’t enjoy talking and player interaction then these games can be a huge miss

      @@michaeljoesph8687 yes I agree, their games have a niche, is a good game that you can enjoy with people who like to interact. Their games are good for the experience they provide, if you are not into having interaction and laughs at the table, I think they are not for you, and that's pretty fine.

    I`m really enjoying this one. It`s just simple, clean design. I even think the production quality works against the game. People look the big box, all the plastic pieces, the `different` factions, and expect it to be a big, epic game, which it is not. It`s not genius by any means, but it works really really well. I usually play this with 4-5, after a game of Hansa Teutonica, I guess they compliment each other very well. In my opinion it is the `least good` game by them. In my opinion this game is `just good` while Moorakers and Veiled Fate are true gems. IV Studio`s crowdfundings always go very smooth and they deliver fast and on schedule. The only downside is that their games aren`t the cheapest (specially if you buy all the awesome addons they offer)

      Mythic Mischief was average overall, Moonrakers is so far faring better.

    The retail version of this, while lacking all the minis, still looks good on the table and still has high quality components.
    I enjoy this solo. It's a solid optimization puzzle. That said, I'm definitely looking to get this to my table at 3+ here sooner rather than later.
