One of the best UK entries to Eurovision there ever was. It should be re-entered every year until it wins.

It's still a great song after all these years. So underrated. But it was an incredibly difficult year with many good songs.

Unique and timeless, and that arrangement makes it truly outstanding! Love it, and it deserved so much more than it got. Sadly, the juries didn't agree with us back then..

The background singers were in a completely different dimension. Love the song though.

If they'd sing it as a group on their own it would've been massively popular in its own right.

Definitely something very different and very good from the United Kingdom. I love the indie influences here! My 4th favourite UK entry of the 1990s (behind 98, 93 and 97). 10th place was much too low for this masterpiece - it should have received 6th place at the very least, and deserved to do much better than some other countries (Malta and Portugal in particular, but also Hungary, France and possibly Russia and Ireland too).

Listen to it, handbags! It still sounds fresh today as it did 16 years ago!!!!! And let's face it - Johnathon you are hardly "down with it" are you?

@escbelgium1 I know, 1994 was a very strong year, and one of my favourites (hence my username). For me, this entry is one of the reasons why.

Way ahead of time for ESC 1994, this would have been a fair winner, but juries preferred, Rock n Roll Kids or boring Hungary…. Frightening isn‘t?

It's one of our best songs, but I don't think it's a great vocal. She's weak and mumbly on the low verse notes, and sharp on the longer chorus notes. It also suffered from its draw, there was a long slew of mid-tempo sombre numbers in the first half.

in my opinion, and i am not british, this was by very far the best song in the contest, and still as of today one of the best ever, it still amazes me today how it didnt win, she was simply superb

I thought it was a great tune. From an Irishman here. The tempo rise was excellent, chorus soul harmonies at 3 / 4 are superb! It had funk and classical and Shakespeare's Sister all in one. No other song in 1994 had that.

It's a song contest not a singing contest. Eurovision got boring when people started to compare it to The X Factor in the 00s.
