I gotta say, I just listened to the version of nightcrawler from the epitaph dvd and this one and even though this one is just taken by someone in the crowd (as opposed to being pro shot/sound) Ripper is definitely better on this one than Rob was on the epitaph one. I love Rob Halford, he was THE best metal singer in his prime. But alas, he hasn't been in his prime since the mid 90's. I think all that touring simply killed his voice. Ripper on the other hand is younger and he never had a tour schedule like Priest did in the 80's and early 90's. If you want to hear classic live Priest the way it's supposed to sound you have two choices: 1) Listen to the old live albums with Rob or 2) listen to either of the live albums with Ripper. That's my opinion, your's may vary.

I'd also like to point out that on most songs since Rob returned to Priest he just stands in one place looking down at the floor when he's singing. That's not the stage presence of Rob in his prime either. Ripper has stage presence also, just in a different way than Rob used to (not as good as 'young Rob' I will grant).

Who really cares if he hits notes? That's only part of the whole picture..

He has a real good voice, but he's not Rob. The major problem is that Rob really has something in his voice...and his stage presence too.

I was there.. the venue was Roseland.
I left about half way. The crowd wasn't a classic Priest crowd, more like a Ripper crowd...
As a huge Priest fan I just couldn't take his voice or the sound( and crowd)..

On behalf of the crowd thanks for leaving. Hope the door hit you in the ass on your stupid way out.

Here's your third option you can listen to Ralf Scheepers way better than Tim any day. Of course that's my opinion, yours may vary.
