Because starting to put (even common sense.) restrictions on whom can run outside of the restrictions already present in the constitution will snowball badly when the untrustables inevitably get back into power. Granted: we're not in a common sense era right now, but in better times: someone like RFK would voluntarily remove themselves from contention due to his conditions, or better yet: would not run at all. I am from Massachusetts and I have great nostalgic affection for the Kennedys. It’s hard to be from the Bay State and escape that. RFK Jr is also my age (70) and I have great empathy for his loss of two beloved uncles and his dad by age 14. That being said, this guy is whacked! He cannot be taken seriously!! Sorry Robert! I also was born & raised in MA, my parents voted JFK way back in the day, my uncle in NYC went out of his way to shake hands with Robert Kennedy back in the day. As a 12 year old I had the amazing opportunity to shake hands with Ted Kennedy when he came to speak to the community at my Jr High School. All that being said, although I feel sorry for RFK Jr's numerous health & neurological problems he is a "crack pot," it may not even be his fault that he believes and propagates delusional thinking, after all as he admits he has cognitive problems. My neighbour used to be your average person, nothing out of the ordinary at all. Then one day she’s driving her convertible car and lost control in the rain. And she’d also become “solar powered” and no longer needed to eat food. So as one does when they’re solar powered, she’d mow her grass completely naked to soak up all that energy.

Many of them have consulted doctors to find out what RFK Jr meant by "brain-eating worm" and it sounds like they're perplexed because tapeworm larvae can get into a person's brain and cause lots of problems, but they don't "eat" brain tissue.

It’s called neurocysticercosis. It comes from eating undercooked pork in areas like Mexico or other less developed countries. Not super uncommon in certain areas. It’s a tapeworm and humans are a dead end host.
Sounds like a former client of mine who was found to have a parasite in her brain after traveling to Mexico years earlier. She'd been diagnosed with MS until this was found.

It's actually not a laughing manner. I had client diagnosed with MS, whose partial paralysis got worse over the years until another doctor discovered she had a parasite in her brain from drinking contaminated water. Once that was eliminated, her recovery was complete. But RFK Jr.'s heroin use certainly didn't help.
