- Way too long-winded example of what I do when my eyes are done for the day... scleral lens removal, warm compress, lid cleansing and moisture goggle.

Do would recommend the Xl goggles for floppy eyelid syndrome? Also what tape or goggles would you recommend for floppy eyelid syndrome ?
Hi there, we normally wouldn't recommend the Tranquileyes/Tranquileyes XL for floppy eyelid syndrome. The most popular goggles would probably be the Post-LASIK shield because it's very rigid. In terms of tape, Mepitac is always our top recommendation. We do have an article on FES here: dryeyeshop.com/blogs/tuesday-tips-for-ecps/tuesday-tips-floppy-eyelid-syndrome (please note Eyelocc and Niteye have been discontinued).
Do you rinse your lids after the lid scrub wiping? Where can I find the oasis wipes?
You can find the Oasis wipes here: dryeyeshop.com/products/oasis-tears-oasis-lid-lash-tea-tree-oil-pads?_pos=5&_sid=fa03c9413&_ss=r. No rinsing required!
Hi Rebecca,
Thanks for this video and all your others. How do dry eye patients keep the outside surface of the scleral lens from getting dry and uncomfortable? I understand how the cornea is bathed in saline all day and thus protected from dryness, but what about the outside surface of the lens? Do you have any issues there with dryness? Is hydra-PEG enough? I'm currently in the fitting process with my dr and am trying to get some info from people who wear sclerals and have dry eye. Thanks!
Hi Drew! It's kind of all over the map... varies a lot from person to person. I know people who have no tear production at all who do just fine, and I know others with pretty healthy eyes but for whom that top surface can get uncomfortable. I think that plasma treatment is important, and hydra peg works well for *some* but definitely not all (some people even have it removed). Then there's the solutions used. Cleaners and disinfection solutions all seem to play a role in wetting and comfort. If you're not already in the scleral lens facebook group, come join... lots of discussion about this there!
@@rebeccapetris1039 Thanks Rebecca for you reply and all that you do for this community! I sent my join request for the Facebook Group :)
@@rebeccapetris1039 What is the "plasma treatment" you refer too? Thanks!
@@valeriechereskin Hi Valerie! Plasma treatment is a surface treatment done to many (but not all) scleral lenses. It improves the surface 'wettability'. I believe Hydra PEG is usually done on top of plasma treatment actually.
@@TheDryEyeShop Thank you, I had not heard of that. Not sure if mine has it but it does have Hydra PEG. Thanks again for all the great videos!
You use the brown bottle of hydrogen peroxide?????
Sometimes :)
