I love how a happy show like Star vs the forces of evil sometimes has this subtle cynical sense of humor all of a sudden.

Now with Toffee, The Plot Thickens!!
I get it. It's a pun.
The trick to properly thickening the plot is bringing your Toffee up to melting point without burning it, then making sure he stays melted as you incorporate him into the Plot. The last thing you want is Bruised Toffee, then the Plot gets all stringy and bitter.
Toffee is by far one of my favorite villains ever.
Mine is definitely Bill Cipher

Hmmm. Tough call. Ultimately it boils down to what you want in a villian. Bill Cipher is definitely more fun to watch, stealing the scene whenever he's on-screen. Toffee's more of a slow burn menacing presence. I want to say Cipher is more powerful in absolute terms, but we may not have seen Toffee's full power, but on the other hand the venue was kinda stacked against Cipher during the events of Gravity Falls. I want to say Toffee is scarier to watch, and Bill's the one I "love to hate" more. Again, it boils down to what kind of villian you want for your story. They're both excellent at what they do, as villains.

Toffee is the reason I got hooked to this show. That first appearance of his hooked me forever. I wanted to know MORE about him and continued to watch because of that :P

Ah yes...the moon that started the dark age of discourse and fandom war.
Omg!! You actually liked Tom since the beginning?? Finally someone like me, I was so sick of the other reations being pure hate towards him, when he did nothing to deserve it, Tom is a cinammon roll and he tries his best, one of my favorite characters of the show.
Really? I thought the big reveal of the Blood Moon Ball episode was that he was beyond redemption, that all his demon friends are literally sadistic monsters, and that the entire Ball was an evil plan to use magic to hypnotize Star into being trapped in a relationship with him for all eternity. I mean, that's *literally* what the text of the episode *actually says.* He's the bad guy, he tried to control Star like a bad guy, Star blasted him with her wand like a bad guy. It's pretty open and shut. What's to like?
It's literally storming and I'm working outside putting Christmas decoration for people but I had to get on to comment. You are going to love this show.

My favorite theory about Toffee is his name isn't Toffee. He just unwrapped and ate a toffee right before the "interview." The wrapper was as straight and stiff as a business card because he's ~just that orderly.~

Blood Moon Ball is the episode that, if you further inspect it, and watch Season 3, it will drive you completely mad.

@@artisticstuff3764 Oh it was just a joke as to how often people look back to this episode due to the ammount of foreshadowing that happens on it, it drives them insane, and people often bring it over on fandom wars.

I just watched the episode, I really liked that his fortune cookie lie was subtle, a believable message for a fortune cookie

this show will still have many of those one-off episodes but it will definitely start being more important. well at least the season 1 finale and season 2 and ESPECIALLY season 3. i can’t wait!!

This is the episode (the first one) where the rivalry between two ships occur, one is Starco and another is TomStar....
And in the middle of the rivalry another ship is born, Tomco..
Tom is voiced by Rider Strong from Boy Meets World. Still playing the bad boy.

Out of curiosity, what are your thoughts on bufffrog so far (ludo's right hand man who's a frog monster)? He gets a huge role later on, and him not trusting toffee plays a huge part in it.

Toffee reminded me of Edwin Windsor the Evil Efficiency Consultant from How To Succeed In Evil, but way more patient.
I love this episode when I saw it was like aawwwww😍😍😍😍😍
"Blood Moon Ball" was honestly my #1 favorite episode since several episodes way later on starting referencing back to it(not trying to spoil anything with that) plus its been more episodes where it's just starco in all of them and then we find out why there's been a lot of them in the season 2 finale
"Fortune Cookies" was hilariously thought out in my opinion, yet Toffee(way off name) is starting to become the new villan because Ludo is starting to get softer and more gullible than he was at first

It isn’t a curse, the blood moon did select Star and Marco but to share magic - the glowing yellow of their cheek marks (Star’s magic).
And if it really was a curse then why didn’t it stop Star and Marco going out with Tom and Jackie?
Though it appeared after Jackie and Marco’s first kiss it was to warn Marco that Star was in danger because it was no where to be seen the other times; when Star and Tom kissed and Jackie and Marco’s other kiss scenes.
@@artisticstuff3764 I mean, sure if youre looking at it from the angle that this was "Destiny" and excluding the fact that Tom initially planned on using it by manipulating and tricking Star into bonding their souls and thereby forcibly bonding Star to him, at a celebration of demons, who were all more seemingly on the morally grey side, Marco was influenced by an outside force into going to the ball (He would of just sat there and moped otherwise, Marco at that time was not an initiative taker, and Im not saying it was the moon it could of very well been Toffee or I guess Marco had a small hallucination) and the fact that when in Major Emotional Moments the moon appeared in order to shift the perspective of Marco back to Star. Also something literally called Blood Moon is NOT a good thing, since when has something called that been a good thing in media.
TriXJester You made a few good points there, but come on, why would the crew make the blood moon a curse? Over the four years of watching this show and seeing how well these two characters have developed, I would be highly disappointed to find out in the end that it was a curse.
But on the other hand how you said the blood moon being a bad thing, maybe in that aspect it is; with the theory that Marco will turn evil in season 4 and quite possibly with this theory, the blood moon bonds two souls who do secretly love each other and then make them verse each other (sort of like a tragic love scenario) - which I’ll be okay with in this scenario since I really want to see Marco as the villain in season 4.. 😂
@@artisticstuff3764 The show has had an interesting takes on tropes up to now, Monsters being good, Eclipsa being right, I would be disappointed for them to rely on the soul destiny magic to fuel their supposed main pairing, seems to easy, if you want them to be together theres no reason to have that be in some ways forced to be end game because "The Prophecy" if their chemistry with each other alone as characters can make it work. And really, how would finding out about some magic ritual making a preordained judgement on who Star ends up with affect Star, someone who up to this point has had the character arc of wanting to choose things for herself.

i loove tom, and toffee totally changed the tone of the series. There are still going to be silly one-off episodes but i would say he truly made this show more interesting.

Star v evil has a book out with a ton of lore but It has a bunch of spoilers, these episodes are some of the best but they do get better.
SPOILER:
It’s cool to remember how Tom used to have anger issues given he’s probably the least angry character now. Especially with how he reacted to that thing in the new episodes.
But Tom didn't do anything wrong all he wanted was a nice dance with star 😔😔
