Great lesson,I recently pentested this utility but didn’t know much about it and pretty much stumbled through the whole ordeal but this cleared it up for me.
Very clear explanation and a good starting point for logrotation. It would be awesome with some running example, e.g. where you demonstrate how to specify a max log size and then shows that logs are rotated when reaching this max size. Just a suggestion. Great job! Is there more from you on log rotation if I subscribe?

so rotating basically means that we kinda change it time to time in order to keep it organized
