- Like his father, John F. Kennedy Jr. left us too soon. From childhood, he lived under a media microscope. As a young man, he forged a successful career as assistant district attorney of New York, co-founder of the political magazine "George" and more. But 17 years ago, the 38-year-old died in a plane crash, along with his wife and her sister. A New documentary, "I am JFK Junior," offers an intimate look at his life through those who knew him best. Rosemarie Terenzio, a close friend of JFK Jr. and the film's director and producer, Derik Murray, join "CBS This Morning: Saturday" to discuss the film and look back at his life.

The day I found out about John, Jr and his wife Carolyn, I dropped what I had in my hand and had to sit down immediately. Just could not believe another Kennedy gone! I had a very hard time with President Kennedy's death on my birthday, then RFK and lastly, John, Jr. I will forever love his salute to his father when the casket came by. This will always be in my memory. What a great man he was, just like his father. Jackie would have not been able to handle this, if he would have died before her. I miss them and love them. His father was the greatest President ever.

And here we are in October 2020 and to this day i still have his People Magazine 1988 Sexiest Man Alive cover story and the other magazines from that horrific day when he died in that horrible plane crash in the Atlantic. At that time his wife did not want to go at all her GUARD Angel told her not to go but unfortunately her sister changed her mind! Listen always to your gut feeling and be certain that No is No and Yes is Yes.
I cleaned bull on the guardian angel bit. She didn't want to go because she & John were such at odds at the time m e that he'd been at a nearby hotel. Her sister and husband PA talked her into it because her not attending would have caused a media circus.

I will NEVER understand the fascination and idolization with people like JFK Jr and Princess Diana. They were just people! Beyond having posh last names and good-looks, they were not the smartest people in the word and they are not that interesting. This is a prime example of how the MSM makes and breaks 'celebrity.' It really has nothing to do with what the public thinks, it's all about writers and editors in little offices who espouse their opinions. On that note, both of the aforementioned 'celebrities' would have been alive today if it were for dumb mistakes they made (not wearing a seat belt in a fast moving car / not flying a prop plane in inclement weather).

he introduced the candidate at the convention in Atlanta saying that he was "not a political person". If he had wanted to be a politician, he would have started running for office early in life. I am willing to bet that he made a promise to mom not to ever run.

Unbelievable!!!! To quote his mother (pregnant with John at the time) Jacqueline Kennedy as she rode in that convertible with JFK in a New York parade ticker tape confetti flying everywhere!!! What little she knew then about what was to come, but still an unbelievable life, JFK jr. was a really nice person. From all I have read I would have loved to have been a guest at his dinner table discussing politics and debating the issues. Great company, delicious food, (thanks to Marta or Provencia) great conversation, what more can one ask for!!
