I use a Gravel bike (Specialized Diverge), for my daily training, that I changed the crank and gears on to match my race bikes, that way I can run bigger tyres (38c), for grip in the winter and 28c in the summer. The race bikes I run on 25c (both S-Works Shivs & S-Works tarmac, and the Allez). All on tubeless. I love the grip I get in winter months from the bigger tyres at lower pressure, and being a Gravel bike, I don’t mind getting it dirty as much, not to mention it can take a bit more punishment.
I just picked 3 weeks ago Vittoria Control 25c Tires for my TT bike, as the tires are just over a year old and I was looking to upgrade. Went with these over the GP 5000s, as I wanted something a bit more durable; who knows when racing will continue. If the races (IMCA and IMAZ) are confirmed, I switch out to GP 5000s a few weeks before. I’ve theoretically got 2 IMs this year, so lots of riding. On my road bike I’ve got 30c tires, planning on getting a second wheel set and throwing on Vittoria Control 25c or 28c. The set now I’ll fit with Gravel/Hybrid Tires in 32c, and I can swap the wheels based on the ride.
I have 5 wheels. 1 with a trainer tire for the smart trainer, a cheap set of wheels with Continental Gatorskins for outdoor training, and a slightly better set of wheels with Continental GP5000, which I only break out for race day.
Training: Always the largest tire size and entry-level category. Comfort wins :) Competition: Premium tires with 25mm at the front and 28mm at the rear
25c GP5000 all year long, training, group rides, give me great confidence. Next spring gonna change the back wheel tire to a 28c, can't wait to see how that works.
Tread isn’t for grip on a road tyre. Tread is for displacing water. Think of a GP car slick tyres in the dry tread in the wet. The more rubber touching the road the more friction converting your pedal stroke into forward movement
One thing I found hard to find out is whether a certain tire is fit for my hookless rims. Seems most of them are not? (Standard Bontrager wheels on a Trek bike). Any advice for good tires for hookless rims?
I imagine it is tyre dependent, but how far out before a race should I put on race-specific tyres? I'm not very handy and am trying to limit the amount of tread changing I would like to do ;o).
There were two GCN videos. One about tyre width and one about tyre pressure. I can only find the tyre width one. ruclips.net/video/reVAYWOeoA0/видео.html
Because this video is about being rational...for GCN it would have to be you need to buy these tires made by with Egyptian cotton woven by monks in Iowa under a full moon of the 7th month in the year of strava
What bike tires do you have on your bike? 🚴♀️
Continental Ultra Sport
25mm clincher conti gt5000 with latex tubes its pretty solid in all categories
Schwalbe pro 1 tubeless in 28mm. Front and rear. Very comfy on my Hunt Carbon aero wheels and Cannondale Slice TT.
I guess I am pretty randomly asking but does anybody know a good website to stream newly released movies online?
@Terrell Isaias i dunno I watch on flixportal. Just google for it=) -kason

1:20 seconds in approximately is why I like this content. Thank you for the unbiased feedback
Wow, this was amazingly informative and straightfoward
Great one :)
I have Hutchinson tires...Thank you for the great video, this is exactly what I was looking for. 🙌

Why wider at the rear?
@@08kaikkonen more grip for torque

How did that work out mate
I will save this video, very helpful, do you have a brand chart and features for the tires..?? Thanks.
Really helpful and now have a list of options. You mention turbo trainer tyres, is their one which you would suggest to people?
I still use 23mm tires on 17mm inner width rim on road bike.
Nice 😎
The turbo tyre went on yesterday😂. Bloody snow.
I love 32c feel for my road bike...
...
...
..but it only take 28c max :(

Your bike looks sick dude
Thanks!
0:15 or flatting or not flatting 🙂.
Staggered wheels on bikes, brave new world.
can you guys make a nother video on the turbo trainer
Hi Stefan, what would you like to know about Turbo Trainers?
I want to do a nother workout on the turbo trainer
I also want to know if it’s important to foamroll or is it just if you want to
I'm going to have to watch this again. It seems strange that the tread doesn't affect the grip, but it does affect the rolling resistance.....

@@Bungle2010 Thanks. Why is water dispersion not necessary on a bike?
Was the bike made in USA
Why isn't this video on GCN? 😅

I click on this video cuz I want grip like Leclerc
