    It’s nice to see Chrissie Hodges opening up and talking about this problem and mental illness that people are afraid to talk about and get help for because they fear being judged.

    I have sexual orientation OCD right now as a theme (since 2021) and I want to applaud Chrissy for talking about the sadness that comes with the disorder. Using myself as an example, the things we cling onto/for fear of loss or otherwise becomes a breeding ground for OCD. OCD attacks the things we love and when we start to fear that loss, we do everything we can to prevent it or if it has happened already or we can’t access it, we feel as sense of mourning. And that can be extremely devastating. I know many people with OCD who have a fear of losing a significant other (parent, lover, friend, pet, etc) and begin performing compulsions to ensure they want. And this clinging is exhausting. I had that with my attraction towards women, I clung on and did compulsions to the point it was completely inaccessible. I exhausted myself! So, just because the theme and compulsions looks different, doesn’t mean the underlying “fear of loss” and need to control or limit the possibility of loss” doesn’t exist.

    As someone who copes with OCD on a daily basis, having driven me literally delirious and to self harm and nearly going to jail over it just breaking mentally down public, I have never come across anyone I can relate to more about this bizarre disease and who can uplift even in the pits of hell like this woman can. Even in the most hopeless days just knowing someone else gets it and can relate it back to me with advice that only someone who has suffered this disease can give and can genuinely inspire and encourage me to keep living through it.

    I love Chrissie. She has been, and still is, one of the first people to truly help me navigate my OCD. She continues to support me, even indirectly, on the days when my OCD and anxiety feel overwhelming. I’m so incredibly grateful for this woman-she’s such an inspiration!💖
    It’s almost uncanny, but every time I’m struggling with a feeling or a thought, I get a notification that she’s posted a new video. And without fail, it’s exactly what I need to lift me back up.😂🥹

    I have a doubt... I see many videos with examples about doubts and the solution is to don't know the answers, like say to your brain "maybe yes maybe not"
    But, when you intrusive thoughts are not questions? Instead your intrusive thoughts are affirmations and you compulsion is to prove that those affirmations are wrong, so, to dont do the compulsions, could I say to my brain "yes, you are right"

  • @PopCultureKing2009
    @PopCultureKing2009 3 месяца назад

    This is what people are afraid of if I get treatment or get help will I still have an intrusive thought again then I will feel guilt and shame I already feel like I should be in a psychiatric hospital and take meds because I think I will harm someone and it will get worse if I don’t get help and treatment

    Charging $500 per session is just greedy!! If you truly wanted to help people you would make your services affordable for all. People are suffering from this and you are just a profit making machine off of peoples pain.

      @@Malika-zi2uv yes, they charge $500 per session. So if you are Howie Mandel you can afford this. $2000 a month for a once a week session is crazy!!! It just doesn’t seem like you are genuinely interested in helping people, you are more interested in filling your pockets.

      Hi Amy, thank you for your feedback and comment. We want to apologize for any confusion or misinformation and would like to be clear that the price you've quoted is not our current cash-pay session rate.
      We’d also love to address this with a few points. At NOCD, our pricing structure reflects the cost of treatment with genuine ERP specialists. Unfortunately, it's common for well-meaning therapists who are not trained in the gold standard treatment for OCD to attempt to treat individuals with OCD, which can sometimes result in more harm than good. We strive to be transparent about our billing practices and are here to answer any questions you may have about understanding your estimated costs for care.
      What you may be referring to with this price is what’s called a “bill rate.” The bill rate is for insurance companies to understand the total value of what NOCD provides, but it is not what a member is expected to pay. That is to say, please note that amount showing as billed on your invoice to insurance is * not * the amount we expect you to be pay. You will also see an "insurance adjusted" amount, which is reflective of what is being discounted or waived by your insurance. The amount you owe is based on your individual health plan and NOCD's discounted, contracted rate. We explain this in extensive detail right here on our Billing Resources and FAQ Page (at www.treatmyocd.com/about-us/billing-resources) and hope this resource will help answer any questions.
      If you still have any questions related to this at all, feel free to email our Member Experience Team at member.experience@nocdhelp.com. Our team specializes in handling situations like this and will personally guide you through resolving these matters. We are deeply sorry for your experience and would love the opportunity to explain this further based on your personal situation.
