    Poor fatality gave up. He knew that even if he beat zero, he had already lost to Larry and elegant I believe. Zero had also already taken a game. No way he could've advanced.

      He give up since game 1, that Falcon punch was not a mistake. He knew it was over so he was like "who cares let's at least go out with something cool"
      It was a last hit situation, he could have as very well won that game, but he just didn't care.

      Joseph Franc (stealing this from another comment because it was a great analogy) if you were fired from a stressful job with good pay would you keep working there even though you knew you weren’t getting paid anymore? fatality knew he wouldn’t advance since he had lost like two sets prior. after he lost game one there was no reason to keep going expect to keep the crowd happy. but why do that? why put yourself through that stress and frustration? he’s human, what he did was something any person who wants a stable mental state would do.

    He was disappointed himself. He gave up. I completely understand why he did. He knew he couldn't advance. He is human and has emotions and was upset with himself and disappointed. After he lost game 1 there was literally no point in continuing. Why can't people understand that. He doesn't have to entertain us and give us a good set if he's not feeling it, and especially since there's literally no point in doing so.

    • @UR2SLOW
      @UR2SLOW 6 лет назад +65

      Fal Kaëlis basically who ever wins the most sets progresses, and when you are tied for sets it's whoever won the most games progresses. Fatality already lost two sets pretty badly prior to this and when he lost game 1 to zero he realised that even if he won the last 3 games, he could not progress because he lost too many times already. So he gave up.
      Same for tweek

    • @exia2321
      @exia2321 6 лет назад +13

      Also to note Game 3 vs Elegant during that set really demoralized him when he had the right call, but screwed up and killed himself after committing too hard. And when Elegant took advantage, both the fact that he wasn't gonna get out and that he sort of beat himself hurt him a lot. Basically how Tweek felt after he had so much momentum vs Wadi, but accidentally misinputted off stage and that error cost him the game when he got punished hard. And getting 3-0'd by VoiD too didn't help either. Both the round robin format and the one mistake they both made really hurt there mentality as a player.

    • @mixa2482
      @mixa2482 6 лет назад +4

      If he didn't reverse the game1 Falcon Punch, he would've won the game because it comes out 8 frames faster, definitely would've connected. And that was probably a misinput as well, so yeah, I would be at ruins there too.

      YankyMK Not really, he said himself on Twitter that he was heartbroken after not getting that spike on game 3, that shook him for the next match and Elegant took advantage and just completely gave up. It was honestly sad cause ZeRo vs Fatality was the match I was looking the most forward to in the this group since it was a rematch from Momocon where Fatality, in EE's words, obliterated him. It seemed like he was at least trying in game 1 vs ZeRo but that Falcon Punch was just something. Tbh, that Falcon Punch could have actually landed because ZeRo is known to do B-reverse after monkey flip so maybe he tried to read it as a last hoorah for him since he didn't really care anymore. Hell, maybe that could've given a little more confidence if it landed, cause then he would have it in mind that "damn, I just landed a falcon punch on the best player in the world, maybe I can just go ahead and destroy again like last time". Just my thoughts lol.

  • @HenryBits124
    @HenryBits124 6 лет назад +22

    Here's my question. He wouldn't move on, but why give up? Why wouldn't you want practice against the best player in the world who is trying his hardest to get 50gs? Especially when there is no risk for yourself personally? Not to mention the odds of him taking the tournament were almost nothing to start with (which is why what Tweek did made a bit more sense). If the answer is that he was just so broken up over not moving on (which he should have expected) that he didn't want to play, then I guess it's fine, but pretty inconsiderate to spectators and sponsors. Fuck, I'm mad, but I guess I get it. He was tilted and wasn't thinking rationally

    Here’s the thing about performing competitively: when you show up to compete, you know that anything less than 100% will not be enough. And when you’re against the number one player in the world, you know you need 110%. And so when you feel yourself at 70%, when you just know you’re not feeling yourself at all, then no, it doesn’t even feel worth it as practice. You can’t even practice, you’re just on autopilot, getting smacked around by the opponent

      Yeah. To be completely honest, I felt what Fatality did was worse than Tweek. Tweek actually tried against Ally, and only gave up when he was down 2 games and a whole stock on the last. Fatality gave up the whole set to zero and played it off cool that "he wasn't even trying" so he "didn't drop". That's just nasty and I think I lost respect for Fatality.

      @chrispy3051 6 лет назад +12

    • @diegocantdrive5031
      @diegocantdrive5031 6 лет назад +6

      Imperialdramon Tweek gave up after game two with VoiD. He legit gave signs of extreme discomfort on game three and ended up just throwing the game away. He was even more sad against ally, where he chose Diddy kong, someone he never uses, and then he uses DK in standard color. Had he been actually trying, he would have used the yetti alt or just went cloud. Nevertheless, these players can't be blamed with this round robin format. Knowing that the set is pointless makes it really hard to compete. If you think otherwise then you obviously haven't competed in a sport where your results are based off of other player's. I've been in a wrestling duel before, and it's really hard to be competitive if you know that your team won't advance because the rest of your team already lost, so your match literally has no value.

    Even so, if I feel upset and I know I can't win, I'll still try. The way I see it is like this: I may go down, but I wanna go down fighting. People will see me and say "Yes, he lost, but he gave it his all."

    It’s one thing to give up on a stock, but to give up on a whole game as it starts is honestly just poor sportsmanship. You don’t see baseball players just drop the bat after a 10-0 lead, they keep going even if not at 100% full throttle. No disrespect to Fatality, but shit like that is part of why I don’t think he’s the #1 Falcon player. That being said, he is one of the greats and it’s commendable that he stays loyal to a character that devs for Ultimate weren’t tbh (dash grab/f-smash nerfs, smh)

    5:53 "All this players, absolute fan favorites, right?"................................................Tell that to all this people shitting on ZeRo just because he's good. I know it's hard not to hate everyone who's been named "The best one" at something, but really. Is it even worth your time to shit someone's name? Does it make any difference to shit on him? Does it change the fact that he's good?
    It's no use hating someone just for his capability. Yes, it's hard to see him beat some of the favorites. Yes, it's hard to see these players crack. But you know what? SHIT HAPPENS, and as long as you keep focusing on shitting on him you're gonna keep missing something. Tweek at least tried. Elegant also got blown by ZeRo and kept going. Fatality surrendered and not only that, he played anti competitively. That's saying something.
    Also, Fatality had his entry and trip payed. He could at least have shown he earned it, he could have shown he was worth the trouble. And what does he do? He threw it away with games 2 and 3.
    Falcons don't die, but Fatality is NOT a Falcon, even if he's a good Falcon player. He could have done better.

      Demser DvM uh what kind of argument is that ? Fatality beat zero before, so this guys comment doesn’t really hold up because how would it be just over for him if he’s beaten zero already before ? That means you have the skill.
      Edit: zero and fatality didn’t face each other that much anyway, zero has more wins but it’s not like fatality wasn’t a threat. Did you not see the monocon 2017 set, he made zero switch twice and two stocked him twice.

    Wtf was that first game, are we in locals or S-tier tournament? 😃
    Anyways, in game1 a normal one would've connected since it comes out at frame 53. Falcon Punch started at 3:29.00 and Diddy's first roll at 3:28.55: between that and the second buffered roll, Zero was vulnerable during 28.20 - 27.93 and Falcon punch would've landed at 28.11.

  • @ryngtolu4334

    This set doesn't count. Fatality didn't even tried. ZeRo still didn't get his revenge for the Momocon.
    I'm sorry, but that's just stupid.

    • @ryngtolu4334
      @ryngtolu4334 6 лет назад +1

      DO YOU THINK HE FUCKING TRIED TO FALCON PUNCH HIM BECAUSE HE THOUGHT IT WAS THE BEST MOVE TO DO!?
      Unless you are blind, EVERYONE see how he didn't even tried, Fatality himself said he was so sad he didn't want to play.

    • @ahbhiro8407
      @ahbhiro8407 6 лет назад +14

      It's the players fault if they try or not. They decide weather or not to enter the tournament and the mental game in smash is just as important as the execution. Even if ZeRo didn't get revenge from Momocon, he has already proven that he's a better player than Fatality with all the majors he won/placed in

    • @ryngtolu4334

    • @ahbhiro8407
      @ahbhiro8407 6 лет назад +15

      You did say that this set doesn't count though. IMO this set counts and if Fatality didn't maintain his mental state then that's on him. I know it's hard and he's a fantastic player, but my stance is still the same. The mental game in smash is important.

    • @ryngtolu4334
      @ryngtolu4334 6 лет назад

      I mean it doesn't count as the Fatality VS ZeRo rivality. I understand if people does not have momentum, but right there is not just a question of momentum or not. He literally didn't want to play.
      I still think that Fatality is one of the player with the best chances to beat ZeRo.
