Thanks for the video. I have a second gen. Prius, got it two years ago at 186 K miles, it's so cute, smooth & practical, love it. Although I had to replace some items (spark plugs, PCV valve, tires, coolant, etc.), I hope it lasts me a long time. I've driven several cool rental cars before, but the Prius always tops out on ride quality & overall satisfaction, a terrific car for everyone!
I have three of these - ALL silver! That wasn't planned, but after I bought the first one I had to buy MORE!! They are like a serious drug of happiness...👍
Prius rage is real, I always have people swerve past me to slam on their brakes at the red light I'm stopping for. Even better is when they merge to the left lane and there's way more cars stopped in that lane so they end up eating my dust at the light. It's been really amusing to observe how many truly stupid drivers are out there (for some reason, a lot of Altimas...) I do agree freeway merging is more to do with drivers than the vehicle, though I think the soft throttle programming on old Priuses did discourage moderate acceleration.
Yep, I have a 2013 and I agree, drivers can be pretty cruel to the Prius. They do not like to be behind you in the fast lane, regardless of how fast your going. I compensate for that by driving slightly aggressively as the car really isn’t that slow. They tend to back off a bit. I’ve had mine up to about 98 and cruse at 80+ daily.
As an owner of a silver 2008 Prius (New to me as of 2 years ago) 1. The plastics on your car exterior look brand new and wonderful! UV light has degraded the plastics on my car's door handles and the fake rear spoiler...You must have a garage baby! 2. If you have the Touring model, the HID headlights are a royal PITA to replace when they start to burn out. The HID bulbs are sealed in the headlight assembly like a pickle jar...And after 12 years, the seals are cold welded shut so all of those "easy way" youtube videos of changing the bulbs without removing the headlight assembly are a waste of time. Pep Boys quoted me around $500USD in parts and labor to replace both bulbs because "We have to remove the bumper." (the procedure isn't really "removing the bumper," It's just all about having the a few, inexpensive tools and removing cosmetic plastics in the engine compartment, surrounding the bumper and in the wheel well.) Fortunately, after browsing priuschat and r/prius, I found the following video, and replaced the bulbs for $80 on my own. What I love about the video is that the experienced mechanic is yanking on the headlight assembly....Hung up on and finally finding the same screw I didn't remove while whining at the headlight for 20 minutes "Why aren't you coming out??!!??" ruclips.net/video/4zG2BPEK0dQ/видео.html 3. There are four "leverage" fins on the cap of the sealed headlight assembly to access the HID bulb...Unfortunately, Even after you remove the headlight assemblies...The original equipment seals are so stiff and cold-welded together and the leverage fin plastic is so brittle after 12 years that some of the fins may break off as they did to me. I used a tiny bit of teflon bicycle chain lube on the headlight assembly seal, wiggled it back and forth with constant pressure. It was frustrating, but BE PATIENT...The seals will eventually wick up enough lubricant to stop sticking and the pickle jar opens up.
I know what you mean mate. I have an 06 gen 2 prius with 436,000kms on the clock and it still gets 4litres per 100kms. I've added an American made fuel flex plug and play module and now my car runs on e85 too! And I've still got 4 hub caps! Best daily driver I've ever had and I race a GM v8! Haha
Just bought a 2005 prius from an older man. 85k miles. Coming from driving a lifted diesel truck it's an odd transition. But have been enjoying the 45mpg average. Helps me travel more than I did in the past.

@@HasmulaBToxic 90K, that is excellent, it should last you a long time. my next car, my wife and I have been gradually downsizing cuz we have kids moving out soon, so maybe we will get a Prius or something similar, definitely used but not too old.
@@kbanghart the Prius is by far one of the best cars I've owned. I've had a Honda, Infinite, and Audi but nothing makes me happier than my Prius. My father in law is 6'2 and he said he was surprised at how roomie the back seats were. My best advice to you that was given to me by several people is to avoid 2010 Prius at all costs. They have tons of issues. I wanted a 2012 but I noticed a lot of people in Prius forums mention 2009 to be one of their best builds so when I came across mine, I didn't hesitate.
@@HasmulaBToxic Oh well, ok thanks about avoiding the 2010. I had no idea. But I would like one that's got less miles. It might be almost impossible to find one older with fewer miles.
I love this car, mine is a blue one year 2005! I am from France and I was wondering why people in USA hate this car so much??? Here in France, people absolutely don't give a sh!t if you own a prius or not! I liked your video by the way! :D
My-Anh Doan I’m glad you enjoyed the video! I think some of the early adopters gave these cars a bad reputation in the US. They aren’t a bad car, but the owners were quite annoying for a while. Thanks for watching!
Because a good portion of Americans don't like fossil fuel hating, tree hugging, liberal, democratic voting little pricks. Still, not sure what that has to do with Prius owners?🤷
Very good video!!! I am considering subscribing!!! First because I love the Prius and you do it justice, which is quite rare in your world of "car guys". I hope you will continue posting videos about your very nice 08 prius. Here in France Toyota sells tons of hybrids, you see them everywhere (Prius, Auris, RAV4 and even the small Yaris is in hybrid) and they don't suffer from the same "trolls" as you have in the USA. Most people have nothing against those. They have an excellent reputation of reliability and great gas mileage. They are powerful enough for any situations. They sell very easily on the second hand market here in France. I've owned several Toyota Hybrids myself and what I like the most is the smooth driving, no other automatic transmission is as relaxing as the Toyota Hybrid System.
The 2008 Toyota Prius is not only an efficient car, but it is a very adorable car. I mean, it's one of the cutest cars I've ever seen in my life. And I love the pudgy design of the 2008 Toyota Prius. I makes the car very cute. What makes the 2008 Toyota Prius cute, is the headlights are cute, they look like the 2003 Lamborghini Gallardo's headlights, and the tail lights are pudgy, but very adorable. The 2008 Toyota Prius, in the front, just looks like it can do that "UwU" face, by the headlights and the grille. The Prius, very efficient, very attractive, very adorable/cute. Although, when Toyota made the 1st, 3rd, and 4th generation Prius, Toyota should have given these Prius generations different model names. The 2008 Toyota Prius should keep it's name "Prius", while the 1st, 3rd, and 4th generation Prius deserves to have different model names. And don't call me blind, whoever doesn't like the 2008 Toyota Prius.
bro what the heck, me and my friend pulled up next to you in her gold prius and said “cool prius!” at Quiktrip at 37th and Rock and now we stumbled onto your youtube video???? small world
A friend offered to sell me a hybrid 2008 Prius because I had a car accident. I worry about the miles. He bought the car in 2017 with 177K miles on it, and now, it has 202K. My family told me to avoid cars with high mileage. I trust my friend - he's sold cars for years - but I've gotten stranded on the road once before. Paranoid of it happening again.
Thats understandable. I bought this Prius thinking that 40k miles was a lot of mileage, so 200k seemed way out of my comfort zone. But after learning about the Prius, how it works, and how it has fewer components that fail over time, the mileage didnt bother me.
@@ElliottAlvis Price he's asking is $3K (my budget is $5K, so I'm fine with that). I know he's taken good care of it, so would you recommend it in this case?
I have a 2008 Toyota Prius with a loan through a buy here, pay here! $310 a month and it's the BEST CAR I'VE EVER OWNED! She runs sooooo smooth, and very reliable!! It has 202,000 miles and honestly it's been the most reliable car I've ever owned. I had a 2011 Buick Lacrosse with 150,000 miles on it and within 3 months the transmission started to slip, and I had a hole in the valve worst car I've ever owned, I traded that sucker in on a Prius which was not my first choice BUT in all honesty I am so blessed and glad I chose it because I have had ZERO issues. I just did a standard oil change (don't judge, better oil will go in it next time lol) and I have no check engine light on or maintenance required light on. I highly recommend these cars!!! Oh and the gas mileage is AMAZING especially with this economy and high gas prices! Love my Prius!!!! ‼️🩷💖
I can't wait to see the next one with the Hellcat contrasting this video. Great video! Loved the different camera shots and the unexpected church mouse joke lol
Haha! I'm so glad they invented tesla. Finally, people can look at a prius for what it is - a great little car. And whaaat a looker. You know if you squashed a 3rd gen, like foot or two lower, it looks just like a Lambo Huracan. I reckon Lamborghini copied the prius.
Hi All, I would like to buy a 2008 Prius myself, all the cars I find are around 200,000 miles on them. I would like to know if it’s OK to get a 200,000 miles driven Prius … any advice would be highly appreciated..!
I live in Wichita too, my daughter saved her money and bought a 2007 Prius shes16 scariest thing for me is it doesn’t have a backup camera, I’m thinking of purchasing one for her just for safety, what you think I should do to help upgrade it
Cool, my son has a 2008, yes a backup camera would be a good investment. I was also thinking about a little horn that would make a tone when I back up too, nothing obnoxious but where ppl could at least hear it. Bc I know Priuses can be very quiet and sometimes ppl don't notice when you're moving, especially slow in a parking lot.
I have a 2008 Prius also and really like it but I must disagree about the visibility inside the car . It's like one big blind spot and trying to park it straight is a b**** and most other Prius owners I've talked to agree that they are really hard to park straight. My Prius is the touring edition and has a rear camera and a JBL stereo. The camera is pretty crappy because if there's any sun on the screen it is pretty worthless but the stereo is really nice
Only 10.9 seconds to 60mph apparently. Step less transmission means it flings itself down the road without gear changes - it's like a General Electric Turbofan pushing you to take off speeds. It just keeps going.
Ask the owner for service records on the vehicle. Inquiry whether or not the main battery or cells have been changed? How frequent the oil changes, etc. To determine if the car was properly maintained. I also, have 2008 prius I love the car.
G Wernette lol I wish it was tire smoke! It was the puff of exhaust condensation because it was sort of chilly out when I filmed this. The touring model is so nice! Thank you for watching!

I have a highway I drive all the time I-75. It has a minimum speed of 65mph and I drive it. I know I can legally drive 70-75 depending where I am on that Interstate. Its just my sweet spot is 65mph.
I have a 2009 Prius and I'm loving it!
How many miles, and how much did you pay for it? If u don't mind me asking.
@@kbanghart 90k miles and $6000. I live in NYC and got it from a dealer
It's low cost to maintain and I barely have to fill her up. I think you and your wife would be pleased, they are pretty spacious as well!
I just bought my Prius and put $1,000's I to it so seeing this video puts me at ease! Thanks!
I think the worst drivers are the ones that peel off the start and the ones that slow to crawl before a turn.
I've owned several Toyota Hybrids myself and what I like the most is the smooth driving, no other automatic transmission is as relaxing as the Toyota Hybrid System.
bla bla Thanks for the support! Check out some of my other videos, I think you’ll enjoy them.
Because it's my opinion!
I absolutely love Toyota.
Jay me too Jay! Lol
Your buddy shared your page to one of my Facebook groups.
You earned a sub
Greta Thu'umberg I appreciate it sir
bro what the heck, me and my friend pulled up next to you in her gold prius and said “cool prius!” at Quiktrip at 37th and Rock and now we stumbled onto your youtube video???? small world
zane allen Ha! I was going to say “checkout my RUclips channel” but didn’t want to sound like a douche. That’s crazy! Nice to meet you guys
Just because of that intro, I wanna buy a Prius! This video needs to be shared to all Prius haters!
I don't get the bad reputation, best car ever!
Nayim Kay I agree!
This is way better than the video about why you hate the Toyota Prius you finally got over it and like it😊
Still driving 2004 Prius, 175k miles, battery pack replaced with 2013 battery pack in 2020.
That’s awesome!
just bought a red prius after watching ur video..thanks Eliott..
@@Khadi-C sounds like a good deal to me!
I'm sure it's because of the roads where I live, but I only get about 42mpg. Though I'm sure the winter tires are contributing to less mpg.
Just bought my son 2008 silver prius. I was having 2nd doubts but I feel better now.
buffy0214 Awesome! They are fantastic cars. I think you’ll enjoy it. Thanks for watching!
Great choice! It will outlast a new Buick, true story.
More Prius content immediately please.
@2:04 fun fact Toyota came out with the Clear taillights on the Altezza/IS300 and started that whole craze haha
Idk why people hate this car if this car is gold
It's a great car. It's just a meme to hate it.
Hahaha! TRUE...!!! I've always said my red 2008 Prius looks like a bloated Lambourgini.....!
"Just leave it alone " 🤣🤣🤣🤣
8:29 anyone else see Tyler Hoover for a second? 😂
That’s a compliment in my book! Lol
yes, thats true
Love your videos, dude! Haha. Hopefully this channel takes off! I own a G1 insight, G1 Prius, and G4 Prius. They’re great.
Austin Kinser great collection! I want to find a clean first gen Prius one day.
Love you Man! you build my spirit when I drive my Prius!
Lend Watkins glad I can be a Prius inspiration! 😂
I just bought my 3rd Prius it's a 2008, I really like the 45 miles per gallon
Hi All, I would like to buy a 2008 Prius myself, all the cars I find are around 200,000 miles on them. I would like to know if it’s OK to get a 200,000 miles driven Prius … any advice would be highly appreciated..!
Cool nice review !! Thanks confirmed a lot of things I wanted to know. Just looking for a gas saving reliable daily driver
Can’t go wrong with a Prius! Thanks for watching.
Just bought one. I love it
I'm currently looking at a 2007 one
what do you think about prius 2024 ??
Ok, I subscribed. Hoovie and the Wizard said we should come here and subscribe, but you got me with "quiet as a church mouse pissing on cotton."
David Wilson Ha! Thanks man. Welcome to the channel!
I have a 2008 Prius . In 15 years, nothing has gone wrong. Nothing! 2 years ago I had a C.D. stuck in the changer. That's it.
Main thing that makes it amazing is its a TOYOTA!!
28.8 mpg average?
I have a 2008 Prius also and really like it but I must disagree about the visibility inside the car . It's like one big blind spot and trying to park it straight is a b**** and most other Prius owners I've talked to agree that they are really hard to park straight. My Prius is the touring edition and has a rear camera and a JBL stereo. The camera is pretty crappy because if there's any sun on the screen it is pretty worthless but the stereo is really nice
Really?? I drive my son's 2008 sometimes and seems to have ok visibility and parking straight. Next time I drive it I'll make sure to check.
I got a 2008 and the breaks are insanely good.....
Gotta put a timer on the 0-60 😂
KSMTBer it’s somewhere under 30 seconds from what I can tell. Lol
Only 10.9 seconds to 60mph apparently. Step less transmission means it flings itself down the road without gear changes - it's like a General Electric Turbofan pushing you to take off speeds. It just keeps going.
After I cleaned out the engine on my 08 I got 8-9 seconds
Question for Prius owners, I am looking to buy a 08 Prius and what are the things I should look out for when I go look at the car?
Ask the owner for service records on the vehicle. Inquiry whether or not the main battery or cells have been changed? How frequent the oil changes, etc. To determine if the car was properly maintained. I also, have 2008 prius I love the car.
it's the only car i can go 108 past a cop and not even get an eye batted my way
that's the absolute fastest you can go in one. I tried. several times. it will not go to 109.
Lem Aiko I’ll have to see what I can get mine up to 😉
I hit 96:(
There is no knock sound yet? My prius is very nice, but one bad thing is knock sound when the engine hot.
Bought a 2007 w one owner, no accidents, and 57,575 miles. $12.5k out the door. Was this a good deal?
USD or what currency?
Was that CGI smoke at 6:53? Sorry, I couldn't resist. I also own a 2008 Touring
G Wernette lol I wish it was tire smoke! It was the puff of exhaust condensation because it was sort of chilly out when I filmed this. The touring model is so nice! Thank you for watching!
I'm thinking about getting a Toyota Prius but is it high maintenance? What are the down sides? I've never owned a hybrid. Are the parts expensive?
Jay1 Hi5 I actually made a video about my cost of ownership so far!
@@ElliottAlvis Okay, I'll check it out.
i drive a 2004 toyota prius and love it omg my boyfriend loves it so much
Just picked up an 07 prius with nearly 200k miles on it. 1 owner. . Hopefully it lasts until I die
He's funny, likable, and got a kitty cat. hit the like button for the cat. cat needs to eat.
Thank you! The kitty cat appreciates
It. He’s in more of my videos!
7:50 28 mpg average 😆
that's low, what's up with that
Attractive is extremely subjective
You know what's more f***** up is that you're watching this video and you're like wow a Prius but then you're too busy focusing on how hot the guy is reviewing it 🤦🏻♂️SMH YALL
😂😂😂😂
Felt 🤣
Are the seats comfortable?
Drive a 2005 Prius 😀
Very reliable and high comfort
They are great cars aren't they? Thanks for watching Marc!
great video, thank you
