Repair front axle bracket on husqvarna lawn mower

The right front axle of this lawnmower has a plastic bracket which fits around the axle rod and attaches to mower deck. It wears out and breaks. I repair using a custom fabricated steel bracket.

Nice fix, just for anyone that ends up here because of broken brackets, they are available in STL format so you can 3D print some new ones. The factory brackets are only held in place by one screw even though the deck is drilled to use two screws. The brackets were fine on mine but the screw was stripped out, I just used 2 machine screws with a couple flat washers on each side for a more secure mount.

Do this instead of throwing away a perfectly good mower which is what lazy ppl with a lot of disposable income do 😂✌️

Funny you say that cause I just picked one up off the side of the road took it home and it fired right up realized this is why they threw it away. I'll fix it thank you

Does the spring on the front axle somehow engage with the bracket? My neighbor gave me his mower. The bracket closest to the spring was all chewed up. The spring swivels around the bracket. Not sure if something broke on the axle. Can't find any good info online. Mower is out of production.

@@CarlosGonzalez-mr5qz there is no spring that I recall. It’s very simple assembly and if you note the basic details from my video you should be able to make it work with the modification shown. My mower is still holding up well.

@scotttomlin5474 Thanks for the reply. This is a Craftsman EZ walk. It has a lever that raises all 4 wheels up or down at the same time. The axle has a tension spring. I already ordered the new brackets and I'll see what happens when I put everything back together. Thanks.

Can you take a pic that inside or other side of the bracket so we can see what the curve looks like ?
