    I have one of these; I presently have 64.8mpg on the clock, and I’ve so far, gone 365 miles on half a tank of fuel. I got 581 miles out 41 litres of fuel on my last tankful (45 litre tank). It’s a decent ultra reliable vehicle - it’s a shame a lot of shockingly ignorant and deeply prejudiced people spout a lot of inane garbage and glibly manufactured myths about this technologically advanced fuel saving marvel. It’s a brilliant Japanese vehicle designed to drastically reduce burnt fuel emissions and save fuel. It’s no BMW or Mercedes and was never meant to be - the Lexus Hybrids (a Toyota brand) fulfil that role. It’s incredibly spacious for the size, and when fully loaded from the factory, has an amazing list of extras. Did I mention it’s ultra reliability? This particular model was literally OVER ENGINEERED which is why you still see them slinking cheerfully up and down the highways everywhere. Iconic, indeed!

      Yup but when that inverter or battery goes out expect 2 pay 1 k lol

    • @datathunderstorm
      @datathunderstorm 5 лет назад +1

      Mr Yusuf - Would you believe that unlike many infamous German car brands, Toyota identified certain minor components prone to failure that could shorten the life of the inverter. Guess what? They recalled every single Prius affected, and replaced that electric pump. FOR FREE. Now these cars are going 400,000 miles on the same inverter. Can you say “Over Engineered”?
      After going 300,000 miles on the same traction battery, I’d gladly pay for a new one if it was to fail. Still way cheaper than a Mercedes A class CVT transmission failure from the same era. I sure wouldn’t complain 😊👍

      @@mryusuf6086 lets put this new battery scenario into perspective. I can buy a Gen 2 Prius for £3k. Most of my collegaues are leasing new or nearly new cars and paying upwards of £300 per month - forever! Simply pay their lease or loan amount into a savings account (where you will get a bit of interest) for 4 months and leave it there. If the battery goes you're covered for another 400 thousand miles. You have your 'disaster fund' ready and waiting and after that 4 month period you're back to cheap as chips motoring. When I get my Gen 2 Prius I'll be paying 11p per mile and just £20 a year road tax. It's more expensive to walk because I'd wear my shoes out.

And you’re probably prejudiced enough to hurl undeserved abuse at ethnic minorities just because they’re the wrong colour. Get a life and don’t be such a jackass. We live in a world of liberty which allows him the freedom to choose what he wants, without the likes of you sneering at his decision. Go TROLL some place else. • @richardsteiner8992
      @richardsteiner8992 5 лет назад +1

      It bounces back and forth depending on whether you are going uphill or downhill and also on how hard you push the accelerator on level terrain. The status display shows where the power is coming from and/or going.

    • @RennieAsh
      @RennieAsh Год назад

      Some have an EV Mode button. But it's only really for moving the car a short distance without needing to start the petrol engine, or you want to "show off" the electric part. It will be overidden if you request too much acceleration, the battery gets too low, or you go over 45km/h. It also will not engage in certain conditions such as petrol engine warming up, hot battery, battery too full and a bunch of other things I'm sure
