The world woke up to the role semiconductors played in our lives when everyday items ran into shortages, most talked about being the automobile industry. Now late into the game, India put out sops worth 100,000 cr $12bn to attract the best. Despite being a late entrant, India has a few advantages to make this succeed. Let’s see.

In India the hype around software engineering is far greater than other branches. India should invest in electronics and high end manufacturing.
👍
software engineering is litterlally coding lol "software engineering" just sounds way cooler and more complex
so true, not a single Indian cos to compete with Shopify and their exorbitant price
@@parthvaswani4503 It's not just coding bro. There is feasibility study, planning, coding(development), testing and regular maintenance. It takes whole lot of effort.
Software is lucrative as not much infrastructure and R&D involved. In the other hand Chip and hardware manufacturing demands a lot of resources and money. Yet they both depend on each other
As a tech enthusiast this is one hot topic

Semiconductor is electronic not computer science
Sir, can you explain me in some detail about semiconductor production. As I have heard that majority of chip manufacturing is controlled by china. Where does india stand in chip manufacturing. What is the impact on semiconductor production after government has taken major initiatives & also helping by giving 10thousand crore.🙏
*indian govt should seriously look into the semi conductor and processor industry*
They are serious.
Now Indian government is very serious about it.
It need time bro 6months only to establish manufacturing unit
Could you imagine this initiative in a Congress-led government supported by SP, TMC, CPI, CPM, etc.?

We need a lot of investments into components that makes up today's smart devices like PCBs, Batteries, LED/LCD etc
I hope that India becomes a serious semiconductor player. Then at least I will be able to buy/build a gaming pc at a reduced price.
Cheap price for poor indian 😂
I am a CSE Student and frankly speaking I never knew the importance of semiconductors. I just tried to got pass throught the hardware subjects and focus on software related subjects but now I am definitley go to the depth of hardware sections. Ultimately its the hardware that support's the software and i never realised it.
Great job done Mr.Bisbo. Also 1 question....it that you day before yesterday's community post?

along with the events that led to this shortage, its also the miners who keep buying graphic cards and causing a shortage in those which are below 40nm
Yes true. Not only them but gaming also requires more and more sophisticated chips
To second @@BisboWorld, it's not just GPUs. Older chips that are used in cars are also under a supply crunch.
@@BisboWorld yep. that is why nvidia also needs to make crypto mining editions of more graphic cards, not just rtx 3060
Haven't most of big miners shifted to ASIC machines which don't use GPUs at all?

Its a good opportunity for INDIA. Government should take this matter seriously.
India has taken about more than 96$ million loan from world bank,
@@venusbelgahe just search how much debt US has.
Total debt in the the world is more than the gdp of the world, which may sound impossible but just search it.
Debt is normal.
Nah, current effort is enough.
Rest it's wastage of money. And we don't have looted or daddy wealth to do it.
We just need ideas which have at least 15% rate of return within 3 years in form of actual profits.
Rest we can keep on buying semiconductor from USA, Korea and China for kilogram rate, while they are busy in d**k measuring contest
Your animation is much better than many indian studio 😂😂
Well done my fav exciting topic
Thank you
Hey Bisbo team, you're doing a great job at making intresting videos. You're my favourite channel and I have recommended it to various friends but recently I have noticed that your videos are not that frequent and you're making a vedio on topic very late while other channels have published their, and being a news media channel, no one would prefer to watch same news again no matter how beautifully you present it.
Noted. Our style of animation takes time
@@BisboWorld I appreacte every effort that you put into making each video so informative and engaging. Thank you Bisbo!
If we had taken these steps 10 to 20 years ago

Can't even imagine you must have put such great efforts to make every other video. Very well presented mate. Keep rocking!
This is yet the best video on India's semiconductor. Nice research and great animation of Modi-ji's long 'Vikram Vettal' hair. lol.
Chinas tech IP portfolio is staggering. They drain cutting edge IP from the US and Europe and make it in China. More than 15% of European university PhD students are Chinese and about 30% of UK's international students and 20% of US international students are Chinese.
way better than any news channel! good job da Bisbo!
Thanks bro
need part 2 of this and I know no one can do it better than you
Thanks. Let’s see
for namesake india can start manufacturing chips but quality of taiwan and south korea is level which india will take almost 10yrs plus to achieve 😂
Those chips are mostly used in phones. Right now we need chips for household electronic, machinery and automobile.
What we can do right now is make it big in the game above 14nm. Past 14nm however, I think a transfer of technology is needed.
most awaited video
Good video...but one correction ..3 nm does not refer to inter chip distance but it refers to gate length of a transistor
Adding to this, each fab has different methodology for measuring gate length. Therefore TSMC 5nm has more transistor density than Samsung 5nm
Noted. I think our readers must also know this so pinning the comment
@@BisboWorld this comment is still not pinned

They research from news given and reports
And they are no experts in every field so they sometimes tell us what's written in the reports and use common sense.
Don't blame them, u can't make a perfect universal news channel
I guess if such incentives were conducted 15-20 years ago then today India would have crossed 10 trillion dollar GDP(nominal)... And also with such big economy our armed forces would have doubled its power and we would have taken back pok till now... Although its late but not dark😊😊
POK can't be taken back, atleast not militarily and no nation would like to hand over such huge chunk of land that too so strategic. So, I don't think its possible for us to get back POK.
@@adolfgandhi7993 Balochistan is a completely different province from POK. well-researched, interesting, illustrated and informative. thanks.
Small rectification: 3nm technology node doesn't means the distance between the transistor to transistor, but the channel length of the transistor and other parameters aswell...

good question would be does indian state provide incentives to industries manufacturing chips.
it is not job of "government" to run a chip business itself which like its previous ventures was and is only waste of tax payers money or cause of inflation

I do have a point to make regarding the Air India video you posted a few weeks back
You made a quip of buying more than 100 aircrafts from Boeing during the Manmohan Singh era

Tomorrow drone r being done by china what willl be do wait for Taiwan to support for the chips
We need self reliant this is the last thing india needs to grow bcoz it's like the resolution brought by jio
It could be that big i am sure of it

Bisbo , When are you planning to launch a website or a news channel ?
This will become my news channel once I can upload content daily. Website no. App yes
This video was very funny with few jokes here n there... Sir app qatar me ho... Lol😂
Please do a video on the Silverline project in Kerala (K-Rail).
If we talk about automobile industry, only NXP semiconductor has more than 70% of the market share, other companies like ST microelectronics, Inineon, Renesas has very less share. Due to increase in the demand, there is shortage and moreover these companies are totally dependent on TSMC for the tapeout.
Also 3nm is the length of the transistor.😊😊
9:33 nvidia is not a chip firm ( per se )...they dont produce their own chips which is what tsmc does....nvidia, apple all of them design their own chips but dont manufacture them.....they outsource the manufacturing to others ( primarily tsmc and samsung foundries )
That’s right Rwik
Do an story on Netaji subhash chandra bose's great escape
@4:47 - spotted a type - should be nano meter
Chip Fabs really want to make you you think that even in this world where we always look at the larger picture, the smaller things are what really keeps the world going. A fire in any factory would be at most news for a few days, then the world goes back to their lives, but a fab on fire can bring the world down to its knees.
True Aaron
My request to your team is to also create content on forgotten historical events and great freedom fighters for this generation to learn.. One content suggestion from my end is talk about formation of Tamil Nadu state, M.P. Sivagnanam (fondly called aa ma. po.si) who is the regarded as father of tamil nadu state.
Very interesting
This is India’s chance to finally get it right.
semiconductor and motherboard recycling this time will probit ?
is it okay to invest to semiconductor companies now ?
Ok so my pc dream will be a dream 😂😂
I like your animation!

Semiconductor manufacturing is easier said than done, it takes decades of experience to produce the latest high end chips. It requires highly skilled and trained manpower which again could take several years to attain. But as said by Bisbo, better late than never.
Why do they'll need to go for high end chips in the beginning...start with low end ones that are used in washing machines..solar modules..other low end machines
Enginnering students and teachers dont know how to use transistor how can they make chip ( if yes only in dreams)
finally india wakeup
bisbo is best
Thanks
BISBO, PUT VIDEO ON METAVERSE PROJECT
I'll believe it when I see it
India can do but India has to understand what world needs we must have static planning about it so that we could proceed
Hats off
Thanks Vignesh
Is it the "size of the transistor" or "distance between transistors" which is referred in "nm"?
4:12
I think it is size of transistor.
Does your video needs a correction?
It is the gate within the transistor thru which electricity can pass
No its not late. Better to start somewhere.
Vedanta was a surprise here
Now days avoid shortage of chip automobile company use autosar means we can change its microcontroller without changing rewriting firmware.
