  • From the movie "Berlin Now" (1984) directed by Wolfgang Büld & Sissy Kelling
    Songfacts:
Originally written and composed for the 1966 Broadway musical "Cabaret", by two Jewish musicians - John Kander and Fred Ebb in the style of a traditional German song, and was sung by the Nazi youth in the movie "Cabaret" 1972 (by Bob Foss) to stir up patriotism for the 'fatherland'. It has often been mistaken for a genuine Nazi anthem and has led to the songwriters being accused of anti-Semitism. This would be most surprising, as they are in fact Jewish.
Nonetheless, "Tomorrow Belongs to Me" has been adopted by right-wing, neo-Nazi, and alt-right groups as an anthem.

One of the most compelling performers of our age. He was really just finding his singing voice around this time. This is such an endearing performance.

    Incredibly powerful performance.
This song, from the movie Cabaret, was originally in the movie performed by a Nazi Youth, as a representation of Nazis taking over Germany. Blixa sang it in the context of the Cold War, the Berlin Wall and the future of the Germany which was at the time divided in half. Absolutely brilliant 👏

Anybody know who is on piano? It would be cool if it was Nick. I can’t find anything about the performance. Mufti is known to play piano, but it doesn’t really look like him. Maybe just a studio pianist.
