Don't hit flames to solder, you have to heat works only. If the work heated completely, solder will melt by work's heat and flow by itself.

comon......brass just does not rust nor have blue oxide...maybe coffee and paint..........i guess you guys spent as much time making these items look old as you do cleaning them up again !!!!

if you take a long bolt and round off the end and make like a ball.....you can send it through the larger side and hammer lightly and it sill keep the shape instead of putting divots in the metal.....make like a tiny mandrel basically
